Will 17"r33 Rims Fit Stagea? (off Set)
Silverback replied to bluesky4me's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
I am pretty sure that the R33 GTR wheels (forged BBS) have the right offsets +35 for the stagea, and are a straight swap. Not sure about other standard type rims though, although I would assume that they have a similar offset too. -
Looking forward to seeing the pics of the new beast soon

How did you go with the compliancing work Tim??

I have to admit to gawking at my own car sometimes!. My daily driver is the XR6 Turbo, and sometimes when I am travelling home from work, I catch the back end of the Stag as Cathy drives it home. Its an awesome car to look at as its rolling. Cathy is always getting checked out and I get a lot of looks when I take it out and about. When the sun hits the silky pearl it looks scweeeeeeetttt.

Have had the exact same problem before. I cleaned the inside of the battery terminals with sandpaper to remove the hard crust that forms from the oxidisation at the terminal. That fixed it for a while, but then the problem resurfaced. I then pulled the other plug that sits on the positive terminal and gave everything a good go with the sandpaper. Hey presto, no more problems. I used to work at a battery fitting specialist earlier in life, and you would not believe how many people came in to us after spending hundreds on new alternators, electrical components etc. You could see that the battery would be in clean enough condition, but the hard surface that forms after a couple of years can stop the energy flow from the battery. Of course, when you checked it with a battery tester it would come up fine. I'm not saying that there might not actually be something else wrong, but start the search for the problem at the source & you could potentially save a bit of cash..... and thats gotta be a good thing!

I think the new Stag looks pretty good. I actually dont mind the new dash as its a bit more contemporary than the Series 1 & 2 and, hey, you cant stop progress! A couple of observations on the VQ25DET model are: Advantages: New platform improvements in interior design switch to VQ engines (consistenly ranked in the top 10 engines in the world) Reasonable increase in torque - up from 362nm to 406nm. Something the s2 NEO suffers from is a lack of torque to overcome the weight of the Stag, so this should improve the standard amount of torque Disadvantages Cost. Likely to be significant increase in cost for Series 3 Stags Availability of cheap part upgrades for VQ (RB series has heaps of easily accessible performance bits) No real increase in funtionality (series 1 & 2 Stags already highly spec'd) Its still a Stag though, and likely to grow in popularity once they are complied for OZ. My 2c worth.

Mate, that is sweet! I have always loved the BBS rims for the Stagea, and am still looking out for a set for mine. I too bought my Stagea "blind" from a dealer in QLD. At least it is nice to know that you have some comeback to the dealer if you have any problems, but I have had very few with mine. Good value too! I would recommend that you give the power steering a complete flush out (not just changing the fluid, as reqd for compliance). Also, keep an eye out on the oil cooler seal and the CV boots for the first couple of months. Because the cars tend to sit around a fair bit in Jp, the rubber seals can lose their flexibility. Have had no other issues though. I notice that you have the Dayz front bar too. Nice. Good on you mate - cracking good Stagea!! :-)

It looks sweet with those BBS wheels. Enjoy!

Importing Or Buying Already Landed
Silverback replied to fly510's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
And why would you, its a beauty. I bought the Stagea for the long term. Even now there are few cars in 07 that have the same features standard, yet with plenty of easy to access grunt. There's also the "difference" factor which I like. -
Had exactly the problem you first described happen to me in the middle of turning at an intersection. I started it again, and away it went. I then started to notice that the radio was cutting out as I was driving, and then when I stopped it sometimes wouldnt start again. I just pulled off the battery leads, which I had cleaned up fine, but then pulled off the plug connected to the positive terminal and it really needed a good clean. I sanded up the terminals to ensure a good connection all over, and reconnected. No probs so far, but will post again in a week or so on how it went.

Act Member Needed To Check Out Car For Me.
Silverback replied to Factory 5's topic in Australian Capital Territory
Yeah, I would be happy to have a look. I am on honeymoon for the next 2 days, but will be back in Canberra on the 17th. Let me know if you would like me to arrange for you. I can take digi photos, video etc if you wish. Cheers, Luke -
I am 6"2 and my Stag has got the sunroofs. It took some time to find the right position so that when I hit a decent bump my head doesnt hit the roof. It happens rarely now, and usually after I take it for a drive after my wife, and I have to reset my seating position. I went for a ride in the back of my Stag the other day and was surprised how comfortable it was with the rear seat laid back. Sure, the leg room wasnt terrific (although I have airbags in the backs of my seats), but it was pretty comfortable. I have actually got used to sitting much closer to the wheel when driving and I enjoy driving it like that. I have found my 6 YO can sit behind with no worries. In fact, he loves the centre rest in the back, and has a kip on it on longer drives. You should consider though that the Autech RS260 and RS4S have seats which are lower, and, in the case of the Autech, do not come with sunroofs. I know Tangles has extended his seat rail, so he might be able to give you a few pointers too. Thats my 2c worth to consider. Good luck with your decision.

Some F##cker Vandalised My Car
Silverback replied to Wildcat's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
Sorry to hear about your car being vandalised Kirstie :-( That sort of stuff makes my blood boil! I agree with the comment about Karma, but it would sometimes be nice to be able to personally introduce him to his Karma Hope that it fixes up easily. People should really stop being jealous of other peoples stuff. Grow up people!!!! -
First thing is to check whether the car loses all "Power" i.e. loses dash lights etc. I had this on my car twice before it stopped completely. First thing I checked was the battery. It looked clean as, but I cleaned the inside and outside of the terminals, reconnected and "hey presto" good as gold. It also reset my ECU too! It might not be that simple in your case, but it might be worth checking.

I reckon the RPF1 DEFINATELY looks much, much better on the Stag.

Yippee!! Received mine today! Looks great Pete, thanks for all of your work in getting such a good quality product in the end. It was a bit of a battle by the sounds, but appreciate you sticking at it. Cheers!
