You will be looking at 15 - 16k all up - I got my s2 R33 for 17500 (incl rego etc). My opinion would be to keep looking - although aside from the steering and the gear shifter, the car looks very neat. Id say, if you can get the car up, check for leakages and all around the engine block. The welsh plugs and all the piping for the coolant. Check the belts if you can. Have a look for any rust spots under the car - there was a thread with pics of rusts on r32s - scared the shit outta me. Dont try RACV. Apparently they dont know how to really check out the engine and all that. Warranty might be worth looking into - check with the seller if he is including warranty with it. good luck bud

I think i will be getting the car checked out at my next service - it does take quite a bit of fuel for a relatively stock r33 - but then again, maybe its the age thats showing....

After having the r33 for almost 6 months now, I think its time to get a better sound system. I already have a fairly good Sony head unit (CD and MD) that came with the car, but now need to change the speakers I was thinking of going with Alpine speakers, 8 or 10 inch sub and an amp. Would these connect to the sony head unit? Im pretty sure they would - but just need to make sure. The other thing is, some of the Alpine speakers come with 2 tweeters and these 2 other things that I have no idea what they are (attached pic). I dont want a huge expensive system, just one that gives good bass. I have decided to go with alpine as I was talking to Ray @ RE Customs and he said they can do a good deal on the items. The ones that I was gonna go for are: Alpine SPS 171A (or if i have to change the head unit as well, then CDA-9856i & Type-S Component Package) SPS-17C2 (rear) MRP-M450 Amp & SWS1242 Sub What do you all think? better than what i had, but in terms of fuel costs, nothing beats my little "dune buggy" aka 1982 honda civic. If I recall correctly in 35 ltrs i had achieved around 500klms (which is around 7ltrs per 100). It would probably have been better when it was aroudn 10 years old, but hey cant complain. The only down side apart from the space and all that is the power. The 1.3 took ages to get to 100km/h - so when I got the r33, it took me a few days to get used to the rapid response of the throttle.... If you want to get a good 80's skyline, make sure that the car has been regularly serviced - you dont want it eating up fuel - not now anyway....

Go via Wellington rd past lysterfield/narre warren etc - all the way down until u get to the T junction - then go left for belgrave or right for emerald. That will connect to the dandies - really nice drive on a crisp day! Scary at night though, cos its hard to see. If you go at night, DO NOT speed at all - the fog makes it really hard to see. But during the day, go at your normal speed - cos you want to enjoy the curves along the road as well as the scenery... Edit: dont worry Andru - me and my 33 buddies wont be tagging along

Gerard - thats one bloody nice looking skyline! Love the wheels! Do you have the specs for your car (ie mods etc)? Im keen to see what tis got. How much you pay for it? looking very nice! The best part is washing and vacumming the car man - its such a joy to see a nice ride looking spotless! Enjoy the car!

sir-d - you should have put ur car in neutral, reved a couple of times, then put in drive and waited there. When the lights turn green, let the fool do what he wants to do and be a hero. He would have gotten caught for sure, then you can have a laugh at him but what you did was honourable man, idiots like that r32 driver challenging for a race should have their cars replaced with little scooters. They dont deserve any high performance machines....

Hmm...what level was your coolant at? Any leakages anywhere? is there any gaps/cracks on the waterpump?

Well said James - let the cops handle the idiots. Edit: Though what you have said is all fair - wouldnt it be better to just expel anyone who acts stupid on the roads? I know that if I was in charge of some club or society, and someone did something that brought the club down, I would ban their asses for a long long time. (but thats just me)

17500 is a decent price I think. But its harder to sell cars these days due to petrol and all that crap. I also got to wonder why an MR2. But everyone has different tastes - go with what make you happy bud
