It makes sense to allow for external cooling mods anyway, doesn't it ? The raising of the bonnet sounds interesting - I'm gonna have a look tonight... Doesn't it look like the bonnet is misaligned though ?
-
KNAT - I was thinking they should have a set of jumper leads coming out of the side, instead of the standard speaker... Or more realistically, a trickle charger cord you can plug into your cig. lighter to give you more time... Anyone know a safe way to pull off the rear-vision mirror and/or bracket ? hehe

Just confirmed the new session times - we're now on field 2 FIELD 1 - 730=OLD SCHOOL, 925=THE CORE FIELD 2 - 730=8 MILE, 940=2FAST2FURIOUS

If 2 movies are playing at the same time, is it just a matter of turning the car around to face the field/screen you want to watch ? then just tune your radio into the other frequency ? (taking a guess here)

Clutch or Thrust Bearing?
PuppaDuck replied to Jay95R33's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Thanks Sumo - I figure I drive it every day without a problem...I may as well take care of it and wait till I do the clutch some day... I'm also thinking about doing a lighter flywheel as so many of you have suggested...while the car is pulled open in that area... -
Whoever has some grease with the manager - can you organise a cluster of reserved spots for the club - front and center ???

I'm flexible on a time and day...although preferring Blacktown... So who's gonna be revving to the movie whenever they line up for a big race ? (I mean taking the opportunity to charge their battery - LOL)

Knight-Rider ! or the Wraith ! LOL

Ya know, every day I drive past that drive-in on the M4... and I say to myself "I'm gonna go there one day in the skyline - see how the 4.1 sounds"... then I say "probably flatten the battery in 20 minutes and have to call NRMA"... and have never found a reason to go... but this idea takes the cake...! One thing...Do we need to bring our own booster batteries or are we gonna hook em all up together like Ali G did ?! Would love to see the collections of Neons...

Would that be considered an illegal mod ? Perhaps a safety issue and a fine ?

Clutch or Thrust Bearing?
PuppaDuck replied to Jay95R33's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Having a similar problem when I reverse some times... getting a whiring noise while the clutch is half way out... put it all the way out, or back in, and it goes away... totally random for over 3 years...no problems how much are thrust bearings ? and is it something that is good to get done when the clutch is out anyway ? -
protecting the back of speaker from water
PuppaDuck replied to hippy's topic in Car Audio & Electrical
Those plastic bowls shouldn't vibrate... Especially if you can find one with a nice firm lip that'll keep it tight... Let us know what you do -
Quick question - where is the fuel filter ? and what does it look like ? Plastic/steel case ?
-
LOL - that hooting noise...

protecting the back of speaker from water
PuppaDuck replied to hippy's topic in Car Audio & Electrical
Just go looking around your room, work, etc and you'll find something that'll do the job... get a cheap funnel from one of the junk shops for $2 and modify that...(you might get two out of it to cover both doors) hell do the rounds in the junk shop and see what you can destroy for under $5 I'll keep an eye out and might pop past one during lunch to see what I can find for ya... Actually...I GOT IT ! Use a damn mouse pad...the black foam-based ones... I've seen a product in the states that uses cups made of this stuff...and they mounted the speaker in through the cup... but if you use your fronts for mega bass, the cups might prove a little restrictive, and you'd have to poke a hole through it anyway... so for your app (and going off the fact that its a custom jobby) you'd be able to engineer yourself your own version from the same stuff...and old mouse pads are all over the place... let me know how you go...! -
Paul Walker right ?

protecting the back of speaker from water
PuppaDuck replied to hippy's topic in Car Audio & Electrical
Hi Hippy... Are you talking about the water that might get on your door speakers ? Try and make a semi-curved cover that will steer water off from the top of the speaker - like the original ones did... Anything you put on the back may affect your sound - but it may also improve it (or be insignificant) so try out a few things... If you use flimsy stuff, you may hear it vibrate...so keep it solid... good luck -
looks good... are you going to add blue graphics to your car like that too ? compliments well I reckon...
-
Funny you mentioned the silver skyline with the blue lights... they copied your idea and went and made 2FAST 2FURIOUS

AMEN CYRIUS ! You definitely had fairies watching over your car mate... Best go to church every Sunday till the court case is over... hopefully those witnesses will secure the deal for you...

I have 3 friends who put that same product in 2 skylines and a commodore... The installer was also telling one of my friends that he had someone complain about that too (in a Camry) - while he was getting it installed...(and explained that he probably didn't use it properly - as an excuse) so all 4 people in question had the same problem, and got the same reply...that you have to activate the alarm for it to NOT drain your battery...which can make sense electronically speaking... HOWEVER...thing is, the 3 of the 4 I know would never have left their car without activating the alarm... so whether Stratties like it or not, that alarm drains the battery and even with a new battery, the car is dead (or low) after a few days of not driving it... because they install a lot of them, and most people drive their cars every day, the problem is hidden to them...with only a small handful of people actually going back to complain...the rest live with it...(I hate that part of the population) who knows, perhaps the alarm is great, and they use some super high-powered flashing LED which is doing all of the draining...or maybe its the sensor sucking the juice out of the battery... either way the package has a flaw and people should know that it will leave you flat after a few days of not driving your car...

BENM - that was a legendary response... thanks also goes out to JAY95
