  1. yeah its an S14 conversion done in japan of all places... its done by a company that specialises in LA Style tuning, which is... surprise surprise, a style gaining popularity in japan, imitating the americans. See the yanks only get S14's and S13's as 240sx's and to own a Skyline is a very very expensive hobby, so they convert the front and back to look like a R34. In Japan and Australia its a bit stupid really considering you can buy an R34 GTt for much cheaper than an S14 with that abomination of a kit.
  2. yo G, I might grab the S13 brake setup off ya for the AE86. Is this the stuff out of the onevia that you took out ages ago? I'll only know in like 2 weeks if I need it for sure tho, so if you can sell it before then don't wait on me.
  3. thanks mate, how big is that and where on the bonnet is the dent?
  4. If its imported for race use you can apply for it to be transferred for compliance unders SEVS. At 10k, it'd still work out cheaper, just a bit of a headache unless you deal with DOTARs regularly (which I do). If you don't want the hassle I'll take it off your hands and do all that myself and get it on the road, can you provide all the paperwork necessary, ie import approval for race use, a copy of your racing license and other bits I'll need to organise it with DOTARs?

Also AF ratio piggyback adjustment for fine tuning... those would be your first bunch of mods to do.
  7. lol maybe you should have advertised it on here sooner. On that note, its a white series 1 R33, which is probably the most common skyline in the "for sale" market. A lot of people don't want to buy a car that's common. Still 14k on road with rego is pretty good. Its also a "Type M" not an "M Spec". In your ad, you might want to add the pic of the dent on the door, where you are located (looks like NSW from the rego sticker), the year of the car, auto/manual and a list of mods, just to save you having to answer repeat questions.
  8. cheap to get tyres for teh drifting. duh. japanese people are tight arses, just like aussies.
  9. watch out for a fella on SAU by the name of Dave... he drives a white Ford and he's always at our track events

    what do you want jimbo?
  11. yeah, I've got the switch in my GTS4 as well... wire coming out of fuse box... leads to switch under steering wheel. you can also similarly turn ABS on and off (great for track).
  12. Haha I thought that too, but the guy in yellow's shoulders are too well defined to be James, as he has more feminine shoulders. Troy, one of the girls that works in the Japanese office has a sister who's like 30 something who wants to marry some aussie dude to move over here. Maybe we could play import match maker. She's useless around the kitchen and the garage though.
  13. sorry rezzeh, i'm apparently too busy being a primate bangin' sex junket in uganda for that. BTW, you got your fenders and aero from aeromaster right? How'd you find the fit of it? did it all bolt straight up? Most of my kit (which I got from aeromaster) was OK, except the rear bumper that left some gaps under the tail lights, just wondering if you found the same. here's my old R32 with the aeromaster kit, the new owner recently painted it Top Secret gold:
  14. I got it for christmas... 2004
  15. That's coz the one in the pic is a 1JZ AE86 engine bay is about the same size as the celica as well.
  16. speaking of cramming big things into little bays... also... one of the fellas locally managed to cram a landcruiser V8 under his hood, so its not that far fetched.
  17. If you're coming back to oz in 2008 you should get yourself a nice little moneymaker car (ie one that's not eligible for SEVS and is highly desirable... like an S15 Varietta for example, or an extremely modded car) and own it for a year, bring it down as a personal import, sell it, use the money and buy yourself a R33 GTSt. You can buy a lightly modded R33 GTSt for between AUD $13,000 for a 1993 and AUD $19,000 for a 1998. No doubt in 2 years time they will drop further in price. Already the focus has moved to R34's as the preferred Skyline to import (we've been getting quite a few inquiries for them and very late model R33's lately). Also you'll have already paid import fees for the car to enter the UK, and from what I know of UK export laws you don't get them back or anything, so you might as well just import one direct out of Japan instead of paying tax on an already taxed car. Our taxes and duties aren't as hefty as the UK ones either. Shipping from the UK to Australia is also a lot more than shipping from Japan to Australia. In summary, don't do it Pick one up when you get here.
  18. well that was an easy one to keep my resolution this year that's related to SAU and cars... "finish my ae86"
  19. just be glad you don't have to call one of em Datto any more.
