  1. you owe me drunkan... plus its raining outside and I have no car to play with as they're all at various workshops around the country.
  2. ever tried owning a car with black carpet? lets just say it only stays black for the first 24 hours you own it. it attracts and shows off dust and dirt like no tomorrow. grey is a happy medium, dark carpet, less dirt visibility.
  3. yeah stagea, laurel or gloria AWD RB25DET's are relatively easy to install (or a regular RB25 with an RB26 sump which you can get off anyone putting an RB26 into a RWD car for peanuts and the stock GTS4 front diff) but then you have the problem of needing a totally new ECU system like a Wolf or Motec for tunability, or settling for a stock ECU.
  4. might seem like a dumb question, but how much payload can it lift?
  5. not in all states. In WA you can have em made by licensed shops from memory. These could also just be novelty plates. anyways... ban threat still stands
  6. bollox... might just dyno my dad's ceffy then
  7. Tell u on monday morning when i've got the bill exactly how much it cost. It was thru a local auto elec who specialised in bosch and hitachi alternators (ceffy one is a hitachi).
  8. pics or ban.
  9. Group buy #3 is on for these items http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...howtopic=132680
  10. thanks for the responses guys. 7 days to go for the rest you y'all.
  11. the reason no one can give you a clear cut answer is that pretty much everyone gives up after a while. It'll cost you around $8000 to do the conversion complete on the cheap (providing you know a workshop that won't charge you labour and you do some of the work... and you can get parts cheap too)... it'll cost a lot more if you're just giving money to someone to do it for you. With the cost of compliance on R32's under SEVS so cheap, and the cost of previously imported 15yr old rattlebox GTR's so low still, it dosen't make any sense to do it. I've got a GTS4 with a 2530 strapped to the side of the RB20DET, Apexi FMIC, exhaust, intake, AFC and EBC and it goes great for what it is, better than any other R32 GTSt I've ever driven. If I was to upgrade it, I'd just sell it and buy an R33 GTR (around $25,000 landed and complied these days).
  12. Anyone can put together a Mines tune replica at any point in time. Only 20 Z Tunes though... ever. So Z Tune over mines for pure brag factor. I'm sure they could both put as big a smile on my face as each other if I was to drive em. I just feel the Z Tune would elongate my penis further than the Mines.
  13. sad! trust me! I know how it feels can't believe you sold it so cheap though, you put so much into it. god I miss that car, and that engine bay... hope the new buyer knows how valuable those extractors are... they cost just under $2000.
  14. tomorrow.... baaaad. weekend when i'm in melbourne... gooood. I think blind elk is the official SAU VIC town elder. Geoff's just the SAU VIC military brat.
  15. definitely go check em out guys... I saw em doin the rounds at Eastern Creek last sunday at the Muscle Car Masters'. That bluebird sounds teh hot and the gibson cars are all droolworthy. Dunno bout the DR30... think the R31 sorta stole its thunder.
  16. Well teh alternator died on dad's cef, so I chucked the VIN into Nissan Fast to see what else I could use. It came back with nothing, which was really odd... I would have thought it'd be the same as an R32 GTSt or something at least. Anyways, being stranded in Syd I gave Advan (closest workshop to my parent's place) who told me to give SSS Automotive a call for spare parts, and they found a second hand alternator on the shelf with the exact same part number... and it came out of an R31 skyline. The guy who was on the phone, then told me they had been dealing with cef's for a while, and that most of the ancillaries and even the engine was identical to the R31's (I'm assuming the GTS-R's). Well fancy that... my old man drives a newer model Pintara! I'll keep that in mind when I give shit to R31Nismoid about driving a box. Oh yeah, thumbs up to SSS Automotive too. Ended up gettin a brand new alternator instead of a secondhand one (hey, dad's money not mine)... but they seem to know they're stuff. End cost: $360 for parts and labour. I seriously cbf working in my parent's garage with bugger all tools to do it myself, even if it is only 3 bolts and a plug.
  17. they're in regents park... http://www.belgarage.com.au/index.php?opti...ct&Itemid=3
  18. haha was gonna take my dad's car there today to see eric... will bring teh skyline if its in oct... do they have an AWD dyno? everytime I go there i only ever see rwd or fwd cars on there.
  19. wouldn't happen to be a yellow R33 GTR would it? there was someone from russia posting pics of that car here before.
  20. Hey steve... pulled one of the shocks out today at Bel Garage... the shocks need to be regassed or changed... hence the floatyness. I also bought some shims off nissan to lock teh factory viscous diff. stay tuned for dad's undercover dorifto machine.
  21. I seriously can't be f**ked anymore... I originally wanted to build a show car, but after moving to sydney (with the abysmal road conditions) and getting more and more involved in motorsport the less practical such a big kit seems. So not looking forward to babying the car around and parking the car ever so carefully once its put on.
  22. note to self: to sell car easily wind up the boost to make it seem powerful and make it make pssht sounds. gotcha seriously... this thread is awesome coz you can gauge what people are really looking for when they buy their cars.
  23. the fibreglasser we contracted to do the mould sold a copy to the company that supplied ali's kit. he was swayed by extra money thrown at him (seeing as they charged ali for a genuine kit i'm sure they had plenty spare)... nothing much we can do except call him names and give him a swift kick to the nuts. Not gonna stress over it coz I'm over it. I've had the kit for like 3 years now... if people were that desperate for it they'll pay for a real one and copy it, so replica's are inevitable. still feel pretty shitty about it though. shouldn't have even agreed to having the kit copied in the first place... now there's 3 cars in melbourne running around with copies of my kit and I still haven't had the time to put mine on... although Adam's one I don't really mind (red one at Autosalon) coz Adam's a mate.
  24. I would hazard a guess and say only the front 2 doors had those mirrors on em... oh come on... like you didn't see that one coming. nice car, do u actually take it on the motorkhana course, or is it just part of the festivities?
