  8. Thanks for that info Gav. So from your exp with standard 2.6, Jun 2.7, my HKS 2.8, and an RB30 at the track what would be the strengths and weakness's of each? standard but built 2.6 - pros cons Jun 2.7 - pros cons Your HKS 2.8 pros cons and most importantly RB30/26 pros cons I was leaning towards a HKS 2.8 kit with my 2860-5's which I already have and I was going to get uprated valve train and run 272 / 272 10.5 cams with apexi power fc D-jettro The reason / goal was to get a very response street car that is built tough is realible and can do 10's in street trim and maintians good driveabilty.
  9. Does anyone have a HKS stroker kit fitted to their R32 GTR that can run a 10sec 1/4 in WA...... besides ant scali ( xspeed ) Jonn have a fully built HKS Kit in his 32 and gets 11's and I'm pretty sure Gav does aswell.... Surely there must be one. From what im reading atm a RIPS RB30/26 is the best bang for buck... but like a few people have said you have to a head rebuild, port n polish and then there's the matter of finding someone that can tune it and fins the right set of cams to run and setup. Still don't know which way to go.... Want 600HP at the wheels, want a 10 sec 1/4 mile and a very reliable , drivable street car.
  10. what made you use super tech valve train? used this hardware before? cheers rob
  11. any experience with supertech valves?
  12. Hey, Just a few questions : what brand springs? and valve train etc? guides..... gasket brands? who made the adapter plate for it? who built the engine? brands use in engine internals? Comes with balancer? brand? Rated too? What HP spec is built for? rpm? what cams? what head bolts etc were used? can you supply a receipts for all parts and for engine build?
  13. Hey Jonn, you have a step 1 HKS stroker kit in your car... having seen all the rips engine packages , costings and this thread would you buy another HKS stroker kit or a RIPS built RB30 if you had to do it over again? Surely your car with a stroker kit can atleast reach a 10 second pass? Rob
  14. What mods would be suggested to a R32 GTR's suspension? ATM I have tein HA coil overs and I just replaced most of the front bush's with nolethane items. I also run 255 x 40 x 17's on 9inch rims. any advantage in replacing the standard sway bars with after market items? I also have front and rear struts. cheers rob I just want it for street use and I guess tidy up the handling abit, make it more responsive ( around corners , speed of steering etc without killing tyres. I'm good with engines but no exp with suspension.
  15. Have you got a website for them by anychance paul?
  16. anyone ever use super tech?
  17. Hey Rob, how long would that engine last for doing 1/4 mile pass's of 8.7 sec? Is the car drivable on the street? ie the cams aren't so lumpy that you need a skippers chair to sit right. What kinda boost are you running through this " street car" to achieve that 162mph? What do you define as a street car and in particular what are the specs of that one that does 8.7 secs? kerb weight? cheers rob
  18. Hey Paul, Just wondering why the change of config to your engine? I'm assuming from this thread you are getting one for yourself : http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/Hk...-K-t225501.html so are you for or against stroker kits? As a side note when I was looking into engine building options for my GTR it came down to not wanting to bolt on a block from another engine with a adapter plate and then having a hybrid engine that may produce alot of torque at lower RPM but I think detracts from the original GTR concept. But at the end of the day it all depends on what goal you have in mind and what application it will be mainly used for. I for one will be going the HKS stroker kit route. Although with a few twists thrown in in the hardware department. My aim is to make the car as response as I can. Hence larger capacity, low mounts and spool the turbos up as quick as possible whilst having the surety of being able to rev it to 9000RPM+.
  19. Hey Noy, Funny you should mention that. Yes I will be able to do alot of items in carbon fibre soon. PM me for details cheers rob. or email [email protected]
