Actually they aren't D-Speeds... they're sourced from a small shop in Yokohama that does clear lenses for S13s n stuff. I can get you a set if you want... tee hee hee every time I see this pic, I have the Beachboys' Wipeout song playing in my head. Next time I'll be checking my tyre pressures before I go out on the track. Luckily the tyre only came off the seal, not totally off the rim, so all we had to do was pump it back up so it sat properly again. Lack of tyre on rim = round and round into the embankment. No damage sustained. Thank god... esp as at that stage I'd only owned that car for 12 hours.

a few of em came in under the old CPA import scheme... I remember back in 2002 or something HPI had a writeup on a black TK R34 GTt.

Aw man, another RB20 powered GTS4 at DECA would have been awesome... I had a blast in mine, but didn't really have anything to compare it to... other than rexes and the galant... but they aren't exactly the same type of 2.0L AWD.

I take care of all the IT stuff at J-Spec Imports... although I'm leaving soon to move to Sydney, and I'll only be doing server maintenance/coding for J-Spec remotely. Good job, you get to network with a LOT of people and companies in the import industry, which is awesome if I need spare parts, aftermarket parts, tuning and servicing.

the kakimoto R33 (craig's that came 3rd in RWD) weren't running semi comps it was running 5 year old pirelli P-Zero that were hard as rock BTW, me and darK have AWD cars

yeah got in nice and early and got 2 wang burgers... filled me up for the day. I didn't realise you wer there dezz. GTS4 was good. Love teh GT2530 (I think) on the RB20 styles. Needs a tune, and needs to have a decent boost controller fitted. AWD in the GTS4 was so much fun... much more than RWD in the GTS4... dosen't steer as well in RWD mode. Tyre coming off the rim was a scare in the morning, and prevented me from enjoying the long wang n short wang... but skidpanning was good. Almost beat snowy in a run too if I hadn't knocked over the cone (granted he did spin out twice). This is gonna be my last DECA (seeing as I'm moving to Sydney next month) and it was great fun. Almost tempts me to drive down to Shepp for the weekend next time its on. Some sad news, towards the end of the day my gearbox was really struggling to go into gear (causing a lot of runs to be done in 2nd gear only)... looks like the problem is still there, the clutch dosen't seem to be disengaging even when the pedal is 100% in, making it hard to put it inot and pull it out of gears. Driving around by matchin revs isn't fun, esp in traffic. Looks like it might be a siezed thrust bearing (worst case) or just not enough pressure from the clutch master (best case).

yeah, shouldn't be a problem... we can help you import a car you've already found. Most often we can even negotiate further with the seller and help out while the car is in japan too.

Just rang nissan spares... they're $203.15 plus GST each trade price. Apparently both are in stock in Syd. Can have em delivered to the nearest Nissan dealership. Retail is $216 plus GST. Big saving

You can organise them yourself if you want, but then J-Spec organises that for you anyways as part of the service, so you might as well let us do it for you and save yourself the hassle of trying to find the best deal. Most SEVS compliancers play it by the book, so if there are aftermarket parts on the car, they will change it to stock standard ones so your car can be engineered with no issues. Whether they return the original parts is up to the compliancer, but most of the ones we recommend don't have any issues with that. All depends on the car you buy really. The more "good parts" your SEVS car has on it, the harder it is to comply and subsequently import.

what brand are your rims, if they're 3 piece the manufacturer will be able to supply you with a new outer rim of the correct size you need.

blind-elk on the forum owns an RB25DET powered GTS4 and a couple of guys own RB26DETT powered R32 GTS4 sedans (coz they're cool GTR sedans) R32 GTS4's are good fun in their own regard... I own one, light mods, still an RB20DET, plenty of fun in AWD mode and RWD mode (you can very easily wire in an override switch for the AWD) GTS4's share a lot more common parts with a GTR than a GTSt, like the chassis for example, and the control arms etc. Swapping in GTR parts is pretty simple. I run aftermarket R32 GTR shocks and wheels on my GTS4, and even things like quick shift kits, control arms etc are interchangeable, which is awesome. That said it s a bit of a pain in the freckle to sit there and bring a GTS4 up to GTR spec, when you can just spend about $5000 more and just buy a GTR in the first place. So maybe rather than trying to make it something it isn't, use it without modding it, when you have enough saved up, sell it and upgrade to a GTR. That's my plan anyways.
