GTR Badges on GTST
P1E replied to Constantly_Incognito's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
This thread has been done a couple of times. The $80.00 for the GTR badge would be much better spent on something from my signature. -
Does it have a TV tuner?
-
I have registration, insurance and a speeding fine all to pay this week, so my bonnet has been delayed. When are you looking to buy yours? There might still be hope for some two person discount...
-
Pencil me in.
-
I won't be there for dinner, but pencil me in for the cruise.
-
I am keen, but it will depend on the date, the agenda for the day and how my car's looking. Early January would be my preference.
-
Around $695.00, but I would have to confirm. Are you keen?
-
How do you progress through the three AutoSalon competitions? Is it all based on public voting? How many cars go through? It seems as though you could make the FINAL BATTLE by taking a stock R33 Skyline and adding a set of scissor doors. Pretty much every R33 there had a set. Did I miss out on a group buy or something?
-
There seems to be a total lack of interest in this bulk buy, so I might just buy my bonnet this week. If any of you are keen, let me know as we will be able to save on freight if we order two or more bonnets together...
-
That's a mint RX7 hidden under that excess plastic/fibreglass.
-
I saw you driving down Morphett Road last night, TIN. Nice car. Needs a shit hot vented bonnet though...

Fibre Glass Vs Carbon Fibre Bonnets
P1E replied to DR.ZOIDBERG's topic in Exterior & Interior Styling
PM if you want to sell it to upgrade. What style is it? -
Maybe next time for me.
-
The fibre glass bonnets will most likely be white or light grey and they will come ready to paint - if they had a single layer of carbon fibre on them, they would be selling for $1000.00 plus. I plan to give mine a light sand and spray it matte black from a $10.00 spray can. I helped a friend of mine do this to a fibre glass bonnet he bought for his 180SX and it looks shit hot. Regarding guarantees etc, I can't offer any. I am only a buyer like you. As I said above, I have dealt with this supplier before but I have not seen his bonnets in the flesh. The way I see it, if the bonnets are crap, we can put them on eBay and probably return a profit.
-
Sorry buddy, but I am not a fan of your vent layout and I would like to have my bonnet this year. I'm happy for you to run a group buy for your product, but please start another thread. Edit: That said, if you can offer a fibre glass bonnet that looks like the bonnet in my above post, and you can offer a better price than what is quoted above, and you can do so in a short time frame, then I am all ears.
-
Slightly cheaper, yes, but I'm willing to pay extra for a better looking (IMO) bonnet. But the information is on the table, so let's leave it at that. Total confirmations so far: 1

For those of you who want carbon fibre over fibre glass, keep in mind that osaka_boy's $850.00 price tag is EXCLUSIVE of freight, meaning the bulk buy prices all are pretty much on par. But, as said above, I prefer the non-OEM look. Plus, if we can get ten or more orders together, prices should come down. Oh, and keep in mind that the other bonnets won't be available until mid-Febuary. No disrespect to a Skylines Australia sponsor, just not my cup of tea.
-
I agree, I am after a particular type of bonnet. Further, I want a fibre glass bonnet for the reasons mentioned in an above post. So, I will be continuing with this bulk order, assuming I can get the numbers together. Re. price, that's what being offered and I don't think it's too bad, considering freight, etc. If we can get more than five people interested, then yeah, I can't see a further reduction in price being a problem. autObarn sell the bonnet for $750.00 and Viva Garage sell it for $700.00, just to put things into perspective. If I can't get the numbers together, I'll just buy one. Hopefully we will be able to get at least five people together in the next week or so though...
-
Okay, I have an update regarding prices. Fibre glass bonnets: $595.00 delivered. Carbon fibre bonnets: $1020.00 delivered. To qualify for these prices, we will need to have five people interested. If we can pull ten or more people together, then the prices should fall further. From the research I have conducted, $595.00 for a delivered vented fibre glass bonnet seems very good, especially as freight is usually over $100.00. The supplier can apparently get cheaper bonnets also, but he does not recommend them as the quality is fairly shit. I still need to confirm styles, etc. But there should be a fair variety to choose from. So, who's in?
-
I might be keen if I can get a R34 GTR before Christmas. What will the turn around time be like?
-
I have a bumper support that has been cut to fit FMIC for sale if you need it.
-
That's the price point I am aiming for too, Nightcrawler. I will be able to confirm prices towards the end of the week. That is true about the price of front bars. I hadn't thought about it like that. But most retailers want ~$800.00 and ~$1200.00 for fibre glass and carbon fibre bonnets respectively, so we will be getting a good deal if we can get the numbers together.
-
Wait, add R32, S13 and S14 to the above list.
-
Okay, I have an update. I am basing this arrangement on ten orders, which we should be able to reach. If you drive an R33, S15 or 180SX [EDIT: or R32, S13 or S14], then you are in luck. Both carbon fibre and fibre glass bonnets will be available in various styles, all of which you would have seen before on Car Mate, etc. Nothing custom or craaazy. Further, the quality is supposedly very good and the bonnets are complete with bonnet latches. Note: I trust this supplier and have bought from him before, but I have not seen his bonnets first hand. I will probably arrange to have all orders sent to my house and then we can arrange local pick-up. This should save everyone a fair bit on freight costs. With ten orders, we should save a couple of hundred dollars off retail prices. S15, 180SX and R33 bonnets will all be the same price, with carbon fibre naturally being more expensive than fibre glass. Exact prices are still being arranged, but I will hopefully be able to fill you all in by the weekend. FYI: I am personally ordering a fibre glass vented bonnet, because the carbon fibre bonnets will be more expensive and, at the end of the day, you are paying for 2-3 layers of carbon fibre that sit over a standard fibre glass bonnet. I don't particularly like the look of carbon fibre and as there's no further weight saving over fibre glass, I'm going for a matte black fibre glass bonnet. But the decision is yours and both options are available. Who is still keen at this stage?

Interested in a brand new 400R front bar for $495?
