Mate I know everyone else has suggested AFM but I had the exact same problem in my R32 with RB20DET it would cough and splutter at about 3k RPM and putting the foot flat to the floor would do nothing then all of a sudden it would surge back to life it turned out to be my AFM so yeah it seems likely this could be your problem too.

Hey mate, how much more laggy was this then the stock turbo? Any idea when it made full boost, is this just the same as the GCG stage one hi flow thats $1950? Also any idea on how many kms the turbo has been used for?

Did you know that Whalan Reserve was formerly a 2 and 1/4 mile racing circuit used by the great Jack Brabham? The site was originally used by the RAAF as an airstrip but was abandoned after the war in favour of the Richmond base. In 1948, it was converted into a speed circuit. Ive got an R32 but mine started doing that and it progressively got worse over about 2 months ended up replacing the AFM and has been fine ever since, its a very annoying problem as it can be so intermittent so its hard to diagnose.

Spotted Matboy driving on Carlisle avenue in Mt Druitt, also spotted another Gunmetal R32 GTST plates FLY-58Y (or similar) on Carlisle ave with GTR badge on rear and ugly front bar with driver driving like an absolute tool changing lanes real aggressively and speeding around everyone, have seen u driving like this many times mate, what u trying to prove ur just embarrasing urself

Gday guys, Im after a carbon fibre bonnet to suit a R32, would prefer someone in sydney for this, or if not carbon fibre a stock bonnet in gunmetal grey that MUST be in very good condition with no dints at all with the gtst lip welded off as I have a GTR grill in. Also after a passenger side guard for a R32 GTST must have no dints, Im located in Sydney and will travel around Sydney to pick up.

My R32 GTST has developed the exact same problem the last few days, it will do it nearly 100% of the time on boost in first gear, 50% of the time in 2nd and less as I go up in the gears, I thought intercooler leak too and checked all my silicon hose fittings etc and couldnt find any leaks but I think ill replace them all anyway as some of them look quite old, anyone have any idea where you can buy these silicon joiners from, can you just buy them from Autobarn etc?

Gday mate nice car you got their, R32 GTRs go for around 20 - 30k here depending on the condition of course. Whats the Skyline scene like over in Wales, I lived in the UK for 6 months back in 2003 and dont remeber seeing too many Skylines. (not that I was looking though)

Sounds a lot like AFM related problems to me, maybe try cleaning your AFM with some electrical contact cleaner, I had very similar problems with my RB20DET and ended up replacing the AFM and all has been fine since.

I usually let the car sit for about 1 minute then drive off try keep it below 3000rpm till the Power FC hand controller says the waters about 60 deg then ill take it up to 4 grand till its at its normal operating temp (around 72 deg) then boost till my hearts content.
