hi all i have been having a problem with my skyline for a while now and i think i have it done to the airflow meter or ecu does anyone have any past experiance with a blown airflow meter or ecu, what are the simptoms of this problem. mine is missing a bit and blowing abit of light grey smoke on idle and if you Push the accelerator in quick it blow a a far bit and sounds like its running 2 rich. have cheaked watertemp sensor and replaced it with one i know that works, tested thermo time switch. Is working and that the cold start valve is not stuck open. Cheaked air regulator that no air can get through after warm up. please anyone with any experiance with the l24e, has any airflow meters or ecus please contact me on here, email [email protected] or mobile 0431103293 Cheers guys

bugger donno what shipping would be like???? be good to get a ecu and air flow meter that i no works also should i get some sort of risistances throught the potentiometer cos im geting the same reading 0 resistance while the flapes being moved then it goes to no connection when its fully closed at idle... it sounds like the air flow meter hey? cheers luke

thanks man i thought that from the begining. Either the ecu or airflow meter i will try my old ecu before i buy a new airflow meter thanks again for the Info cheers

Hey guys i was wondering if there is anything different (In the engine department i know panels are differ a bit) between the 1982 R30 Skyline and the 1985 R30 Ti model. (Both are L24E engines) I wanted 2 use the computer out of the older one 2 c if would fix a problem. I have the Datson Nissan Skyline manel for the 82 model would engine, ecu and airflow meter tests be the same. Does anyone know the differences in models Any help would be grate Cheers B)

o and when the i put the key to start with start motor disconnected im only geting 8v in the circuit between ignition switch and control unit power sourse shouldnt i get my battry voltage?? (wich is 13 volts) heatercoil of thermotime switch bimetal circuit has no risistance at all but a full connection does that sound wright?? also im not geting circuit between air regulator and fuel pump?? does anyone know if a 82 model r30 skyline are the same machenically 2 the 85 model as i have an 82 model as well and was wonding apart from looks could i use engine parts such as ecu and such?? or are they differ

lol sorry man ok i unpluged the 35 pin efi harness and i tested air flow meter potentiometer sliding resistor and circuit coming to the computer but i am geting no connection untill i push the flap abit inside the hair flow meter then it goes open circuit i dont think thats spose to do that anyone know anything about that???

Thanks for your help i really hope its not the ecu water has been getting in nere it but i was sure it wasnting coming nere the computer but it was sitting outside the house when i bout it.... where is the o2 sencer on the l24e?

ok this is geting really frustrating..... i got in the car thismorning (motor cold with temp senser connected) started idle well aprart from a slight misfirer racing a little cos it was cold then the idle came back to normal after a few moments. gave the engine a rev and it picked up nice and smooth. I then let it warm up to opperating temputure. Idle was still fine but as soon as i gave it a suden hit on the gas it coffs and spluters a bit and back fires out the throught the intake. Then i stoped the motor disconnected the water temp senser for the computer started the motor back up witch took more cranks then ussaul (usally starts straight up) once started had trouble keeping idel and amited a white/ grey smoke out the exorst. but seemed to rev alright and drove without hesitation...... i have tested my water temp senser with a multi meter and it seems to be working (got resistance/temp output from nissan manual) i replaced it anyway with another tested senser of my old skyline buy testing in diferent temp water but gave me same reading as the one in my car ??????????? anyone got any idears ?????????

the cold start in jector is only activated before start up wwhen u turn your key doesnt rung when car is running.

have tested the water temp senser with another one and senser is working but as soon as its hot its runs to lean could it have anything to do with the idle mixture screw on the air flow meter i was thinking it could of been changed because of the gas set up also the ruber plug was missing... i was gunna go out and buy a co meter to tune it but i was wondering if there was another way of turning it??? anyone got any idears on fuel consumption??? cheers

and its still got plenty of power??? what sort of fuel consumption should i expect from the l24e its got a 5 spd behind it???

hi my skyline is running shit again i donno y when i plug the water temp senser in while its heated up it starts running 2 lean i think because it back fires through the air flow meter with it unpluged it runs better but with a grey sorta white colour coming out of the exorst..... also its started running ruff i bit on idel someone help it has been runing on gas does anyone know if theres any other mixure setings or if anyone has had this problem i would apreciate the help thanks

hi all thermotime switch working but shouldnt afect when motor is running as it is only acdivated when the keys on the start and only if its water is below 10 degrees just rebuilt the distributor the trottle top speed switch was coming on to soon richening the fuel 2 much should it only be acdivated when the trottle is at the floor ??? or when anyway it rus really well till that full trottle switch is on then it hesitates and shit leads are new and plugs just pulled the the fuel rail and injector assembally off my other r30 i think its in a bit better condition its a serise one 82 model they would be the same wouldnt they they look it to me but better hoses and shit also y will my car use more fuel with water temper senser disconnected anyone got any thoughts i wouldnt think it would cos it runs so nice soon as i plug it in it runs rich and f*ks up have tried another one still the same thing?? any thoughts?? O and how much fuel should it use its a 5 spd manal been recondition motor and box and irs lsd? -

should the full trottle switch only come on at full throttle?????? or what trottle possision should it come on and will it hurt my motor not running a water temp senser?? it runs perfectly without it... runs like shit even if i connect a different one??? -

hope these pictures get me some more replys its like i been talking to my self on this topic? its going really well does anyone know what i should be geting on fuel per km???? its a fairly fresh motor. also y does my motor run like shit with the water temp senser pluged in and water is hot i have installed a new one and it does the same thing its like when it warms up its keeping the fuel to rich but the senser is fine and has been tested ???/ anyone got any idears??? with it disconnected it runs really well will it hurt the motor disconnected? luke
