The AMG is definitely a cut above the standard A45. I‘m a fan. Congrats. been eyeing off an AMG GLE63 to replace the SQ5, still tossing up between that, a Cayenne GTS and a bigger Audi, either the SQ7 or SQ8.

$8k USD... bargain

Not sure either, it's 100% china brand bar. Ideally I want the Caractere kit out of Belgium, but no distributors for it here in oz https://www.caractere.com/products/audi/audi-q5-2013-8r2/ You know it'll be a good fit cos they have different versions of the bumpers for the different factory options. No hacking around.

Probably gonna change the bumper to this while I'm at it: https://marsperformance.com.au/RS-Q5-Style-Front-Bumper-Bar-Chrome-Black-Honeycomb-Grille-AUDI-Q5-8R-13-16 just gotta make sure it plays nice with the radar drive assist

Ha, so just after I posted this, some dude in a truck just reversed into my front quarter and bent it yesterday. great... off to the panel shop, luckily no major damage. I just had a look on carsales to suss out market value, there's not many in the spec I have and with the low k's mines has.

When I was selling my Cefiro this was hot on the list alongside the Mark II. Still regret not buying it. It’s essentially a R34 sedan with luxury styling. Love it. Great buy and will be looking forward to following what you do with it so I can live vicariously through your adventures. Welcome! PS: If you’re gonna modify the aero, please don’t put a Uras kit on it… see if you can hunt down the elusive Impul kit for it.

other things you can do to help build a relationship and lower the price... this car has obviously been a passion project for Jordan who use premium parts to build what in his mind would have been a demonstration of his abilities as a mechanic... much like a dealer demo car that comes loaded with all the options to make you fall in love with the model. this is his workshop demo car. that means he's not goign to build a hand-grenade that's fragile, he'll build something he can stake his reputation as a new workshop on. ask him if the car can have his workshop name stuck to it, and ask for a bunch of business cards so you can send business his way. also commit to going along with him in the car that he built to any shows and events to help him promote the business. then ask for a discount

This is the car being built... https://www.instagram.com/tv/CddpIM_pzIB/ here's the social account for Jordan, who owns Motion Autoworks and the car, with a build log: https://www.tiktok.com/@jm_barnard he's had the workshop since 2020, so you'd assume the car's only been built in the last 2 years. couple of pics of it being well looked after: he's moved on to building an Evo, so he obviously needs the cash for it. the car itself is well built using commonly used but quality parts. that's good because if there's any failures you can just go get a replacement part. it doesn't look like there's any bespoke custom built parts. the car is built to withstand 900hp hooning around, so if you treat it well and don't thrash it like the previous owner, and also if you run it detuned on petrol instead of metho, you should be fine from a reliability point of view as the stress on the upgraded parts won't be as much. however if you're going to be pushing it to its limits then expect to need to refresh those parts regularly. the good thing is that you can always take it back to the guy who built it, providing you maintain a good relationship with him. This then comes to the price, if you lowball him on price he'll obviously try to recoup any perceived losses in the maintenance. Pay a fair price and make a friend and you'll enjoy not just a nice car but someone who can help you take care of it. As for the price itself, the price of skylines is volatile in Aus, so it's pretty hard to comment. we've got no context of the UK, so any commentary would be speculative. have a look around for a standard GTS25t of the same year etc and take that as your base price. Then add all the labour costs. If the mechanic was good with his cashflow or has a good accountant he'd have written all the parts cost off as a business cost. So really his lowest price that he cannot go below is base price of car plus labour cost. Keep in mind the cost of the car would have been low if he purchased it with a blown motor or something that prompted the build in the first place. Plus there's primer on the chassis above the front right wheel, so that hints at a crash at some point. It's concerning that the car has a red chassis and grey panels, so you'd assume it's had a very rough past. However, in the hands of this mechanic it's really been restored to like-new.

2015 MY16 model, 85000km on it now. So far so good. Had it for 5 years. No major faults, think the only thing that ever popped up was an intermittent fault in the headlight caused by a bulb that was blown lol.

how should I fix these blemishes?

In for a penny, in for a pound: https://fenderist.com/fe90001 budget and/or lazy option - maybe just get those over arch stickers that are body colour coded? -
Thought they were working on a mechagodzilla full-electric/hybrid car?

I've got the exact same car as my daily... mine's the black edition. Changed the grille, wheel spacers, added a kufatek exhaust controller and small trim pieces that I modded. It's a super fun car to drive, and I'm looking to replace it as my noveted lease has come to an end, but honestly I'm struggling to find another car that's as fun, carries 2 baby seats and is as much bang for buck as it.

To be fair I wish the car they released 15 years ago looked like this, and hopefully this is the last Botox injection for this model. Every time they Botox it, they push back the new model.

Don’t pretend like you don’t have the spare parts! most safety and comfort features any new driver should have are standard kit on 2010 vintage euro at that price point, but most asian cars you’d struggle

Still got my MK4 Golf GTI that's sitting in the back of the garage appreciating in value 😁 Dailying an Audi SQ5 twin turbo diesel, waiting on delivery of a Porsche Cayenne GTS twin turbo V8 in a few months time, then have to sell the SQ5. Missus drives the kids around in a Mercedes B180. Bought an aftermarket Android headunit and LED badge for the SQ5, still in half a mind if I should install them or sell seperately. Constantly looking at the Japanese auctions waiting for a nice R32 GTR to pop up, and some sort of leverage over the missus to drop cash money on it. And yes, totally regret selling my 32 GTR, GTS4 and GTS back in the day for a fraction of what they're worth now.
