Don't suppose you're interested in swap + cash; R32 GTS-4, with brake/suspension mods?

I thought this would be the case, as the HICAS unit is in the boot also. Reading the sensor voltage would require more hardware... (i.e. A/D converter)

Thanks for the article, which for those that havn't read it, explains how to intercept the signal between the accelerometer (g-sensor) and the ECU. Which also allows for modification (i.e. piggyback system). However, what I'd like to do, is read the sensor output voltage from the ECU (via the consult port) Suppose we could try some reverse engineering.

I'm pretty sure the g-sensor would need to report to the ECU for ATTESSA functionality, unless of course there's a sperate unit/controller for it... Also, just to confirm... HICAS is also controlled from the ECU? Or does it just manage the steering angle sensor and the like somewhere else?

I've been considering developing an ECU/PC interface and consult software for quite some time now. Reading this post has encouraged me to begin writing an application for the linux platform, mainly out of curiousity. Which may or may not interest anyone on this forum, however if successful; linux would potentially allow me to offer a freely available in-dash ECU management + multimedia + navigation package, that will be able to take advantage of existing technology (i.e. mini-PC, touchscreen LCD, consult<->RS232 cable, GPS receiver) For now though, it's still a pipe dream! PS. Any idea where to read the G-sensor from the ECU? That'd be neat!!

That's it! After seeing this post; It's time to sell my GTS-4, and upgrade to a GTR. Very clean example, precisely what I'd be aiming for if I were to modify one myself. Fingers crossed it doesn't go before I have a chance to sell mine, if so; I'll get back to you.
