Rwd Or Awd. Which Stagea Is Better?
Silverback replied to stageaC34's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
Whether driving a RWD or AWD Stagea, the key things in determining car control are the skill of the driver, the prevailing conditions, the speed of corner entry/apex/exit and understanding the capability of the vehicle you are driving. As an illustration of stupidity regarding driving, I am reminded of a time when a workmate drove us back to Canberra after a drive day at Eastern Creek. We were in a late model fairmont, and as we came into the first roundabout into Canberra I was a little disconcerted that my mate was entering the roundabout at too high a speed, this was confirmed about 2 seconds later as we plough understeered into the gutter on the side, completely stuffing the suspension in the process. When I asked WTF did he think he was doing, he replied "I thought the traction control would be working"!! Looking incredulously at him after that comment, I then informed him that the traction control stops wheelspin under acceleration, and only operates on the rear wheels -
Pity I missed it. I had everything organised for the first date, including getting the new suspension in, and the new centre bearing, only for the rain to come along...... Pity I couldnt make the meet, still there was some compensation in going to the MCG to watch the Wallabies beat the All Blacks! Will be there to catch up with you guys next year (if not sooner). Speaking of which, maybe a run that gets the sydney guys down and the ACT guys up. Mmmmm anyone thinking Kangaroo Valley?! Prime Stagea country. The Sydney guys could take the trip down to Wollongong, up macquarie pass. Stop for a pie at the top of the road. We could meet up in Moss Vale then head down to Nowra for a cruise. The Sydney guys could head home either via Wollongong or back up the Kangaroo Valley road. Food for thought.

Pics & Spec Of My Rb26 Stagea
Silverback replied to RSVFOURUK's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
Some serious mods since you first got the Stag. Well done, everything upgraded with practicality and street cred. Respect. -
I managed to pick up the suspension from Marc's first Stag that met an untimely end. I have the same setup as tangles I think Front and Rear Bilsteins Adjustable front swaybar Rear swaybar Standard Springs The ride is definately firm, and you feel the road more in normal driving. The cornering is MUCH better. It is much flatter through corners, and driving in the wet is reassuring. The suspension soaks up large bumps much better. Its taken a while to get used to, but I definately prefer it to standard. The new Auto Centre bush has really helped reduce the driveline vibration and movement. Next thing is to hook up the new head unit, and hook up the IEBC and DFA........Better get a soldering iron!

Geez, Marcs Stag looks great, hey. Dont know whether it was me sideways in the wet.....but I couldn't say it wasn't me......... By the way Andrew, my heartiest congratulations to you and your partner on the arrival of your son, Rohan. He's a good looking rooster too!! Well done

I logged in tonight to find a splash screen on the front saying that tomorrows show and shine is now on Sunday, 1 July. Has anyone else heard anything, as I am coming up tomorrow. I can be a little flexible with my plans, how does it affect you guys?

I have Din Guage from a GTR at home. I bought them on the hope that they would fit right in by plugging the senders into the back. If they are not there, that puts a bit of a dampener of things. I would love to know definatively though. Can any of the guys who have the full service manual do a bit of research? I was attracted to the guages coz they are carbon fibre surrounds, which suits my Dayz with the Carbon Fibre Kit. Would be interested to know what would be involved in fitting them.

Skylines Australia Show 'n' Shine 2007
Silverback replied to GoldZilla's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
Unfortunately, Marc's sweet as RS4 S is not coming up due to a prior commitment. Cathy and I are coming up to visit friends, so we will pop in and see you all for a while on the way. Got to coach the young fella's football team Sat morning, so wont be up there till early arvo. Picking up my Stag tomorrow after getting a new centre bearing fitted and the front suspension lowered. Cant thank Marc enough for all his help. He is an absolute champ. Looking forward to giving it a good run up the highway without the vibration created by 5mm play in the bearing!! I'm pretty sure that Andrew will be busy & not sure about the other Canberra Stagea fans. Hope that they can make it if they are able. -

Spotted Marc2's yellow RS4S at his work today. He has put on the best set of wheels I have seen on a Stag. It just looks perfect. Hope he can put on some pics soon for Y'all to enjoy.

How To: Stagea Headunit/stereo Removal
Silverback replied to AlexCim's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
Any chance of some pics?. I just bought another head unit to replace the pioneer carrozzeria unit (spaghetti City), and the new unit has all the wires connected to a plug. It sounds like this could be just the thing for an easy fit. That is apart from pulling out the spaghetti for the GPS, Satnav, DVD player, TV, Aerials etc :-( -

I'm interested in going along. Marc might want to bring his shiney new RS4S along as well. -
I kinda like mine the way it is, you can still hear it within the car, but only at full noise......I do like that sound! Specially those freeway merge lanes when it tops out in 2nd........you know what I mean

Who Registered "stageasaustralia.com"?
Silverback replied to munchstagea's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
You just need to create some structures to store the content really. Basically a home page portal, with separate sections on Stagea specific stuff, thats easy to read, navigate, search and use. Maybe something like: Home Page Introduction Gallery Technical Articles How to's The RB25DET & RB26DETT Suspension Plus a few others, but you get the drift. Showcars (Maybe have a voting button for each photo & then people can vote for their favourite Stag in the gallery - one vote each only!) INSERT YOUR OTHER STUFF HERE You would still want strong links with all things skyline though...that goes without saying of course. I'm always going to be hanging out in this site too. Of course, there is the technical hosting bits, the IP bits, E-commerce bits & so on, but its not like it's going to be as big as myspace, so maybe its just a bit of local hosting till it gets some momentum & content. It will be cool anyway for those who want to do it.......I'm a bit busy right now lol Anyway, just a thought where's the smiley with the thoughtful tug of the beard............. -
Saw Terminals tough silver stag at Fyshwick, then bumped into him at Hardly Normals. Went home via the Mustang Nationals. Wow, some awesome examples of Henry's finest. Still wouldnt trade my Stag for one.........except maybe the genuine Shelby Cobra Jet GT 500.

Stagea Compliance In Nsw/sydney
Silverback replied to Angus Smart's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
It is likely to be a high spec turbo model, as there are limited numbers of each type of vehicle allowed to be imported under the SEVS scheme, and a base model with few features is unlikely to be worthwhile to bring in, (i.e. not enough profit to be worthwhile), or difficult for the RAW to convince DOTARS that it classifies as a SEV (Specialist or Enthusiast Vehicle). If you want to know what constitutes a SEV here is a link to the relevant section of the DOTARS website http://www.dotars.gov.au/roads/motor/sevs/index.aspx -
mine looks good. I have the engraved unicorn - sweet.

Spotted my Stag with new wheels. Just so if any of my fellow ACT stag owners see my wife driving it, you will recognise it.
