  1. I got my quotes for repairs, Ranged between $1100-1400. None of the dudes seemed too sure if they could match the paint shades either... The guy with the highest quote seemed most confident in getting it right though, but the council will just want to use the cheapest right?
  2. Ok a detailed report of everything that happened has been submitted to the council, and i have had confirmation that it was received. The guy in charge assures me it has been forwarded to the claims department and to get in contact with him in 3 weeks... I wont accept 3 weeks, ill be ringing him first thing monday morning. Apprently if it is established that it IS the councils fault i will have to get 2 quotes for repairs and then submit them and they will cover the costs... Does anyone know what i will happen if they are unable to match the color? i have a custom pearl and if it dosnt look spot on I wont drop this... Cheers.
  3. Cheers man, thats what i needed to hear. I am close to Perth so hopefully our council here has a similar response time.
  4. Yer my luck was just not in today.. When we rang their offices we got through to the guy in charge but he wasnt even prepared to tell me they would do something to stop this happening again. I assume he was just covering their own asses by not admiting liability or some such but even still. Im going to want this fixed and a written apology. So guys watch those mowers, this shit does happen. Damn you chance....
  5. Hey all, I am pissed off. Earlier today I was driving along the local bypass road and noticed that there was some roadside mowing going on by council contractors. As I passed where it was happening the tractor (ride on mower thing) flicked up a piece of steel sheet approx 30cmX30cm which flew like 20 meters and embedded itself in my passenger door... Now ofcourse I stopped straight away and went up to the guy who was mowing and made him give me his bosses name and the department they were contracted to's phone number. I have lodged my complaint with the council now but have been told i will have to wait 3-4 weeks before I hear back from them. Has anyone else had a situation like this? and if so what was your final outcome? i better not be paying for this... The damage looks expensive and the entire door will need to be resprayed i assume. Also, i was so lucky it didnt hit 40cm higher as i had my window down at the time.... and I prob wouldnt be here to write this. Thanks for any input. Cheers

  11. Just saw this on the news this evening, apprently radar detectors are going to be a no-no within the next few months. Are we the last state to implement this? I have been asked to remove mine (around 2 months ago) but the officer who asked me to take it down said nothing when I said "do I have to?." So now im geussing ill be slapped with a fine in the future if I say no.. Yeah just thought I would mention it incase anyone is thinking of investing.
