How about a graduated two colour effect with a graphic design. You could respray the top of the car something complimentary to the silver, say a deep purple, with a nice graphic along the side to form the seperation. You can respray the bonnet to match, which would give you a classy new look, without the pain of engine bay, inside of doors etc. You could cover the whole lot in clear. Some very trick custom cars have this look. B)

Harold, Yep, thats mine. It would be nice to check out the other Stageas in the ACT too (at least two that we know of).

Another pic.....

We had a get together yesterday in Canberra. We had Terminal's very nice RS4v, Marc2's hot looking Series 2, with 18's and a full body kit, and my Rs4 Dayz edition, with the full body kit and carbon fibre kit. Here is a pic. Terminal will be posting some soon too.

Hell Yeah, I want one! Awesome effort guys!

Luke, Thats great mate! I reckon just the unicorn would be sweet, something subtle, but classy. If it was engraved on the black anodized surface, it would stand out perfectly! I reckon that would rock, hey BJ B)
-
Man, engraving the unicorn would be so cool!! I only meant it as a stir, but if its a possibility...... Anyone know who could vectorise the unicorn..... We could then use it to create stickers etc....

I have a cover note with Unique for $1135. 40 yo, never had a claim, A1 rating etc etc. Seems a bit high, Shannons was higher.... although I would reconsider if they come up with a better rate

Marc reckons he's got his email address, so lets hope he is able to come along. Looking forward to it.

Saw Marc today, he should be right for Saturday. If we can get Tee along it should be great. Apparently there is another Silver Series 2 in town, so Marc is trying to get in touch. Looking forward to posting some great pics for everyone. B)

Hi Timmmay, Yep, Its still got the Navi system in it. Of course, its all in Japanese, so not much good for here unless I can get the right software etc. It would be nice to know if anyone has had any experience in either flashing or firmware upgrading, adapting an existing system to fit etc. Its got a TV tuner too, which Is also in the same boat. Cos its got the 6"screen, I reckon I could update the head unit to one of the new DVD players, send the output to the screen and fit up a Ipod adaptor to run the Ipod Video. Should be trick then! That blue one looks good. I was interested in that too, with the leather and woodgrain. If its in a similar condition to mine, it will be a damn good pickup.

After upgrading my car to the XR6t, Cathy got my old 96 EL Fairmont. While it was a good old bus, we spent over $4k on it last year just keeping it going. Combine this with the tailey rear end in the wet, and it has to go. I keep up to date with most things related to cars, new models, street machines, exotics etc, and I had been thinking about what sort of car we should get Cathy to replace it. Selection criteria were..... Be a performer, Be practical, look cool and be different. We've got 2 kids, a girl of 12 and a little bloke of 5, and so being practical is important. My next door neighbour has a 32 GTR and I was chatting to him one day. His suggestion was to check out the Stagea. I did a fair bit of research (thanks to you guys ) and realised that the Stagea was just perfect!!. This is going to be mainly Cathy's car, and she absolutely loves it! The kids love the sunroofs and the reclining rear seats, and Cathy thinks the way the turbo sounds is cool. I am looking forward to getting the suspension done soon, as I love rapid driving on good roads (under the right conditions of course). Thanks for all your advice too, its been great.

Updates On The Jun 2.7l Staj Build
Silverback replied to StageZilla's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
Hi Stagezilla, Have you finished the build yet? Any more pics -
Yeah, but I picked it up from a dealer, who arranged the compliance. In any case, the Compliancers are required from DOTARS to destroy the Xenons . I know, I know, how bloody stupid!!. I feel like writing a letter to these people at DOTARS, pointing out the stupidity of the whole situation and requesting that they at least reconsider for future imports. I will be interested in seeking their reasoning behind it. I mean, I understand the seat belts, the child restraints and the other stuff, but the Xenons.............
-
Unfortunately, you dont get to retain the Xenons. Apparently, the people at DOTARS make the compliancers take them out and replace them with Halogen bulbs <_< . Something to do with the adjustable headlights. Bloody hell, our Government vehicles (Astra's) come with adjustables standard. How anybody could say that Xenons are not more effective than Halogens is ridiculous. And of course, being a wagon, you might put a load in it occasionally (!). Rather than being able to adjust the headlight height from the comfort of your dash, you have to put up with everyone flashing you, and potentially being blinded. I am however hatching a plan to return it to its natural state. Stay tuned......
-
Don't worry Terminal, we are not in competition with each other, everyone else just thinks theyre cool!! Whether its a Series 1 or Series 2, we all admire each others rides. I too like the Series 1 Headlights, I just wanted the Neo and the tiptronic really. Your Stagea is awesome, love the work you have put into it. B) I've still got lots to do..........

Japanese Stagea Service Manuals
Silverback replied to funkymonkey's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
I'm in too. I've got a 99 Series II RS4 V so will need the update manual. Cheers -
Drove my new Stagea back to ACT from Gold Coast over the last couple of days . Just kept getting better and better. Made a big difference going with Premium unleaded. Poor girl must have been busting for a decent run. First impressions: Shocks need to be changed immediately! The compliancing tyres are woeful through corners. Seats are very comfy on a long trip. Got used to no cruise control after a while. Fuel economy is pretty bad. Looking forward to freeing up the exhaust, putting on a bigger intercooler and transmission cooler. The stag definately turns heads, got a couple of waves from skyline drivers. What a great first drive!
