Does anybody know what happened? According to the 411 on the scene, two Skylines were racing on Sturt Road, between Morphett and Brighton Roads, both travelling at ~200km/h when they both hit a third car. One Skyline went through a brick shop-front, the other through a bus shelter and then a fence. Both Skylines were written off. Apparently 159 metres between the start of the skid marks and where one of the Skylines stopped. All I know is that one of the Skylines was white. Does anybody know who was involved and if they are okay? Also the third person, who was, according to the 411, on their way home from work? Hope everyone is okay. Doesn't sound good. And expect even more hell from SAPOL in the upcoming weeks. They weren't happy. 'Two Skylines, which shouldn't even be in the country, were involved... Blah, blah.'

72 in 60 is only two demerit points, plus a third for breaking a probationary licence provision. So you should have a single point remaining. Or is this not your first offence?

FLO: Thank-you for your advice. I contacted the Federal Office of Road and Safety and my problems are now sorted. Let me buy you a beer if I ever meet you. There is no legal requirement for a vehicle to retain a compliance plate after registration in NSW and mine was for one reason or another removed. DOTARS have approved the manufacture of a second compliance plate, meaning I will be able to (finally) trasnfer my car to South Australian registration and start spending money on modifications rather than interstate telephone calls to Government departments.

I am trying to make my car legal. Where should I mount my boost gauge? Do the 411 know to look for hidden turbo timers under your dash when inspecting for defects? Is it common to be defected for window tints only? Does anybody want to buy a HKS SSQ BOV?

I've seen a silver VL Calais used as a bait car on a number of occasions, with keys left in the driver side door or boot lock. Or maybe the owner's just really, really forgetful?

Hmm. I have a car without a compliance plate. I don't know whether it's missing or whether the car was in fact never complied, but the car is definitely registered. I am now attempting to transfer the registration from NSW to SA though, and I'm running into problems. I have applied through Regency for an exemption, which they are fairly confident I will get, but I am more so curious as to why the car was ever registered by the NSW RTA without a compliance plate fitted. I will call the Federal Office of Road and Safety during business hours on Monday and fire some questions at them.

If a vehicle is imported for race/wreck, can it be registered? Is there any explanation for a registered car (in NSW) bought from an import yard not to have a compliance plate fitted?

I have two questions regarding vehicle compliance. Firstly, if a dealer imports a Japanese car (not a personal import), is there any way the car can be registered without first being complied? Secondly, is there a way to use a vehicle's registration number, engine number or VIN to find information on when or if it was complied in Australia? Thank-you in advance.

I am after a factory R33 GTS-T gear knob. Where in SA can I purhcase one? JMS usually sell them for $20.00 but are out of stock. I have also tried a few places closer to my house without success. I am hoping to buy one today - so please pass on any suggestions as to where else I can try. And to hi-jack my own thread: My R33 GTS-T has a GT-R fuel pump in it. Is this defectable or will Regency pass it?
