  1. Ah. No, it wasn't. It has been corrected. Is everybody now happy with this design and layout? Front (6cm by 10cm): Back (28cm by 7cm):
  2. My pictures do not do the car justice - it looked a lot worse than my original post depicts. There would have been close to thirty individual, large scratches on the car's body. If there is a high chance of needing to respray (and buy a new kit for) an imported car, it all of a sudden makes privately importing more expensive than purchasing an imported car locally through a dealer or private sale. Surely this isn't the case. Surely not every car sent from Japan ends up like this. This was the original reason for my post - I was wanting to know what went wrong. From your responses, I am assuming that some damage was done in transit, and further damage was done by its Australian owner. However, this still doesn't explain the car being sold as a 1994 model. Hopefully a lot of this damage was done by the car's Australian owner, or maybe my standards really are too high... I'll wait and see how zymotic's car arrives.
  3. Would everybody be happy with the design and layout as pictured in my above post, with the "S" added to the front? If so, does anybody have a high-quality version of the "S"? Oh, and these t-shirts will definitely be available in a range of colours, with your choice of short or long sleeves. Hopefully everybody will be happy.
  4. I can, but it would put the price of each t-shirt up considerably and really wouldn't be worth it (unless you were to drop the front print location). The logo would also have to be sized to suit a regular t-shirt, so it would look out of place on the long-sleeve t-shirts which we are also offering. I think most people are happy with the front and back positioning.
  5. Do you like this? I think it's an improvement. (This has been extracted from some artwork forwarded to me by Jamezilla.) The front will be similar, keeping the small and simple SAU. The back will have a proper logo and the SAU URL. However, please note: The grey line around the GT logo cannot be printed as pictured. This line will be converted to black and made thicker (or completely removed) if we continue with this t-shirt design.
  6. For all those who are interested, below is Geoff's reply.
  7. I won't be put off easily. I have called Geoff and will contact the seller. skipppy: It was a private sale. $19,500.
  8. Yes, you raise a valid point. The car looks alright in the Prestige pictures. However, it wasn't only damage to the kit. The entire car badly, badly needed respraying. There were countless scratches on every panel, none of which were mentioned on the Prestige web-site. Is this type of damage common in transit? If it is, I think gtrken is right in saying importing isn't for me. Edit: I have e-mailed Geoff too asking why the car was listed as being a 1994 model. Lastly, what would cause the car to stall for no reason? Major engine problem? Minor engine problem? I wouldn't have a clue.
  9. gtrken: I could understand a few scratches, but I have never seen an R33 GTS-T in worse condition than this. I will contact the seller tomorrow. Hopefully the car is sold so they can be honest and fill me in...
  10. It's definitely the same car. Perhaps it was accident damaged in Australia in its first few KMs? Hmm.
  11. I'm looking for an R33 GTS-T and I'm very, very close to signing up with Geoff at Prestige Motorsport to privately import a vehicle like so many of you already have. However, I was looking through Geoff's list of past/sold vehicles tonight, when I came across this. It's a 1994 Nissan Skyline GTS-T. http://www.prestigemotorsport.com.au/au/st...asp?StockID=120 The car looks nice. The report is positive. I very well could have purchased this vehicle. However, I have also been looking at cars locally (in South Australia) and this car reminded me of a 1993 R33 GTS-T I looked at and test drove a few weeks ago. In fact, it's the very same car. The problem being that the condition of this 1993 (not 1994 as stated) GTS-T was not even close to 'excellent throughout'. In fact, the car was absolutely farked. It stalled for no reason (several times) and attached are a few pictures of the car's actual condition. http://endept.com/fckedr33 So, what happened? Did somebody buy this vehicle, absolutely thrash it for three months (without clocking any KMs) and then try to sell it at a profit? Or was the vehicle description provided by Prestige Motorsport a little off? Has anybody had an experience similar to this? I have once again been put off importing. Somebody reassure me. Oh, and there was a silver sticker under the hood with Japanese writing all over it and the number 100,000. Does this mean the car has had a 100,000KM service, or does it mean the car is due for a service at 100,000KMs, or does it mean something else entirely?
  12. For sure. My e-mail address is: david@tshirttext.com I looked everywhere for the Nissan font, but found nothing - which is why the current logo reads SAU and not Skylines Australia.
  13. 328km/h. Unless this reading is fake...
  14. Simple graphics (including shapes and symbols) can be used, such as in this design. Keep in mind the SAU logo we have at the moment will look a lot better on a t-shirt than it looks on screen. Still, if you really don't like it, you're free to submit something better.
  15. His car is still in Japan.
  16. They're illegal though, as far as I know.
  17. The design is relatively simple, yes. A second colour would increase the price of the t-shirt significantly. Keeping this in mind, feel free to post your own suggestions. The final design must be replicated in a vector graphics program (before being transferred to a printing screen), so you will have to provide any fonts, etc., that you use.
  18. This shouldn't be a problem. Who else would prefer white ink on dark fabric? Long sleeve t-shirts will also be available, but will incur a surcharge of around $4.00. I've never sent a t-shirt to Japan - any idea how long it would take and/or how much it would cost?
  19. My preferred t-shirt wholesaler does not offer female fit t-shirts, but I could look elsewhere if you really wanted one. Failing this, have a look at this sizing chart. A lot of girls who want a tighter fit simply opt for a smaller size.
  20. As those of you who have noticed the link in my signature would already know, I'm in the business of t-shirt printing. I've been in contact with Christian (Prank) over the last couple of weeks, discussing the possibility of producing a professionally printed Skylines Australia t-shirt. I am aware that a few SAU t-shirts have been printed in the past for particular events, such as this year's Melbourne AutoSalon. However, as far as I know, most previous SAU t-shirt logos have been transfers - not intended to last any longer than the event itself. The proposed SAU t-shirts will be professional printed on high quality t-shirts. Ie, these garments will be designed to last. Unfortunately, this also means we are effectively limited to one colour. The proposed t-shirt design (rough diagram only) is as follows. Across the back (black ink on white fabric, approx. 25cm in length): A smaller version of this logo (without the URL) will also be printed across the front right side of the t-shirt (approx. 10-15cm in length). Each t-shirt will sell for around $30.00. This figure includes postage (within Australia) as well as a $5.00 donation to SkylinesAustralia.com. This price is a ball-park figure only and could rise or fall slightly depending on a number of factors, such as order quantity. So, what are your thoughts on this proposal and design? Would you be interested in purchasing a SAU t-shirt at around $30.00 (which includes a $5.00 donation to this forum)? Please express any interest and/or post any feedback/comments below. To give you an idea of how the t-shirt will look, I have attached an image of a t-shirt previously printed by tshirttext. Obviously the colours and design will vary, but this will give you some indication. Click here. David.
  21. Why not buy the new, fake WRX?
  22. How fast would it be over 400m?
  23. Good luck! Keep us updated.
  24. I was just told that as of yesterday Famous are no longer insuring anybody under the age of 20. Will any performance car insurer count ratings accumulated by being a nominated driver? I'm a rating three with the RAA (who do not insure R33s or late-model Supras), but a rating six driver everywhere else - or so it would seem. Edit: Just Car's prices are as follows. 1996 Nissan Skyline R33 GTS-T - $4,200.00. 1994 Toyota Supra (non-turbo) - $3,300.00.
