I like how he mentions that he wants to make the transaction through ebay so the buyer is protected, then he give you Western Union bank details which ebay states "Pay safely online by never using instant cash transfer services such as Western Union or MoneyGram International to pay for your eBay purchases".
Knew a guy who was scammed out of $6K for a Supra. Expensive lesson to learn!
I am pretty sure it's not part of the compliance process as my mate had to pay for a tow truck which was $100 as he wasn't available to pick it up.
You would generally arrange transport from the dock's yourself, get a 7 day permit from Vicroads that way you get to drive your car and see what it is like.
I'm getting my R32 GTR complianced by a company in Vic called Japanese Performance Vehicles. He's already complianced my mates R34 and he was really happy with the work.
Really helpful guy, worth calling.
He's really happy with the work, good clean job and the fact it was completed relatively quickly without any fuss. Out of everyone I phoned to get quotes for both his 34 and my 32 this guy didn't try to sell the earth and gave us a price and was really helpful.
I just can't wait til i get my 32. Not long to go.
All the best.
I just bought the car in Japan and before I bought it they said it compression is low, but how low I don't know.
But at the end of the day it's a 1994 GTR and it will owe me $9K once landed and the body is in immac condition. Hopefully nothing else is wrong with it.
Thanks wrxhoon, how much do you think that would cost? I've read forums where people say allow between $6K to 10K.
Because I will be doing it myself and only doing the essential items (without skimping) would I need to budget this much?
Thanks for your advice.
Hey Everyone,
The compression in my RB26DETT is very low and I am considering replacing the rings and bearings myself.
Is this easy? Do I have to pull the whole engine out or can I work from underneath? I have access to a hoist which will make things easier.
Look forward to your advice.
Cheers.
Hey Booya, where did you buy your 34 from? And who did the compliance?
If they took the child restraints out for bigger speakers, then it is likely that the anchors are still there, you just need the clips.
