  1. A huge congrats to Elias . I still remember Elias coming in for the first time about 5 years and asking me what i thought about turboing his S2 . We took the job on and built what turned out to be one very reliable fast car . Johns correct in saying that engine has done over 50 thousand race and dyno klms. I have never seen a car that has been thrashed so much . John , Elias has always spoken highly of you and your talents . Well done mate . The car has also run a 10.7 sec 1/4 mile time ( slicks ) , an every day street driven S2000 world record . It has been an awesome test bed for researching intercooling , cooling systems , inlet and exhaust manifolds , turbos and engine components for Plazmaman . Thanks to all involved ( Tom - 20/20 smash , crew chief Rob - the towie , John Boston , Scott - Insight , Con - diff technics ) with the vehicle , with out your help , this would not be a reality for Elias . Alex and Oyay Plazmaman Racing
  2. Big problem in the industry.Every one wants big pipes big throddlebodies big intercoolers. Our opinion they are going backwards. We did heaps of testing with Jim at Croydon Racing Developments in the early nintey's with intercooler piping, with some surprising results. The fact is performance is torque and horspower, not just horspower. Each car is individuly modified and it is a black art to perform the set up.Thats why it is best to stick to the reputable shops with years off experience. At Plazmaman our research is never ending. To answer your question 2.5 inch piping should flow app 650hp, taking into concideration how many bends, center line radis off bends and where the bends are situated plus a few other factors. Cheers Oyay (plazmaman)
  3. You can't go wrong going with Richard at ARE. Real techinical talented and dedicated to his craft. And a good bloke too.
  4. Plazmaman himself here , We here at Plazmaman hold world records and have won every thing there is to win using the turbo engine . Alex is in no way ever rude or arogant to any customer ( sometimes way to generous ), but bends over backwards to help all customers and share his vast experience in making maximum horsepower . We at Plazmaman know just about everybody in the industry , incl mag editors , race teams , sponsors , promoters in Australia and around the world etc , and we are all good friends and we try to help each other . Wouldn't it be nice if people of such experience got on the forums and shared their experience with you guys . But unfortunately they will never do that for fear of being slandered and their business reputation damaged . The other week we were inundated with calls for R34 plenums , so in order to help the Forum members , Alex put out a call to get a car in . We were going to deck it out with our best products because we would use this car for our promotion , and all we asked for in reply was $600 to cover part of the costs , because in our experience when we dont charge the customer , they tend to not respect the product . In other words they need to pay a bit of hurt money . We found the coments disresectful and negative . We at Plazmaman only concentrate on positive markets . Bob should have said , ' why ? , you guys should do it for free ' , and we would have explained . Just remeber there has always been a Skyline lurking around in our workshop for the last 6 - 8 years . We have won awards for some of the finest quality products for the skyline range and have the record for the most powerful standard skyline in Australia . We have our own new R33 monster hp project car so lets concentrate on more interesting and positive thoughts. PS . Thank you for the large amount of support emails from skyline enfusiasts , offering to leave their cars . Regards from all the team at Plazmaman
  5. How bout trying to falk out 2 million $$$ + in equiptment and 12 years of 16 + hours a day 7 days a week with no life , so that you guys can have a top notch product on your vehicles and enjoy yourselfs -- SURE IS A GREAT REWARD .
  6. Polish plenum using MOTHERS mag and aluminium polish . Small circles using a quality polishing cloth we found is the best way . Other polishes are scratchy and dull up after a while . Our instruction leaflet with the plenum stated to use sealant . If you havent ,that is definately the problem . Also idle speed motor do get clogged with soot and carbon - maybe clean and blow with air hose . We have had news today that a customer has made 695 Rear wheel hp with one of our plenum / swept back kits on their car . We will hear more shortly . We are proud that our products make big reliable horsepower .
  7. Hunting idle is also caused by too much ignition timing in idle map . Dont know if this is the case in your situation , do you have after market computer ??
  8. Hi Plazmaman here , The whole system was designed as per Nissan factory specs. Nissan factory did not use any sealant on there factory gaskets . We recommend a sealant (threebond) on the gasket - it is a must for high boost applications . Also check initial gasket thickness , might be a hole in the side . We will be happy to assist , we have a large team that is willing to help you with any problems relating to our range of products . Any dramas please contact us 02 9725 1728 . We have never had a problem to date .
