  1. That is really sh*t Rhianne - but your bf and his mates, cousins etc should be really careful - their health is more important than anything else. Isnt your car insured? with the police report - you should be able to get the insurance company to pay for it....Anyway - it was tough luck, I hope they put these sons of bitches away....
  2. what dealer was this? If you want, I can give you a couple of dealers you can check out - they have some good r33's. If you are after somethign specific, they can also import one for you.
  3. gtautos in croydon - wayne is very helpful when it comes to discussing skylines
  4. sky 34 - there was something about how to check the timing belt on the supra website (when i was looking for a supra). im pretty sure this is the site (though I could be wrong) - http://www.mkiv.com/main/index.html There was a picture on what to check for the timing belt - so see how you go.
  5. I dunno if anyone has mentioned this, but the 2JZ on the NA soarer is mated to an Auto transmission - this has manual - Id check out the quality of the conversion. The twin turbo soarer came with the 1JZ engine in either manual or auto - I'd go the manual 1JZ twin turbo, or if you want the skyline, then go the R34 GTT
  6. has anyone purchased their skylines from TGS performance in cheltnam (vic)? Are they a good dealer? Any info would help. Thanks
  7. Though I havent bought mine yet - the ones I have looked at are GTAUTO (croydon), and SSV (Oakleigh) - both vic dealerships. Wayne at GTAUTO is really good at going through everything (from importing to maintaining, checking for accidents etc), honest - and he seems to know heaps about skylines. If it wasnt for him telling me about what to check for in a car, I probably would have bought the first supra I saw. Mark and Peter at SSV - again very friendly, Mark seems to know a bit about them, as he imports them himself - both have excellent quality cars.
  8. hehe - thats right dee33 - I was looking for a N/A supra for a long long time, couldnt get the new shape (i.e the 96 update), then test drove the skyline r33 s2, and man, i came out of that with a smile, and a few white hairs.....scared the crap out of me due to the power, but drove very smooth. And I saw the car that Wayne from GTAuto drives, looks bloody sick - So Im going for a skyline for now, then later on, when i get money, gonna get a decent supra. Btw - if anyone is new to the import scene, id suggest talking to Wayne and GTAutos in croydon - he went through pretty much everything with me, spent an hour, showed me a couple of cars - test drove them, then spent an hour again when me and my bro went back - totally awesome - now thats service for ya.
  9. is there a thread with a running cost of a gtst - i will be getting one within the next couple of weeks.
  10. Hi guys, Thanks for the quick reply - also is it necessary to have gauges that tell the temperature and boost and so on? Obviously that would help determine if there was anything wrong with the car - but do you all think its a good idea? Matt
  11. Hi all, I have been looking at a few series 2 gtst's and I got a question. I have been to Kamikaze, GTAUTOs and SSV (all vic dealerships), and I have noticed that some skylines have a strut bar in the boot, and others dont. Are all skylines supposed to come with a strut bar in the boot or is it just an option that Nissan in Japan offers? Bit about me I guess, I was (still am) a Toyota Supra fan, test drove a couple of NA supras, then test drove turbo skylines, and now Im hooked on the turbos! Though, I expect later on I will be looking at twinturbo supras when I get more money. Anyway - if anyone could answer my question (first paragraph), I would be really grateful! Thanx guys/gals! Matt
  12. ah f***! I was thinking of coming and having a look at it on sunday - oh well, reading the posts, probably wouldnt have made a difference as I have only 18grand to play with. Nice looking r33 - gotta say that....
  13. Hi, There was a post by merli, in the Tutorials section - (a sticky) - there is some good info on checking the car, if its been stolen and so on. I used that list when I was looking at a couple of skylines today - really worthwhile. The other thing is, Im gonna be using RACV testing as well - just to make sure. But i think if your going through a dealer, ask for all reciepts as well - so you know how much has been spent. Matt
