r33 eyelids, what do you think of these??
P1E replied to PashaK's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
I did some research and not having parkers is a defect. Back to the drawing board... -
I have DTM 18s, as you can just make out in my avatar. Today I went and got two quotes to have some scratches taken out, and received two completely different prices. The first quote was around what I expected at $100.00 per rim. However the second place quoted $300.00 per rim, saying the paint is worth over $1000.00 / litre. Does this sound right? If this is correct, will the $100.00 job ruin the look of the wheels? I can't really justify spending $1200.00 to fix a set of rims that aren't thaaat badly damaged, especially when I could pick up a set of 34 GTR rims for ~$2000.00. Decisions, decisions.

... I think. I haven't seen any, but there's always a web between my bonnet and windscreen on the left hand side. I wash my car every couple of days, and each time I clean the web completely out, but it always comes back. How can I get rid of it?

There goes the resale value of my eyelids. Is it legal to convert your parkers to indicators? Because that would be perfect for my new front bar... -
Shit. That's huge. Do you leave your car in many carparks?

What's it cost to get a professional to do it?

I was getting that error heeeaaaps a week or so ago. Seemed to happen in Firefox more than in Internet Explorer. -
I have one in two-tone silver. Let me know if you're interested. Mine has been professionally cut to fit a FMIC also.

I have Nismo eyelids and a Nismo bonnet lip for sale right now if anybody is keen. [The front bar and grille are also for sale.] -
Ended up going for 35s all over, care of Auto Perfection on Main North Road.

I am in the market for a Power FC. If you can do a better price then Nengun Performance, I'll pick it up. But they have the Power FC with Hand Controller brand new for $1100.00.

I will take some up close pictures when I have a spare minute. There are a few scratches on the bottom where it has hit a couple of driveways and whatnot, but other than that the paint is as new. Will officially be for sale in around three weeks.

Shiiitchyeeah. This could be yours.

Ahoy. I am swapping rear bars in a couple of weeks and will have a 400R rear bar for sale to suit R33. It's 9 months old, high quality, two tone silver and has only a couple of light scratches on it (from driveways). Hoping for a quick and local sale. Asking $350.00 firm. Any takers?

How much are you looking to pay? I have stock M-Spec. skirts for sale... I am located in South Australia.

I could hear a difference originally, but I bought a better connection plug (at the iPod end) and I can't notice the difference now. But maybe you would. I'm not sure.

There is a wiring diagram on this forum somewhere showing how to connect an AUX input to Pioneer headunits (which beats paying $100.00 plus for the proper Pioneer cable). I did this and it cost me less than $5.00 for the wire, connections, etc. I have run the cable from the back of my deck, behind the dash and into my ash tray. Originally I had my iPod dock sitting in my ash tray and I just jumped in the car, sat down, docked my iPod and off I went. Two problems with this though: 1. If people see the iPod dock in your car, chances are they're going to break your window to look around for the actual iPod unit. I should probably add that you cannot close the ash tray with the dock in position. 2. My iPod got scratched to shit. So, I ended up cleaning my iPod with BRASSO to remove the scratches and then I bought an iSkin, which protects the unit and looks preeeetty damn good too. Only problem with the iSkin though (which I realised after I had bought it) is that the iPod will not dock with the skin on. Considering I bought the skin to protect the iPod in the car, removing it each time I wanted to use it in the car wasn't really an option. I ended up taking the dock out of my car and just having a plug sitting in my ash tray. When I get in, I open the ash tray and plug in my iPod via the head-phone socket (sounds just like line out to me). Easy as pie and 5,000 songs (plus a bit of pr0n) in my car. And when I'm not using the iPod, I close the ash tray and there's no sign of the installation at all.

I am interested in: - Driver side power window button, inc. loom. - Cigarette lighter (not the whole socket, just detachable part). - Front indicator covers, assuming you have the round spot light type ones. Clear preferred, but may take orange depending on price. Please PM or post prices for these items.

Looking for a favour. My Pioneer head-unit has been installed in my R33 with one of those metal sleeve thingos, which aren't supposed to be used with R33s. As a result, it looks stupid and I can't fit the plastic surround around the Pioneer face. I've had a quick look and I can't work out how it is supposed to be mounted properly. autObarn want $80.00 to fix it, which is ridiculous. Can anyone give up 15 minutes and help me sort it out? I have the forks to get the head-unit out of the sleeve, but I'm not sure what other tools etc will be needed. I live 10 minutes from Glenelg.

That's stupid. Maybe I'll get 20% all over and just remove the driver/passenger tints when I get defected. What does it cost to re-tint just these two windows? Am I right in thinking that Regency don't really check the rear windows? If Regency ping you for tinting, do they send you home or allow you to rip it off on the spot and still pass?

A full 400R kit will set you back around $1200.00, or less if you shop around, buy second hand, etc. Paint and fitting will probably be near $1000.00 for a professional looking job, but you can prep. the bodykit yourself etc. to save some pennies. You could probably have the whole thing painted and fitted for a couple of hundred bucks, but it would look like shit. My 400R rear bar will be for sale soon if you're interested.

What side of the city do you live on? If you're not far away, I have a digital camera that you can use...

 Have you all been defected and/or ****ed around for having front window tinting? As long as it is 75% or higher, it's legal. It's all here: Window Tinting: 44. (1) Glazing used in a windscreen of a motor vehicle must have a luminous transmittance of at least: (a) for a motor vehicle built after 1971—75%; or (b) for another motor vehicle—70%. (2) Windscreen glazing of a motor vehicle must not be coated in a way that reduces its luminous transmittance. (3) However, subrules (1) and (2) do not apply to the greater of the following areas of a windscreen: (a) the area above the highest point of the windscreen that is swept by a windscreen wiper; (b)the upper 10% of the windscreen. (4) Glazing used in a window or interior partition of a motor vehicle must have a luminous transmittance of at least 70%. (5) Glazing behind the rear of the driver's seat may be coated to achieve a luminous transmittance of not less than 35%. (6) Glazing in a side window forward of the rear of the driver's seat may be coated to achieve a luminous transmittance of not less than 70% or, if another law of this jurisdiction allows a lesser luminous transmittance, the greater of: (a) the lesser luminous transmittance allowed under the other law; and (b) 35%. (7) Glazing that has been coated to reduce its luminous transmittance must not have a reflectance of over 10%. (8) The luminous transmittance requirements in subrules (5) and (6) apply to a vehicle instead of the corresponding requirements in the relevant ADR. (9) In this rule: "glazing" means material fitted to the front, sides, rear or interior of a vehicle, through which the driver can see the road, but does not include a coating added after manufacture of the material. "luminous transmittance", for glazing, means the amount of light that can pass through the glazing as a percentage of the amount of light that would be transmitted if the glazing were absent.

How much for just the signed paper?

I am getting my car tinted next week and have a couple of questions. I know that 75% fronts and 35% rears are legal, but I have heard from a couple of reliable sources that Regency will fail a car for having any tint whatsoever. This doesn't really make any sense, but then again I have heard so many stories about Regency that it doesn't really surprise me. What if I took in a copy of the legislation? Or would that just fire them up? If I am going to be ****ed over for legal tint, I had might as well go 5% all around. Is darker tint more expensive than lighter tint? Any advice?
