  1. but y ? I would have thought the engine that came in the 34 would be far better than an older RB26... Any gains in power would be minimal I would assume.
  2. damn that things is quite sexy. altho I'm not a fan of R33's (far too many of them all over the place now).
  3. thanks guys. my dad got home and knew the fix it had no bloody fluid in the system lol obviously leaking slowly somewhere but now the pedal feels totally different! clutch doesn't engage as early as it used to. air in the system?
  4. OK. So i've been driving my car lately and and parked it outside my house 2 days ago. Haven't driven it since. anyways, I go out there this morning and put my foot on the clutch pedal to start it, NO CLUTCH. there's no feeling. the pedal is only being forced back by a spring, and a soft feeling one at that. all the way to the floor and still no clutch engage / disengage. can't shift gear and therefore car will be sitting where it is till i get it towed I guess. car : 1986 pintara gxe (R31) I suspect the clutch itself for now as it has been ridden a little bit lately (was still getting used to the accelerator when changing gears) and I am guessing that the clutch is the stock standard almost 20 yr old one. any way to find out if it's the clutch itself or if it's the cable or whatever? thanks.
  5. well the first thing you could do to up the performance is get an EBC (electronic boost controller). This will allow you to get some more psi into your engine and therefore more power. But be careful, too much boost and your engine goes POP. Computer is a good idea for when you start getting serious. Dump pipe is a good mod too. Perhaps new injectors and fuel pump too As for the aftermarket BOV. Technically you don't need them. Plumb-back's work well but if you are after the WHOOSH noise then get aftermarket. But get the one that you find has the highest flow. No point in having something restrictive on there (although that's all a BOV does, as it makes noise, it slows down the air and restricts it to go through the whistle or whatever). Is your exhaust from the turbo back ?
  6. basically quite simple. bigger exhaust = more power and less restrictive = less work for the engine to push out the bad gases.
  7. it's a bad connection, most likely at the dash end. auto elctrician could fix it EZ.
  8. thanks for that falcon helps explain it quite easily. so the advantage of HICAS is that you can corner better at higher speed right? Wouldn't it wear the tyres faster and also make it harder to break traction? Is the rear wheel steering as responsive as the fronts? Like is it quick enuff that it can be safe to go from OP lock to OP lock?
  9. maccas do pay OK. way better than hungry jack's that's for sure. Also maccas is good on a resume. I'm at target cos I have a retail cert 2. and I like the people in my store and the experience I get. Hours are good and pay is ok. I made 480 bucks in one week and i'm 17 just because I did 2 full public holiday shifts
  10. see it just ain't fair when people's parents buy their first car and it's a half decent one! Where's the love? give us guys ur first cars
  11. no idea. perhaps it's not an MX6. it just looked like one at 1am in the morning in the dark
  12. there are too many jobs, too many choices in this world. Things rush through my mind. I'm only 17, I hopefully have a long life ahead of me. Do I get my dream car now, work for it hard, and once I have my dream car I start to work on getting my dream job or dream house? Or do I get smarter first, up my grades some through TAFE and get a good office job now, invest, get a house and then later when I'm older get my dream car (which by then will be older and less reliable). Too many things to think about when you're 17 and graduated high school!
  13. fark that. move ! lol
  14. whoa where do u live! 300k's!!!!! like jebus christ.
  15. I feel it is too late to get into IT now. hard to find jobs, hard to find people willing to hire less experienced young people to be trained up. they just want someone they can drop into an office and say "RUN IT, if it f**ks up, you get replaced. have a nice day"
  16. well basically I had a dog as a kid, I don't really fear dogs, I can do some cool whistling which seams to get their attention and make them my friend I mainly want to get into customs for reasons such as I hate drugs, I hate druggos, I dislike crime, I want to help stop it but not be a cop so I don't have to hand out defects to guys who are just enjoying their cars. Working at the airport would be a lot of fun too, my mate's dad is a pilot there, takes his bike down the runway, might be able to get my GTR on there when I get it (it being the car and the job ). Pay's pretty good and in customs there are plenty of things to do, boats, desk job, detector dog handler etc.
  17. although I've only been a member here for a couple days, I can tell you right now. Use the search function. there is plenty of info already on this site which will answer your questions. in answer though. My plans are a 32 GTR. I will afford it. Even if I have to bust my ass and work 2-3 jobs and save it all and not go out with friends, I will get one. Cars are my passion, GT-R's are my god (well Supra's come close). Only thing I am worried about when getting a skyline is being put in the same category as all those dickheads that drive around in Skylines with zorst and BOV who think they are top shit and drive their cars hard to show off.
  18. is it worth putting this sheeeeet in my pintara? my box is not as good as it was half a million k's ago wonder why ? still works fine just slightly clunky and hates going in reverse.
  19. Searched for a thread like this a few times and found nothing so thought " why not?" I for now work at Target as a casual, I make shit money because I'm 17 and am hopefully getting a second job as a cold room worker for Mrs Crockett's in the next few weeks to make extra cash for savings. I plan on applying for a job as detector dog handler (or anything else I can get) at Customs. I figure this job will be stable, fun, good pay, full time and very interesting). All this in the end to achieve the dream, GTR Ownership.
  20. i picked NA supra simply because they are one of the best looking, less common, majorly respected cars around and an NA model is great for putting around. guy around the corner has one, short shifts it like a hoe and it sounds sooo godly with his exhaust.
  21. i drive an 86 pintara gxe, ca20de. these cars are the same car as an R31 skyline with a smaller engine and a few different interior and exterior details. as far as I know they would handle quite similarly. they are very dangerous cars in the wet (a slow clutch release at 2000rpm started a burnout in my car and my mum just said "now you know how easy it is to do in this car") get a shitty little FWD IMO or even a rwd that u can chuck around on some private property. IMO the best way to learn to control an out of control car is to get it out of control in controlled conditions (driver courses are great for this).
  22. can't sell yet they're for sale?
  23. awww why does IT have to be so hard to get into these days lol
