  1. who owns NED888? saw it pass thru gympie the other day
  2. I just spent a night over in the 'forced induction' forum, and all I can say is it is good to be back here....One big happy family. All warming up to the glow of pretty stagea pics. Now how does the family look...like this?? Ska - dad, of German origin, could be Ex-Nazi, could be evil twin of real dad who has killed real dad and taken his life over, which happened before to demented half cousins uncle, once removed on the bad side of the family, which is where he probably got it from. SK - big bro - full of good advice Cruiseliner - the black sheep 66yo - grandpa ams & AC - the younger twins Humanzee - left home on the overseas jaunt Tangles - left home, came back, left home, came back, left home.. Who wants to be mum?
  3. Thanks for all the replies and advice guys. The mate has settled on a GT3040R - need to keep it streetable. 4000+ before power is not much fun and similar to what the current T70 is doing. Been priced at $1745 does this sound reasonable? Plus one second hand T70 for sale - slight scrapping noise from the exhaust turbine, still spinning, but not happy jan!!
  4. Interesting to say the least. So how do you know when to replace them? It's not cheap enough just to do it for the sake of it. How sensitive are they to being knocked around. A friend dropped his once on the bench and it would not work properly after that. I recently dropped mine while doing the dump pipe upgrade - How do I know it is still working? Would really be interested to know how they work internally?
  5. These questions are for a mate who isnt a member (no puter). I have told him to phone you re your GT3540 that is for sale.
  6. I'm looking to pull 420 - 450 rwhp on the R33 RB25. Got the basics, large fmic, highmount manifold, 4 inch dump and Apexi Power FC. Just looking at what else I need to add?? Fuel Pump Bosch 044 ?? 550cc injectors ?? ( currently they are stock) Turbo - GT3040 or GT3540 ?? Thanks in advance for the advice. Wazza
  7. Hey Ega, dump pipes are like people, they dont breath too well with plastic bags over their heads. .....hah ha I know, it's late and I'm tired...
  8. Well, I'll be a skunk's armpit. I'm going home to check it out..... ......30 minutes later..... well for crying out loud and slobbering down the sink - he's right, it's all one piece. Now you have factor in removing the passenger grip handle as well!! Not that it worries me anyway, I've already got tweeters.
  9. No disrespect intended, but when I learnt my ABC's, the A pillar was the one adjacent to the windscreen and the B pillar was the one beside the drivers head - with the seat belt attachment ( as per above description) ?? Or did someone change the alphabet on me...
  10. This may be even more helpful. Ernie has shifted to Allgas St, Slacks Creek. Phone 0433 076278 Ernest Parry - [email protected]
  11. No idea really, Mine looks like it is just an end cap. It could be the outside temp sensor. Either way I dont think it will make a hill of beans where you stick it. Are you going for the return back pipe setup?? Go you good thing!!
  12. I'v never owned or driven an S1, but it seems to me from these forums that all the S1 guys are making small modifications to their cars to bring them up to a standard that the S2 already has. Not that there is anything wrong with the S1, it's just the normal evolution of things. Manufacturers have made little improvements here and there, which you will probably spend the next couple of years trying to copy, so you either spend the money now on the newer version or later on improving the older. Either way - it's buyer beware.
  13. I agree and I told/ask them about matching the group buy and they wouldnt be in it. Usual deal...wanted it in a hurry to complete the job, so I paid up, then didnt finish it before the skidpan day so now the car has a modified turbo housing connected to the std front/dump - sounds like its passing wind all the time.
  14. I am currently modifying mine and adding a split front/dump pipe all the way back to the new magic cat. And as the turbo housing needs to be modified as well to make the split wastegate effective, I used my mates which he had already moded - it was a from an R33 and bolted straight on. The turbo needs to be completely removed to do this. From what I have read on other threads, unless the split is a couple of feet in length it is a 'waste' of time (no pun intended). However the first foot of the dump pipe is the hardest to manufacture (if you're doing it on your own) so buying an off the shelf item and then chopping off the back end and extending it further along to the cat can be as easier way to go. My costs so far: Moded turbo housing - free Turbo flange with split wastegate - $35 Magic Cat $300 3 inch 2 bolt flange - $15 Mild steel 3 inch pipe - free 1.25 inch wastgate pipe, pre bent from exhaust shop - $35 O2 sensor nut - free, you need 18mm ID X 1.25mm thread An off the shelf split dump pipe is going to cost $150-200 then you still need to cut and extend it (unless you get one that is already the right length) Plus you'll need a larger cat or you're wasting your time by leaving a hefty flow restriction in the system. IMO stainless is just for show unless you're keeping the car for more then ten years. Or unless you intend to heat wrap the dumps.
  15. Sorry lads, Like Shan (Service manual saga) I'm leaving town this Saturday for a couple of weekends. Besides running a coach company of 32 buses, I also drive them every so often. So I havent been able to get much done. This will definitely go ahead - legalilties have been sorted and duelly (sic) ignored. Best thing would be to email any logos you want to: [email protected] Jpeg format preffered. 300 dpi or above. It doesnt have to be perfect as the image is only used as a guide when put into the digitising program.
  16. Time: 09:54am Place: Caloundra Turn Off Direction: North on the Bruce Hwy Car:Green S1 Identity: Qikstagea - I think. I was heading South at the time (yellow S2) and I dont think the driver looked over. I tried to flash the lights but we had almost passed by then. What really freaked me out was that as soon as I saw the Stagea from a distance I said to the wife - there's qikstagea - didnt even have to think about it...I must be on this forum too much as I have only ever seen one picture of his car.
  17. U cant, that's why we have cars
  18. Type in 'carbibles.com' in ur search engine. It's got everything u need 2 know. 38-40psi is a good place to start.
  19. I dont read many other forums, but I think we got more sticky threads on the front page then 66yo has bugs stickied to his grille.
  20. Mines 2WD and it's awesome on a wet skidpan. However on the road there's nothing like the confidence inspired by 4WD in the wet. But then why does it seem everyone with 4WD spends ages trying to work out how to disconnect it. Either way less dissappation of power through the gearbox means more power to the ground
  21. We're a little slower up here in Queensland - too much sun! But I got it today
  22. 2000 S2 Mellow Yellow RS2 3' split dump and full exhaust system, K&N Panel filter. Highflowed stock turbo - home job on the lathe. Jaycar DFA, IEBC, Fan cooled IC, Viper VX791, oh, and 3 baby seats. It's also slow but I still won the Motorkhana on the skidpan against a bunch of R33/34's and a Soarer.
  23. Two friends saw a silver Stagea driving north thru Gympie on Sunday morning. They didnt get a rego no. but where sure excited to tell me that they seen another one - not bad since mines the only one they've ever seen. Plus I just worked out that I must have seen TECHO's a couple of months back on the Bruce Highway heading north thru Gympie - I remember the rego 534...
  24. She has people wanting to do this thing all the time. Usually they turn a blind eye to it. If they dont ask any questions then they dont need to feel responsible. As they say - at the end of the day, they dont know what sort of arrangement the client has with the owner of the trademark, and they are not the ones selling the trademark onto someone else for a profit. The client can simply say this is for personal use. I know none of this (ignorance) matters a rats ... when it comes to the letter of the law. But she is happy to do it and the main thing is if I make a couple of bucks (literally about that much) we are going to pass it onto her boss who owns the software. Either way I am going to do this for myself. I just wanted to post it up here and share my joy with my fellow wagoners.(cause that's the kind of guy I am) Plus having others input would be nice. Mostly, this was prompted by the Embroided cargo mats thread - if people are happy to pay that much for a one off item with a high set up cost, then I thought for a small price they could have something more useful in more applications, which would be theirs to keep.
  25. Mines not broke, but then I dont get to use them often with 3 baby seats and all. If you have to pull harder then one finger then you got a seized cable or locking mechanism problem. Yes, reclining rear seats are just another sweet Stagea touch, designed by someone who actually thought about what might be useful. Now that you've broken it - what's it made of - plastic or metal?
