If you could describe it as a high pitched "whoooosh" its probably a leak. On my old laurel, where the exhaust bolted to the motor was loose and as soon as I tightened it up the noise went away. Have a look around for leaks and check all the bolts

Sorry for the long reply... I took the car in on monday and its going to be finished on this upcoming monday (finally). Yeah its costing 3500 plus tyres which I think are 120 each, and then I get it. The new guy that owns NIZMO now is very nice and knows his stuff. They had at least 5-7 stageas in there and they also had a blue kitted one with an r34 gtr front which looked gorgeous. Anyway, when I get it I might post some pictures up, no doubt I will be asking more questions. Thanks

Hey all, I just purchased a 97 stagea rs4, Have a few questions to which I have searched for but need more specific answers. Its getting complied today, I have to take it down to NIZMO PTY LTD to get it done. All the car has is an aftermarket catback exhaust. Firstly, How good are the guys at NIZMO, and how long does it take? Also, how much in your experience does it cost through them? What exactly do they do? Fluids/belts/ac? I haven't been able to get onto them so I hope they wont mind me bringing it down. Just need quick answers to these questions, any help would be awesome Thanks Gavin

Hey there, Got a set of ROH Blade 17x7 wheels, front pair have 235/45/17 falken tyres on them, good tread, rear pair have some cheaper 235/45/17 tyres, low tread but still heaps of K's left in them. As far as I know, theres a fuse for the right and left headlight. Anyway getting a roadworthy today, the guy is overlooking the heaqdlight thing but I would still like to get it fixed? Any more ideas?

Hey there, have a 90 nissan laurel with rb20det. I just noticed that when I turn the headlights off, the left front one stays on. I also observed that when I pulled the fuse for the other headlight, it goes off again and operates as normal (without the right headlight working)... Anyone got any Ideas with what may be the cause of this? Im thinking a bad earth but Im not sure - not too hot with electrics. Help anyone? Thanks in advance Gav

So so so so so tough. I saw thatg car down in maroochydore a while ago and my draw literally dropped. Wills a good friend of mine, and I think charles will be selling that laurel of his - but getting a new one. Today I got the new turbo on - had some small problems but also found out it has a steel wheel. had to grind out some banjo bolt fitting things and find bolts suitable for an r32 turbo (the bolts on the stock one were smaller) Finally got it running, blew a bit of smoke and was making me worried, but started to calm down after I left it running for a few minutes. So I decided that it was previously dumped oil from the last rooted turbo int he exhaust etc burning off. Left it idling for about 20 minutes and when I came back all the smoke was gone. Took it for first drive - first impressions - springs a little hard, turbo sounds insane - like a jet or something! gave it a bootful out of my street, went beautifully. played around with the blitz dsbc for a while, tryed again and ran too much boost - blew the intercooler hose off. Anyway I decided not to play aropund with the thing untill I udnerstand how it work first. Went to pick up the girlfriend later on and decided nows the time to check see if it has an LSD. medium speed in, boot it in 3rd, car smoothly and quickly steps out and slides the corner beautifully, I hold about 2.5 fishies up the road after that in 3rd. Thats something you cant do in an ae86 easily. Anway, just from todays impressions, I love love love it. Such a nice car. I can not believe how loud the turbo is. Is it safe to have the turbo fluittering when I let off? It does it quite loudly! I fear it may be forcing the pressure back ont he turbo and making it wear quicker. Tomorrow I am going to change the oil, got some mobil semi synth to put in for about a tank of fuel, flush, and then going to full synthetic. Gettin coolant flushed next week along with rwc and rego. Getting boost gauge soon. Car has weird vibration on the back left side, and I noticed the wheel has more negative camebr than any other one - so either a bent arm or really bad alignment but I'll figure it out. I cannot believe how nice the car is - rapes an ae86 anyday. Heres a dodgy ass pic. Very excited.

Wow, thanks heaps, this is all such good information. Yeah the banjo bolt is the one thats sitting horizontal and on the engine side - either a water inlet or outlet. So I should get a bolt machined hey? What about the waterline eye that it goes through? do i ahve to tought that or should it be able to take a bigger bolt. Thanks for the tip ont he oil pressure too - that sounds like a big lifesaver ahah. On another note - one of my windows doesn't work - The guy I bought it off thinks its a solenoid. Does anyone know where I can get a solenoid for it from? Cheers once again

Yeah its alright - just looking to replace it for now - only thing is I have run into a bit of a snag. inbetween the exhaust and inlet housings on the turbo, the water inlet or outlet or something banjo bolt is too small for the r32 turbo water inlet/outlet hole. Like maybe about 2 mm too small. I figure this is the difference between the r32 turbo and the laurel turbo, but is there any way that I can fix this - how do I overcome it? Any Ideas? please? haha Yeah I know charles with the vg30 laurel and will with the silver cefiro. nice guys. Anyway I have to fix this turbo snag - can someone suggest something? Cheers - gav
