Ok well just back from mechanics and he said his going to try keep it under 1k. His changing the windscreen also fixing exhaust which has cracked, also found a leak on lh shocker, pretty much the list was a page long ...also light on spoiler is out and he said there needs to bea break light at eye level, seems strange that as long as I have had it has never worked.... Looks like I'll be lucky to get out under a grand, which really sucks

Or would it get passed the roadworthy?

Being Told To Open The Bonnet After Being Pulled Over
i2icho replied to Astro Bear's topic in Victoria
Your lucky you didnt get a defect, i was pulled over for having simular mods and had the book thrown at me, Full Epa test, Engineers Cert for FMIC, and defected i would call you very lucky, Now my Skyline is as Leagly Stock as possible, no fun, i want my FMIC back on, but its just not worth the Hassle from the boys in Blue. -
UPDATE Last Week i bought a AFM of a SAU member hooked it all up last night and it solved all my problems, Stalling, loosing power. Just cant believe how long i left it, wish i had bought it earlier and eased all the Stress involved cheers Ben

Thanks guys, the reason i was going to try MPC was because its literaly 50 meters away from my work so its just the convince of it all really, Where abouts is Racepace??
-
Hey well i had a FMIC which i got defected 4, so i put the SMIC back on, after a few weeks it started playing up, i checked I/c pipping re-tightened clamps etc, checked plugs coil packs changed all filters, but the problem never went away, only after i cleaned the AFM it was all working great for about 5 days then started doing to same thing again, And yeah i Reset the ECU but no luck, So fingers crossed, it could be the AFM and or plug or Fuel pump,
-
Hey Has anybody had much to do with MPC in Bayswater? I was thinking about getting a Service done there as it is close to my work? Just wanting to get some opinions as to what are they like there do they do a good job etc etc. Cheers Ben

Yeah i have bought one from DEZZ on the forums here, same colour lable(pink) Not sure how to see if its the plug or not, sometimes when i check it its not fully clicked in the whole way, This happened the other day i accually took it out and cleaned it with Contact cleaner, drove to work and everything was fine then on the way home the car stalled once sitting at the lights and power dropped out through the REvs, Then when i got home i let it idle and 2 mins later it turned itself off, (i dont have a Turbo timer btw) Its so dangerous, the other day i went through a intersection in peak traffic and the car stalled from 2nd gear to third. I hope the AFM fixes the problem.
-
Yeah ive allready cleaned it twice with contact cleaner and it runs fine for a few days, then ill be driving home and the engine cuts out for a half second then comes back again, and sometimes stalls while driving its really dangerous, im 90% sure its a problem with the AFM either that or the Fuel Pump, but from what i have read from other people with the same problem its Deff the AFM (stuffed)

Im pretty sure they didnt disconnect the battery when they used the Welder, The place i took it too was shonky as all get out it should of sent alarm bells ringing. The ECU wasnt tuned for the FMIC and i havnt reset the ECU since putting back the SMIC, Other mods that were reversed was a Manual boost controller (by passing the Boost Solenoid) I had to reconect and replace Vacuum hose that was taken out to hook the Solenoid back up, Its all connect correctly thou so i cant see how that could be causing a problem.
-
Hey all ill start from the start, Late last year i was defected for a FMIC so i returned my 33 back to stock SMIC, i also took my car to a pannel beaters to get the I/C pipe hole (bellow the watter bottle) welded back up, Ever since i have had my car back from them gradually a problem started to arise, I would be driving down the road and all of a suddern i would loose all power to the wheels the revs would stay at the same RPM but with no power a second later it would come back on, it would jerk me around the car, make me look like a total fool who cant drive lol. Reading thou the forums i found a simular problem with someones R32 it was with the AFM, So this is what i have done to try fix the problem -Taken out AFM totally cleaned contact points, Element in the middle (with contact cleaner) -Checked I/C pipping for leakes half a dozen times. -changed oil -checked plugs coil covers. -cleaned throttle body Did all of the above last weekend,Everything was running smooth up until last night Was driving home from work, going from 2nd gear to 3rd and the problem happened again the first time in 5 days, which was good compared to it happening everyday. Still very dissapointed thinking the problem had been fixed, The problem happens within 1-2 mins of car being turned on, Could this be a alarm/imm problem? Its very very frustrating would like to get to the bottom of it without forking out for a new Fuel pump and AFM. Can anybody shed some light? cheers Ben
