Well, looks like things are going to be ok. I spoke the the bloke that hit me and he seems keen on buying whats left of my car and making it a hill climb rally car. I have organised for a replacement car which has been freshly imported from japan and is already complied. Hopefully by next friday it will be mine and ready to be transported to canberra by truck. Here are some pics of it. -

My car is 100% legal, registered and had the compulsary 3rd party insurance. No problems there at least. My main problem at this point is that as soon as I tell people that it is an R32 they are not interested in quoteing. A&A have been the least helpful at this stage. I called him and asked for a quote. He got all my details (including the cars) and said it would be no problem. I pay to get the car towed their and then he tells me that it is not a write-off, but he cant repair it. Then he says that he cant give me any sort of quote. Anyways. Im talking to my lawyer tonight so ill see what happens. -

Most insurance companies have in their policies that if an accident is not your fault then they will help you recover costs. In the money they charge is also a fee for them doing this. That way they make their customer happy (and make sure they still have a car to insure with them) and also make a little cash. Im with justcar though so I dont have this in my policy. Things just went from bad to worse anyhow. I got a call sunday morning from the guy that hit me. He told me that the truck he was driving was actually his personal truck and not his work truck. Oh, and that he has no insurance. I got a quote from tony ferugia today that says the car is an economical write-off, and ill be getting another one tomorrow. I guess ill have to find a good lawyer. Anyway guys, ill keep ya posted. -

I just found out that in Just Car Insurance's policy it says that unless I have full comprehensive insurance they will not chase the other insurance company for me. Fair enough I guess. After im back on the road I will be going to full coverage. They did send me an example of the letter I have to write so it should not be a problem. -

I got the price quotes from just jap. All second hand parts. If they want new parts prices then it will surely be a write-off. Im not too worried. In a way I hope it gets written off for a few reasons. 1) It will be about 2 - 3 weeks getting repaired due to the fact the engine has to come out, engine bay striped and the front of the car unstitched. I will be without a car for about 2 months if they try to fix it. 2) Ill be able to buy a 2 door or mabye chip in a bit more cash and get myself a 2 door GTS-4. -

Yeah. The radiator is sitting flush with the timing belt cover. The water pump and fan are both wreaked. The price for parts atm is $250 for each headlight $165 for each guard, $300 for a bonnet, $900 for a front cut with the radiator, a/c condenser and all that. The engine will have to be removed, the engine bay striped and then the entire front from the pillars forward unstitched and removed. This is all assuming that the chassis is not to bent. At $75 - $100 an hour it is gonna be a huge job. -

I'll have some photos up after lunch. I have a strong feeling that its going to be written off. If that happens then at least I will be able to buy a 2 door! -
Hey guys. I was driving home today on the Monaro Hwy, when I turned into the right turning lane to go up Long Gully Rd (the tip road) When a truck failed to stop at the give way sign and took me out! The front of the R32 is all smashed up. No more front bar (after I just got it fixed!!!) and the new FMIC is also stuffed, along with the radiator, battery, both headlights, engine fan, bonnet, 2 guards. I dont know if the other dudes insurance will wright it off or repair it (at least he had insurance). I guess we will just see what happens. When I called the cops I asked them to put CJ (my boss) as the rostered tow truck. That way I dont have to pay much for the tow and the car is kept in our storage yard. Ill have pics to post up tomorrow.

My nans going to queensland for 4 weeks. Sorry mate. -
The car is between 0% and 25% of normal operation temps. 5 minutes and the problem seems to be gone. It is definately NOT the intercooler. All hoses and clamps are good. The car does not stall so the pipes are still there. This was the first thing i checked. Not yet but i will now We had a boost gauge hooked up to the car when we were tuning it. It was around 12psi. It usually goes a little past 7. My instrument cluster does need replacing however because the speedo, oil, and tacho are all slightly off. Oh I forgot to mention that my car is already running a GTR fuel pump. Thanks for the quick replies guys!

Hey everyone, I have recently had a FMIC installed on my R32 GTS-t. The car seems to go heaps better but on cold mornings when I try and give it some boot it seems to boost up well but then at about 4000rpm the factory BOV will sound and I will loose all throttle and revs will drop. I shift down and the car is back to normal. This may happen twice in a row but then it seems to go away as the car warms up. It almost feels like an intercooler pipe has blown off but the car doesnt stall and the problem goes away. I have tried to search but I have no idea what the problem is. The car is running between 12 and 14 psi on a bleed type boost controller and may be overboosting but I cant tell without a boost gauge. Thanks

Just Incase Anyone Is Interested...
noakespg replied to noakespg's topic in Australian Capital Territory
Damn... If you still have it I would be interested in taking it off your hands (ill give you some cash for it tho!) The mechanic cut the bottom pipe because he said it wouldnt fit. But now that it is all in, it needs a bit of extra length. Damn mechanics -

Hey everyone, I dont know if anyone else despises this live journal fad as much as I do but I have found a good use for it. A couple of weeks ago I started one up mostly to keep a writen and photographic record of my R32 modifications. If anyone wants to have a read just to kill some time or to make sure they dont make any mistakes that I have made feel free to have a look and even post a couple comments. The site is: http://noakespg.livejournal.com/ BTW. It starts at the bottom

OMFG! HAHAHAHAA!

If you got a custom exhaust manifold made up that would feed the exhaust gasses into the turbo quicker it should, in theory, make it spool up quicker. Has anyone got any experience with this?
-
Nope. VL Turbo. Just was an old engine, heaps of mods, no ECU change. Heaps of black soot on the back of the car.
-
LOL. It is still a step up from my old car. 250km to a 65litre tank. And thats if I was trying to drive econimically.
