  1. To add some info to this thread, there is no connector on series 2 non vspec GTRs. Although the wiring for the exhaust temp sensor and the bung is available to add the exhaust sensor, they've decided to remove the intake side all together. It is possible to add it though, if anyone can confirm what colour wires are on the factory intake temp sensor circled in red, that will a good start. The wiring diagram shows where that circuit is connected to the main loom which presumably does have the temp sensor wires. If anyone is bored and have a multi meter, a pin out of which pins on the connector are for that sensor would be even better.

  10. Hi guys, I'm looking for a decent RAWS workshop in SE or East suburbs of melbourne. Looked on the RAWS website and there's like 10 of them in this area Dandy, Clayton, Keysborough and Bayswater. Currently looking to import either a R34, series 8 RX7 or maybe a EP3, haven't decided which one yet but safe to assume most places that do jap cars can do any of those? I've only gone through compliancing once but didn't particularly like the work done. They were cheap but I couldn't really see what I was paying for. When I got the car back It just had 2 baby seat anchors and front tyres changed. The tyres used for compliancing were rubbish China tyres and they were asymetrical but put on the WRONG WAY, I didn't even bother going back to them to fix it and got a mate at bob jane to turn them around. Any recommendations? Positive recommendations only since negative feedback probably isn't allowed. Happy to receive PMs on workshops to avoid though. Cheers.
  11. Good to know. So looks like my application is still floating around somewhere and the process hasn't started yet If it takes up to 5 weeks, I guess I could be in for another 2 weeks wait assuming the paperwork was delivered within 10 days.
  12. I'm interested to know if anyone has dealt directly with DOTARS when trying to get a car imported. If so, how long did they take to process your application? I sent off a private import application form a month ago and haven't heard back at all. Maximum delivery time to deliver back to Aus was quoted at 10 days so I'd be very surprised if it didn't get there by now. I know they haven't processed it yet because they charge $50 per application and I see no charges to the credit card # I provided them. Problem is there's no way for me to verify if the paperwork has been delivered since DOTARS only accepts snail mail applications to a GPO BOX and I can't EMS it. Thought I'd get started on the process early because the car's rego runs out in November and I don't plan on renewing it. The sooner I get the thing outta here the better. They're really not making things easy. I can't exactly call them easily since they only list a 1800 number for vehicle import related and if I go through the switchboard I'll have to wait in queues and go through the auto menu. Costly at $2.50 a minute. :\ Any experiences with them would be appreciated.
  13. Cheers. Just the kind of info I was after. How do you say "Sea Post" in Japanese?
  14. I got a set of wheels I want to send back to Aus. How do people usually send big items back? I could send it via EMS. There's a limit of 30 KG and if I take the tyres off them they're easily under that. Then there's the issue of maximum volume allowed for the box which is also a pain. Is there a easier method to send them home? If anyone knows please help me out. Cheers, Mike
