agreed, I'm very happy with my D90, as it does exactly what I need it for. I bought the base only and went with a couple of fast lenses rather than go for the kit ones, but the base is sturdy, has lots of accessories, is pro enough to keep me interested, and simple enough to be easy to use. I'm still discovering new techniques and features on it, and I've had it for a year now.

D90 is a DX camera not an FX. So not so future proof. It's the best bang for buck camera, although its a little too complicated for someone just getting into SLR's. Remember once you have lenses that are good, then all you have to do to improve the picture is upgrade the base that takes the pic.

there's a DIP switch on the back that controls what engine it's supposed to work on. It basically dumps unburnt fuel into the exhaust manifold, which explodes due to heat, which makes the turbo keep spooling. So if you're running a sleeve bearing turbo and run a Bee*R rev limiter, you can kiss your turbo goodbye. For that matter if your oil/water supply to the turbo isn't up to scratch most turbos will cark it... as will any catalytic converter/muffler you try to use, straight pipe or GTFO. As mentioned above, best thing to do with one is to bin it. Creates more problems than it solves.
