  1. Can someone send me some clearer pics? I'm curious on the seams and general fitted look. Also, does the handbrake boot have the same black stud clips to do it up ? Let me know and I'm in for an R33 set. PM with order instructions. Thanks for organising too.
  2. In most cases, I already own these parts in average condition, so I am only looking to get ones in better condition. Parts are for a 96 R33: 1 - Those rubber mats that go between your boot-lid and spoiler to stop it from vibrating when you turn the music up. I have the higher squarish spoiler, not the early model curved ones. Perhaps both mats will fit regardless. Also looking for an alternative idea to these mats. My originals weren't put back in after a respray. 2 - The inside bonnet mat. I cut mine up while washing with the hose. 3 - Passenger side guard in black. I'll need to pick this up, so Sydney locale suitable. 4 - Keyless entry remote case that goes around the key.
  3. Hi Possumm, Let me know if you want to sell that guard.
  4. Thanks to the person who dented my guard in the carpark last week. I'm now in the market for a mint condition black guard to bolt straight on. Will pick up in Sydney metro. Cheers.
  5. Dude - Try fixing it yourself first to see if it is a simple solution. Refer to this awesome tutorial: http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...howtopic=143965 Let us know how you went either way. Good luck. PS. If this solves your problem, you need to buy this guy a few beers and dedicate $225 of your life to serving this forum. We may call apon you at any time.
  6. Hi guys, Looking to replace a coupe passenger door and guard soon. Are there any considerations in differences between getting a replacement series 1 over a series 2 ? I have a feeling there may be something different about one of the molex plugs stopping a straight door swap. The reason I ask is because I want to know if I have to hunt down a specific model (for the door and guard) or will anything do ? A secondary concern I have is how hard it will be to transfer those after market sound deadening mats over. I think they were called Dynamats. Its been years since I had to deal with them, but I remember they made a huge difference and were expensive, so I'd like to save them. Not sure if they require a heat gun to melt them off or some scraping too. Perhaps some of you have been through this before and may have some experience to offer. Replies appreciated.
  7. Hi SkylineGeoff - Can you suggest where I can go to pick up one of those placards ? I don't think my car has one of those anywhere, and if I do get one, I'd want it to be relevant to the car, not just going up to 15 by 6 inch wheels. I thought they were generally stuck to the inside of the drivers side door or the glove box.
  8. Noise issue revisited: I had the spigot bush, thrust bearing and clutch changed. The quiet whirring noise was still there when you leave the clutch out, but the scary noisy whirring disappeared. A few months on and I get the loud whirring noise every cold winter morning when I start the car. Almost like there is no oil in the car, or the oil hasn't warmed up yet. Then I start noticing that the noise only happens when I downshift into 2nd mostly, but also down to 3rd as well. Also, it seems to happen when I push the clutch ALL THE WAY IN. The clutch does its job when you push it in a little, but I still push it further down for completeness. So this is when the bad whirring noise happens. After seeing my mates new Honda Accord Euro, I had to drive home tonight disappointed in my crunchy whirry Skyline. Felt like retiring and getting a new luxury auto - but only for about 5 minutes.
  9. KE55E - tried looking for Insight Motor Sports in the white and yellowpages (as well as on the net) and couldn't find them. Do you have any details ?
  10. I've got a similar noise...but its actually coming from the window opener switch... could that be your noise ?
  11. Careful you don't drop it. Get it fitted before something else happens to it...
  12. Same here... Especially when they hang out of the car next to you at the lights shouting all sorts of things at you. Could be compliments, could be insults, usually instructions on what I should do for them when the lights go green. Either way I'm glad when its just me and my car alone and in peace.
  13. I guess it all comes down to how good their quality assurance systems are - If they chase up on each claim made against them or not, or just raise their fees to counter-act the losses.
  14. You wouldn't need to use two belts in the 40K period though. I reckon they are conservatively rated at 80-100K so if you just change it every 60K you'd be more than cautious. Just have to make sure its not too tight or loose or else that'll influence its lifetime.
  15. A friend of mine had a timing belt snap in a Nissan Exa. Bent his valves and half the engine needed to be replaced. A few thousand bucks later, it was fixed. Suffice to say, its better to change the belt more often with a standard belt than to chase a more expensive belt and hope to use it longer - of which endurance levels are impossible to predict based on price.
  16. The nerve of someone (I don't care who - customs or courier) damaging your cooler and then not saying anything... There must be so many people out there who don't complain about these things for them to think they could get away with things like this...
  17. They say history repeats itself so imagine what we'll be getting ourselves into when it does ??
  18. Anyone who has been on a riders course, be it the standard required courses or an optional advanced riders course knows that they are excellent learning value and walk away as better drivers too. If they do hoon around a bit here and there (human nature), at least they are looking for both their own limits as well as the legal limits. This learner girl probably just watched too much tv and paid one too many visits to timezone and wanted a piece of the action - but after just a computer test, she was legally granted to do so. I'd like to see some of this government money go into paying for the courses for everyone so there's no excuse for at least a standard minimum level of competency on the road. Make them pass a skills and safety course before they think about showing the world how good they were born with driving ability. Perhaps give them more of a head for street-wise maturity. This airhead obviously didn't learn anything from the first experience, so had to go through de ja vu. From what I saw on tv, she didn't seem to have snapped out of it yet either. Used to be funny watching the P-platers pour out of the local high school with the pedal to the floor...smash into the pole...get out shaken...look around to see if they got busted by the peers...then jump into the car and take off slowly... Yep - A lesson was learnt with each generation of year 11 students. Just have to hope that they don't learn at the expense of someone else.
  19. Sciby - "not just giving them a 30 question true/false quiz and 20 minutes in a car with a half-bored public servant who's ticking 'yes/no' boxes on a sheet." I LOVE that description matey...can't stop cracking up at it ! Obviously I got that guy too...felt like stopping to get him some ice cream to cheer him up ! Hey just on this L-Plater who keeps getting busted - Why don't they just impound her car to get her off the streets ? The authorities can sell it and keep the proceeds for some drivers education project or something... I hear they are strict on repeat offenders, but I still see the car under her carport. If the authorities don't want to do anything about it, its not like anyone would flog it - too much of a speed camera magnet by the sounds of it... I wonder what the ZX forums are saying about this...probably a little upset that their insurance premiums just went up by 20% - ours will go up by 5% now anyway.
  20. An excellent debate. I have a few points to throw into this one: - If I live in a family who all have Ferraris, would I be forced by society to go buy something below this standard, just because their perception is that they are unsafe cars to have as a learner ? - Is it right to restrict all new cars to 110km/h just because anything over is deemed illegal ? - Is giving a slow car to a learner a long-term solution, or are they just going to keenly look forward to the day they get their unrestricted license so they can experiment with what the big deal is all about ? Like smoking, drinking, sex, etc - Is it right to blame inexperience, but at the same time have big name car manufacturers making commercials that boast speed, drifting in the desert and burnouts ? Things made out to be a thrilling experience. - Are we destined to become a society who all have the same slow and safe car just because we have evolved by placing so many restrictions on ourselves ? How close would that be to just having everyone in the 22nd century sitting on some electric train ? - Is driver education really working ? Or does it just promote overconfidence ? Perhaps it just gives the learner behind the wheel the confidence to start advancing from the basic use of driving a car, to experimenting with limits like speed and steering. - It seems we are already a society destined to be flooded with 24 hour peak traffic and a top speed of 40 km/h. So why not let society progress as slowly as possible ? - Perhaps the only way people are going to learn to be accountable on the road, is if for everyone who kills someone else on the road out of sheer ignorance for the law - they get their whole family taken to death row ? - Why do I know so many girls who slip through the cracks with law enforcement of road rules ? How many warnings should a cute chick get ? - Is the need for speed and power a bad thing ? or are we just stretching our arms out ready for space-flight ? Hey dude ? Where's my car ? Hoo-hoos ?
  21. rs73 - Its also better for your health if you try to recognise an attempt at humor (however bad you might think it may be) and chill out a little. Laughter is good for the soul man. Slight subject change - I just saw my first VX Commodore V6 turbo. Very nice. Are the Falcons V6 or straight-6 turbos ?
  22. rs73 - You made more of a prejudicial statement by jumping to the conclusion that I must hate either Ford or Holden - or both for that matter. You also made another prejudicial assumption that just because he works for Renault, that he's not allowed to be into Fords and Holdens. What a way to kill off your own thread. bump
  23. Has anyone ever watched the type guy try and strip a low profile tyre off a big wheel ?? They're like RRRRR ! RRRRRRRRRRR ! HHHHHHHHHHH ! RRRRRR ! With two or three leveraging tools. And thats only a 17 inch wheel... [...looks at the 44 pic again...] AAAAH Who cares ? That looks fantastic. Engine must be a foot wide to allow steering though...
  24. I thought they now had radar-jamming detectors. The more detect/jamming layers you go, they then make a layer on top of that to detect that one too. Didn't think anyone used those any more for that reason.
