I think I'm gonna try the one that offers the pellets you drop into the tank...someone reliable has to do it, so it may as well be me... you get enough for a consistent use, which is a lot for just the R33, so I'll toss one into my bike as well and see what becomes of it...if there is gonna be any difference, I'll notice it far more on the bike... if I remain sceptical and unimpressed, I'll return it within 90 days as guaranteed... just gotta try and figure out how I can secure them so I can easily pull them back out of the tank again with string or similar...

Just in... Apparently car manufacturers are starting to use these devices...

[A further interesting read into that article] " The Director was a bit of a non-starter. The high purchase price limited demand and ensured only a handful were built. But the "mainstream" Brock model of the time was the VL Group A; a dark red, be-spoilered, V8-powered road weapon that was vintage Brock. It was also contemporary Brock, because that pesky polariser turned up in the specification. What Brock did was specify two distinct Group As. One was the standard car with no polariser, the second was called the Group A Plus Pack, which had the polariser fitted under the bonnet and an "antenna'' that looked suspiciously like a decal (and rumored to be fitted on the bootlid, under the spoiler on some cars). And that was about it. Several hundred extra dollars bought the polariser and little more. Except it also bought Brock's signature. Without the Plus Pack fitted, Brock refused to put his signature decal on the car; for some buyers, that made the polarised version mandatory in order to ensure the car was a real Brock Commodore. "

An interesting snippet of a story I found on a similar device called the polariser : " Specifically, the sticking point was Brock's embrace of the controversial polariser. This little device, said Brock, effectively tuned the molecules into one another and made a more powerful, efficient and "together" car. Tosh, said Holden. Plenty has been written about the split (Bill Tuckey's "The Rise and Fall of Peter Brock" is required reading on the topic) but Holden essentially told Brock that if he went ahead with the Director and the polariser, he could forget about any more Holden cars to modify. I spoke to a guy who has used them extensively on his customers cars. Actually he called me on my mobile from his home (after hours) and spoke to me for over an hour about the product, his experiences, results, etc Not many people would clock up their home phone bills for something dodgy... When I asked him why NRMA never reviewed it, he told me they tried to once and reckon it didn't work. The story goes - you need to install this sucker to something that touches your engine, as the more vibrations the device experiences, the better it works... That is why they specifically say to install it in the engine bay and on/near the engine... Most people go home and install it in the boot near their fuel pump, but that part of the car is pretty smooth, so it doesn't do much at all back there... Taking this into account, the reason why the NRMA boys couldn't get it to work - they had it hooked up sitting on the floor ! Makes me think about all those assumptions we make because we think competant experts are telling us what to think...then you look behind the curtain and see some ignorant humble fool... I guess the fact that the whole system gets coated in tin and reduces pinging would be enough to make me want to try it... Still haven't heard anything from anyone who might be in the know...be it mechanics, petrochemists, metallurgists...

Need your public support, plz read!!

Sounds like one of those things that every logical person would agree with, but just won't happen - so we live with it Tell you what though, the person (or organisation) that pulls it off would make history... I see on-site performance mods sales pulling in big money to said innovator... -
Intercooler able to cool intake air to ambient temp?

I also know a guy who has retested a situation where he was pulling negative temperature differences...I don't know how much of a difference (I assume it wasn't anything significant) but he is very thorough and swears to it. He's the type of person who would do nothing else in his workshop for a week until he has resolved something. I remember he mentioned the type/size/quality of the FMIC core had a lot to do with it. -
I am interested in this too - Do we have enough for the 10 person discount ? (Funds/Deposit by the end of July is fine with me) - And I'll be picking it up too QUESTION: will this kit fit in the back seat of an R33 ? (No Not permanently - just for transportation ... hehe) I'm thinking about the 90mm core version, but would need to know how efficient the core is to make that decision...Do you have any honest figures ? Otherwise I'll probably be content with the 70mm core...

Sorry, thats the only pic of the headers they had... Makes perfect sense about not touching them till you upgrade turbo, etc

I am looking into the ratio of performance to cost for a set of these... I couldn't justify the cost if it was only for another 3kw

Was wondering if anyone has any experiences in putting extractors on an R33 GTS-T... It would be great if anyone has actual advantages/disadvantages to share... To give you an idea, a set of stainless steel extractors from NZ would cost 1378.38 (which includes $60 freight) If they are worth it, perhaps people may be interested in a bulk purchase...

Any chance you can get extractor manifolds for RB25DET ? -

muffles sound like fiberglass packing does... not as efficient as fiberglass but won't melt away on a turbo car either...

First thought when I got into the drive-in was "What's with all the speed humps ??? "
-
Yeah top night guys. Hopefully I won't have to wait for another 20 years to go to the drive-in again...although...back then I remember the screen looking godly - at least 10 times bigger... My first appearance so was great to meet some of you. Felt a bit left out next to Majanal and Duncan. If only I thought of the cardboard and tape spoilers. I could have turned my R33 into an R34 for the night...or a Ford KA Laser 5-door hatch. Next time bub. Must admit, I went in there a little biased of the movie due to all of the bad reviewing it got from in here. But after letting the movie hold its own, it was some pretty good entertainment still. A little more cultural I thought having a black Vin Diesel - very Miami Vice. But what the f*uck was that ending ? He's in an American muscle car ...YES... he got a pretty good runup along the shoreline on that dirt road which didn't seem to have too many bumps in it ... OK still possibly believable... he then pulls a perpendicular launch up a tree and clears at least 200 metres off shore to land on a boat and pulls up on a coin so as not to fly off the other end. I know I have been reduced to wearing glasses at times due to working with computers all day so I may have missed the jet engine and gull-style doors he may have used...but did I also forget my physics and reasoning ? I know I know - Hollywood... Thats why I'll let them have the jump and the landing...just not the 90 degree turn from runup to launch... Overall a decent movie, but I'd still prefer if MAJANAL organised an SAU movie production night where we make an Aussie equivalent. Fast and the Furious meets Mad Max 2 meets Herbie the Love Bug. (meets WWF ?!)

I'm also bringing a booster pack if anyone needs it... see you there !

KNAT - if she lets you go ... hehe

I hope the cops don't get involved tonight. It'd be a waste of time if they start hassling us.
