Dirtgarage Engine Shop Opening Soon
SysLink67 replied to Swiper the Fox's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Does croydon fit under that umbrella? I respect what you are doing. Thats why I have just open my own workshop complete with Full CNC mill machine and 800mm bed lathe, Bi-metal band saw, hoist, Tig and mig etc etc so i can complete engineer any part to my spec which includes making a torque plate for my RB26DETT which no snapper head machine shop over in WA seems to think in important in rebuilding an engine.... -
I hope they are ADR approved..... I just bought a set. If not insurance with not cover vehicle in a crash.

hey sent you a PM, have you got it yet? -
I don't know your background, or where you were bought up or in fact how much "street experience" you in fact have. I'm not sure if your Wigger or any other of your derogatory comments were aimed at me. But to clarify what I was saying was " to be very cautious of how situations NOW days can escolate very quickly". Also from my experience young teens / guys don't stop at getting a person on the ground but keep going which usually leads to several kicks to the head and face. I hardly think that this kind of situation would allow the victim to make a call to OOO and the very fast acting WA police service to arrive and remedy the situation. I don't endorse weapons, what I will say is if you can't get out of the situation either leg it and make sure you can get away or if you do confront them make every contact towards the other person as if it was your last. I'm not saying come back with spiderman or SMS a 1000 habibs or anything. and as a side question if a bunch of guys came at you with no exits how would you deal with it? you seem to provide an open dialog on how things shouldn't be done, shed some light with your "non wigga" ways how would you deal with it.... perhaps you would go Gandhi styles? , your would get down on all fours?, plead to their sense of humanity? (I take no liability for lack or speeling:) or grammar) C . B . F

I used to go to TSHS too. abit rough when I used to go there. Now days people tend to fight in packs like COWARD DOGGS. They also kick you while you are down and kick into your head so you can have possible skull fracture and possibly cause a blood clot in the brain. So I know these days the way things are is, when you commit to a fight you have to also go 100%, conserve your energy and do as much damage as possible in defense to the other person or persons in the fight or you might find yourself sucking food through a straw in ICU. Damage can include (kicking knee cap off to one side, gouging the eyes out and punching the neck hopefully causing damage or occlusion to the wind pipe)

Hey jarrod I have FC datalogit with upgrades etc.... have you got a laptop? I would be willing to let you use it as long as I'm there. cheers rob Road tune styles.... least this way you can learn about your own PFC. The reason behind me buying the Datalogit was the same reason as you... GETTING THE F^&KED AROUND by "high performance specialized import super spec tuning work shops" and paying top dollar for the privilege. email me at [email protected]

So besides the weight reduction and bling factor of Ti are there any other + ve's? - Its very expensive to get it , if you can get it.... - Reguires extra attention to manufacture items = head damage ( It's ok for those with a welding background / Eng and then have a good quality TIG welder and bending equip and skills to do it) - Also isn't Ti very Brittle, which might not be an issue with track only cars but surely not street cars. I haven't looked into my metalurgy books recently but it doesn't Ti have issue with the whole Heat / cold factors hense increase brittle factor with age.... Could be way off..... I was thinking of using Ti myself but found 304 SS to far out weigh the total pros of Using Ti. I hope you do get to do your pipe work of out of Ti. would be interest to see results.

That pricing looks familiar to a site in the states that can provide all that. Also there are two places in the UK that do it day in day out. One of the UK guys is an ex formula 1 engine builder / machinist and the other place has been pioneering machining and building race engines since the 70's... its just the cost factor to get it there etc... I just want a guy that has a proven CNC program for the RB26DETT head with bench flow results. As for all the other bits n bobs a local machinist can do all the rest of the valve train installation and I would provide parts etc.... Need to find someone the a up to date Serdi machine and a RB CNC program with flow results to back it up. Easy said then done. rob

Yeah I noticed that too. Two years old I would be interested at a grand or less for CNC porting (knife edged etc) But, would want before and after bench flow results of CNC porting to be used before sending the head over there.

I think importmonster has a far superior layout then slidewize and alot more interactive features. The biggest one being your in control of the bidding function and alot more easier to search for items then thone are in a set menu like Slidewize. Importmonster has got big ups
-
That won't fit a R32 Mate. Not sure if it will fit a R33 or R34 sport you will have to ask around matey
-
I have got an account with import monster, yet to use it but it look very well sorted. I will have to see prices vs a few other services to make decision. I have had recent bad experiance with my normal japanese trader who fell back on his "disclaimer" when the shit hit the fan even though I have been loyal it seems to have no stock so nor do I. The whole idea besides having access to the japanese market is having a person provide infomation to you that allows you to make an informed decision. The problem is when the infomation is wrong YOUR THE ONE LEFT HOLDING THE CAN, OUT OF POCKET ETC ETC..... Hense trying other service providers. cheers Rob

Correct me if I'm wrong Richard aka BB. I think it was you that once said "you shouldn't wrap your dump pipes cause it can cause cracking and increase metal fatigue by keeping the heat in the dump pipe by wrapping it"? Is this correct? if so what can be done to keep heat out of the engine bay? Also does the price of the Tomei dumps justify the performance gain? The people that have fitted the Tomei dumps notice a "significant change" before and after fitment? In terms of less spool up time? cheers rob

I was actually going to buy some of these : (a) If they did infact reduce rpm on componets at high revs, and (b) Where lighter so engine could rev faster on the basis of reducing rotating mass. But I'm yet to have this confirm that the factory items ARE NOT TO BE CHANGE AS THIS CAN ALTER BALANCES WITHIN THE ENGINE THAT CAN CAUSE EXCESSIVE WEAR AND MAY CAUSE OTHER PROBLEMS. I'm not sure but I don't think many of the High HP cars run after market pulley configs? Maybe ask Paul? or SK or Proengines ETC....
