what it boils down to is availability and familiarity. RB engines are a dime a dozen here, compared to good 1JZ's. Most workshops know how to do RB20 - RB25 swaps pretty quickly. You have to keep in mind that in thailand you don't have RB20DET engines in stock ceffies like we do over here. So if you're gonna go to the effort of say for example upgrading the RB24S or CA18i to a better engine, then you can go either to an RB25 or a 1JZ just as easily... wheras for us its a lot easier to go from RB20DET to RB25DET by just changing a few things in the loom and dropping an engine (and minor ancillary upgrades) in.

yeah it is (hence 1 and a half R32's )... first 180sx in australia with an R32 GTR front. There's another one in SA now tho. as for the gold R32... it is a chopped photo... the only thing that was chopped was the ride height, the rest is all as it is. new R32 (yet to ahve bodykit and stuff put on) at a recent track day... on the track... and off the track (thanks to a tyre coming off the rim)...

if you're not used to driving on the right, you don't want to try and concentrate on the road other drivers and streetsigns (something we take for granted) while getting used to shifting with your left hand in a car like a skyline. Also what you guys call an Acura TL seems to be a Accord Euro over here, and they're very different cars to a Skyline. All the more reason to get used to driving in Australia in a regular, not so fast and potentially dangerous car before stepping up to a Skyline. You can use this time to import one straight from Japan.

Its hard to justify a seperate section for just 4 door variants of skylines... I mean a vast majority of the car is the same as a coupe. Stageas and Cefiros are completely different models, so seperate sections for them are somewhat justified. That said, the reason I originally named the section Cefiro and RB Powered Sedans was so that 4 door Skyline owners had somewhere to post about bodykits that were unique to them and about this newfangled thing called rear doors and windows. I guess with the new naming of the section we just have to hope that 4 door skyline owners identify themselves as owners of a Taxi

All turbo skylines from the R32 onwards come with standard intercoolers. Although in the single turbo variants they're pissy little sidemount ones which are only good if you plan to keep the engine in stock form. A FMIC kit for a skyline is about AUD $500 these days for a chinese cooler, and up to about $1500 for a brand name one. Mileage on skylines are generally not something you should go by, due to shifty dealers winding back km's etc. Go by the condition of the car and have it independantly assessed prior to purchase. If I had a budget of 35K, my car of choice would be an R33 GTR as you can have them for as little as 25K plus on road costs these days for a slightly older car, and keep the change for things like insurance and mods. R34 GTt should also be around the same price range, but you get a much more fun car in the R33 GTR. Although if you're coming from the US I dunno if you'll be approved straight away as you'll need a decent credit history within the country. You might wanna stick to something more sedate and cheaper like a R33 GTS25t (2.5L single turbo). Just don't get too excited at the opportunity of owning a skyline and be suckered by a dealer into owning a lemon. If you import one from Japan, you get exactly what you're looking for (most importers in Australia these days can find you something to meet your exact requirements as long as they're reasonable) at a cheaper price, however you'll be waiting about 12 weeks to get your car. If you buy one locally your choice is somewhat limited (although these days Skylines at dealerships are common as fcuk and come in all sorts of shapes, colours n configs), they cost a little bit more, but you get to drive them away. My advice to you is to come down, and have a look around. You'll be surprised with the volume of skylines you see on the road and in used car dealerships.

you'll have to get one custom made. When I was looking into a car bra for my R32 (drive between Melb-Syd a bit and got sick of stone chips) the best I could find was $450 for a custom made front bra with non scratch lining and bug shield.

I'd recommend contacting Wayne from GT Auto if you're looking to buy through a dealer. Honest bloke, SAU VIC member and active forum member... Owns an R33 GTS25t himself which he brngs ou to track days to boot... Can't go wrong

Looks like a "Missile" front bar... well one of the ones that shop supplies anyways, they have a few variations, but in general they look like the R32 GTR bar with a Nismo bottom lip.

poverty model A31... powerhouse RB20E (also came in R32 GTE's) which puts out an awesome 75kw (if that). Its basically the same engine as the locally sold RB30E (that came in R31's and VL's) but with a block that's 1L less... interestingly the rockercovers are interchangeable (so yeah you can put a rockercover that says "Holden" off a VL onto your RB20E).

hmm PranK owns the domain name for cefirosaustralia.com I'm in the process of setting up the domain to come directly to the cefiro section rather than the main SAU forum and cause confusion. As for making cefiroz do the same, I dunno... I like cefiroz coz of its tutes and guides n shizzle... dunno how easy it'll be to integrate the forum into that... whoops missed belgarion and predator... pva's a mod the whole reason you guys got reverted to lower postcounts is due to a "anti-postwhoring script" mishap... so rather than fix the 5 or 6 that got done by the script I just changed the rest to match In any case, in a couple of days I'll have fixord the anti postwhoring script, and I'll fix up your post counts then if you still want me to... although having a high postcount is disadvantageous when the script kicks in. that is.. well... only Jar's and Kamikaze's postcounts were reset to 0 intentionally as a joke earlier today. Nice to see all you postwhores get your collective panties in a bunch tho

I think it is No one can see your postcount unless they looked hard anyways. All postwhores have had their postcounts reduced to n00b stature. I'm sure it'll only take you guys a week to get it back up to something respectable.
