Bump. Ive adjusted my idle screw so my car idles higher and the air con compressor doesnt make any noise at all now but the car idles too high so ill have to put it back down does anyone have any ideas why the compressor is silent with revs above 1100rpm but below is noisy and rattly as hell ?

I had problems with my old Silvia that are the same as your describing, it was fine on cold starts or in cold weather but would idle like a pig in hot weather and even stall, I was told it was the Idle Air Control Valve that was faulty so I replaced this but that didnt fix it, then ended up taking it to Unigroup Engineering and he put it on the dyno and played around with the timing and a few other sensors and it fixed it, so yeah maybe look into doing something like that.

Hey guys, first of all im sorry for starting yet another aircon thread in here but I didnt want to hi jack the other 2 threads, ive also done a search and havent found out too much more. Ive been getting a funny rattling noise coming from my air conditioning compresser in my 93 model R32 GTST when the aircon is on, it does this noise about 90% of the time and on some rare occasions it will go away for 5 minutes or so, the air is still coming out quite nice and cold inside the car. The noise seems to be the loudest towards the back of the compressor, I noticed today tho that it only seems to do this noise when the car is on idle (idles around 900 - 1000rpm with the aircon on) and if I use my foot to hold the accelerator down at about 1100 - 1200rpm the noise goes away completely, does this sound like the compressor is stuffed or is my car just idling too low when the air cons on? (I was thinking that because I have a Power FC that this might be making the car idle too low or something when the aircons on) Any feedback appreciated and I hope I dont have to have the compressor rebuilt at a cost of 1k+ I just cant afford that at the moment

I think my compressors on its way out too it makes a rattling noise when the aircons on but it doesnt do it all the time (about 80% of the time) sometimes real loud sometimes fairly quiet, I knew this would happen just as summers approaching and I dont have the money to fix it

R32 GTR injectors would be a good upgrade but you would also need the GTR resistor pack to go along with this.

I had a very similar problem recently where my turbo was making a really high pitched squeel whenever it got above 11psi, I checked the bolts holding it to the manifold and I could literally undo them with my fingers! Did them up nice and tight and now the noise has gone away completely so check your bolts and gaskets first

Ive always been wondering why is it bad to overtighten the filter?

High flowing your stock turbo should get you close to that power figure.

Cant Wash Your Car With A Hose...
barnoon replied to Modena's topic in General Automotive Discussion
Its for both the reasons you stated their, to prevent loss of business and the chemicals the carwash supplies you with are all designed to break down properly for recycling and most outside chemicals are not -
Wrxs Runnin 15psi And Sti Runnin 17? Stock Wth!?
barnoon replied to R34NRG's topic in General Automotive Discussion
Does does seem pretty high for a stock turbo hey I never knew they ran that much boost stock either, is it even possible to boost the stock turbo any higher then if they run 15psi standard? -
My 32 GTST's gauge never goes above 2 either... its been like that the whole year, I think most of them are faulty by now.

God I have a mate like this he drives an old 1970s Valiant Charger with a 245 Hemi and EVERYTHING else is a slow piece of crap to him, ive been in the car with him when he was beaten by another mates DEAD STOCK Gemini and he gets beaten by P plater girls in Barinas all the time, yet he still swears by his Valiant being the best and most powerful car on the road and sits on everyones ass telling them to get out of the way of his muscle car. Myself im not a fanboy to any particular car I respect anything with power and I wish thats how everyone else was im sick of bogans in their 40s yelling out "jap crap" when they go past in their auto v6 Commodores/Falcons with exhausts.

Cant Wash Your Car With A Hose...
barnoon replied to Modena's topic in General Automotive Discussion
Ive worked at a carwash for over 2 years now and I still get all these heroes coming in telling me they will use their buckets here and I cant do nothing about it (well I just turn the hose off on them mid wash and make them leave with a soapy car) 99% of carwashes wont allow you to use a bucket their and will have signs up stating so, everything you need is at the carwash, bringing your own products takes away a lot of business and while ur hogging the bay sponging your car down someone who is actually going to pay to use the proper equipment could be using it. The foam brush will NOT scratch your car if you rinse it with the hose beforehand (I agree it could scratch if you dont rinse it beforehand as the person before you could of left it clogged up with mud etc), ive used it on my cars for 2 years and havent got a single scratch, I also had my front end resprayed on my R32 and used the brush on it for months, not a single scratch again. I think most people just hear someone else go "yeah mate i used the carwash and now me cars scratched" and it gets around like that and people talk about it like the have firsthand experience with it when they dont know sh*t. -
