  1. Ah, makes sense. What oil should I use?
  2. I need some advice on the following. Car is an R33 GTS-25t. 1. I have been told I need to replace my diff oil. What do you all use and recommend? Also, what exactly is a diff? Where in the car is it? How do you change it? Etc, etc. 2. I need to top up my power steering fluid as it has been leaking. Again, what do you all use and recommend?
  3. I need pictures of worked, wide-bodied, dished 180s to prove a point. Strawberry conversions are fine, as long as the base car is a 180. Show me what you've got.
  4. Went to autObarn today. They had the bar listed as $600.00 in their book, but said they couldn't do it for $600.00 and didn't know how much it'd be. But, they also said there was only one supplier in Australia for this particular bar, so jager's source who can do it for $430.00 is selling the same bar as autObarn is for $600.00+. And Jager, the S1 Trust bar looks pretty much like a stock S1 front bar, which is why you ended up with a S2. Looks good though...
  5. Picked up 5L of Motul 5W40 for $60.00, as well as some Redline Light Weight Shock Proof... All going in on Thursday. I was told that with Motul, you could get away with changing your oil less regularly... like every 10,000 KMs. True?
  6. I don't really know, it was Motul something 5-something or something? $60.00 for 5L, as opposed to $65.00 for Mobil 1.
  7. My car has Mobil 1 engine oil in it currently, and it's time to change it. When I went to autObarn to pick up a container of Mobil 1, they recommended getting Motul instead -- which seemed strange, because it was $5.00 cheaper. So, what's the go? If I'm already using Mobil 1, is it okay to change?
  8. Sign FX are completely independent of SAU and they pay as much to SAU as they do to Trust, Apexi, HKS, etc, etc... Christian is at present looking to have a run of SAU stickers made to sell through the forums, on cruises, etc.
  9. Sign FX stickers are completely independent of SAU and they pay as much to SAU as they do to Trust, Apexi, HKS, etc, etc...
  10. I trust the oil pressure and temperature gauges.
  11. What are the benefits of using aftermarket oil pressue and temperature gauges? Is it just for looks, or are the factory gauges lacking?
  12. GRAHAM WEST WORKSHOPS PTY LTD, 668 Marion Rd Park Holme 5043. (08) 8277 5688. Firstly, no, I don't work there. I was actually recommended to go there by my mother, of all people. I needed a globe and, as you all know, I don't know shit... so I needed to know what to buy. Now, I had imagined this place as being an old person 1920s mechanic for some reason, so I went in with pretty low expectations. They didn't have the globes I needed, but were about to get them in... within two hours. I picked up some wiper blades too and they put them and the globes all in for free. Turns out they own the AutoSalon dyno and know a fair bit about Skylines. Offered discounted prices for dyno runs etc as well because I mentioned the forum. So, yeah, two thumbs up. Did you all know about this place? I drive past it all the time and never really looked in.
  13. It's definitely that one. You just need to shop around. Good luck with the sale.
  14. Are you willing to separate the TV from the stand and digital box? And is there an Australian warranty included? How much would you want for the TV alone? Keep in mind that there are pretty huge differences in RRPs and actual prices with this sort of equipment. I think I've seen this particular TV for ~$5,000.00.
  15. I'm actually keen on a 6230, so no. Sorry.
  16. If you have other obvious defects like a BOV or a loud exhaust, then go for it. They only take a couple of minutes to remove...
  17. http://www.nokia.com/nokia/0,,5879,00.html Brand new handset, boxed, complete with manual, charger, headphones and software CD. Comes with Nokia Care Promise warranty. $500.00 ono. Pick-up available within South Australia, or postage at buyer's expense.
  18. Call Just Cars a couple of times and take their best quote. Then say another company has offered you a better price by ~$500.00 and they should match it. But I don't understand Just Cars. I was quoted less to comprehensively insure an R34 GTR than an R33 GTS-25t. My R33 GTS-25t isn't my daily driver, so I don't have it comprehensively insured. If I still have it in three years, I'll spend the money I saved by not insuring it to buy a second one. Then I can race/fight them. It's not worth paying $5,000.00 when you have to do $7,500.00 damage in your first year just to break even.
  19. You're 15, you "should" have a reasonable grasp on the English language by now. Pot. Kettle. Black.
  20. I'm not worried that I'll be defected, because it's pretty much guaranteed. I just want to know what I'll be up for to clear it...
  21. Smooth sailing...
  22. So, say I do replace the injectors and turbo... When I cop a defect, do the injectors and turbo have to go in order to swap the ECU in order to clear the defect?
  23. Throw your car into neutral whenever you see the 411 and you'll be alright. This solution can be hard when they're following you though. It's not that tough to swap over an exhaust to clear a defect (especially if you have the original), so don't worry about it. That said, if you drive your car around under 2000rpm and frequently visit dangerous areas (411 wise), then go for the stock unit.
  24. 1. Just to confirm, PFCs are defectable (in South Australia), correct? 2. Assuming they are, how difficult/expensive are PFCs to remove when you cop a defect? Can you put the standard ECU back in ten minutes, or do you have to re-tune the stock ECU and then re-tune the PFC the day after as well? 3. How does the revolution limiter/lock work? I know you can lock your revs to a certain RPM, but how exactly do you do it? Is it a thirty second task? Is it equally as easy to undo? If it is, what stops your mechanic etc from taking it off? Are they commonly used as a secondary method of theft provention? 4. Where is the cheapest place to buy a PFC with hand controller? 5. Do I even need the hand controller? Is the hand controller useful for an average person, or would I need mechanical knowledge to benefit from having it? 5. How much extra is the boost controller thingo and is it better than the AVCR or other cheaper alternatives? 6. I've heard rumours regarding a new model being released soon, complete with hand controller at a lower price point than what they're currently selling at. Can any of you confirm this? TIA for your answers.
  25. My car was $650.00 from Sydney, from memory.
