  1. i reckon i was pushing 200... i wasnt near the top speed for my car, and i went far past the 180 mark on the speedo... anyone know how i could physically tell if i have one or not without going 200k's again?
  2. I'd have to go the RX7, theyre fast, powerful, sleek, sexy, and sound really f**king nice... second choice would be the Supra, but i know too many people with a supra, i dont know anyone personally with an RX7...
  3. I have been told several times that there is a speed limiter on stock standard skylines. First i was told it was at 180, then when i exceeded that speed limit, i was told it was at 200... Anyone have an answer for me? Thanks heaps...
  4. sorry to say, it probably should have been on the top of the list... and if i were in Queensland, i would look out for it... i look at skyline license plates here in NSW cause i know a few have been stolen... My car is crashed right now, so i know the remorse your friend would be feeling, but the crash was my fault, having no cotrol over something like that would kill me even moreso i really hope you find it... best of luck to you...
  5. dont know, nor care it has been answered yet, just trying to help... come to think about it, im not sure anymore... ill get back to you... i bought 6 globes, i thought they were the same, but i remember now that two (i think) had protruding cords on them... Plus i have a diferent front bar to yours i think, i dont have the round lights, but that shouldnt matter... ill take a pic of my old bulbs when i get home from work hopefully...
  6. Autowatch is good also... i would give you my guy, but hes fair busy these days, and it seems theres enough info here...
  7. good luck with that man, i like your car, so i would hate to see cop a 20 grand fine for venting some gas (forget the name ) i only have the stock exhaust, and my car is off the road right now, if you want to butcher that, then put a new one on when your done, go right ahead
  8. thats what i meant, you read it wrong, or i wrote it wrong... i mean the small speakers have to be able to deal with the bass... coming from the sub right behind the pasenger... so they need to be able to put out enough mid and high end sound... its the mid levels coming from a 4inch speaker that are hard to get... having bass going to those speakers will just distort the mid levels and waste power...
  9. yeah ive gotta go with autowatch... they have a large range of alarms to suit you, mine cost $1500 and is seriously insane... my friends cost $3000... hes paranoid and they come to you! thats very handy...
  10. AMEN... i dunno which autowatch i have, but besides all the sensors, remote locking, turbo timer and all that, it calls me if shit is happening... i can also start the car from my phone hehehe, but its really illegal... so i tend not to...
  11. wait... the stock rear speakers are 6ich? why do i have 6x9s in mine? i HATE 6x9's... they sound so shit in comparison to a 6inch... i never really looked, plus they have covers over them... im gunna check that out... PS: i only hate 6x9's cause i normally run a lot of bass, so i dont need any more...
  12. Soon to have... (crashed car, money going to that first) Certain of... 1x Dual slot port box custom made (with pretty overlay board covered in white vinyl to cover shit) 2x 15 inch Fusion Lomus 2x JL Audio 1KW amps Probably gunna need... 2x Capacitors a few extra amps for the other speakers... i think thats it (just for the boot)... the planning in CAD has taken quite a damn while, these skylines have a deceptively small boot...
  13. i dont know if you will get "ball busting" bass with only a 12 inch, but nonetheless... get a good two way 6inch and make sure you do the levels correct... it doesnt have to be that great, it should sound pretty good in the front without much cost... your going to need a good high end 4' to deal with the bass, these are hard to come by... but you dont sit in the back, so must people dont care... http://www.strathfield.com.au/ViewWebDealP....asp?ProdID=992 these wil do good to keep the mid and high end correct in the front... http://www.strathfield.com.au/ViewProduct.asp?ProdID=706 and these are good for your back... they pump out the mid well, just dont let too much bass get to them, or you will be wasting power... i can only assume you know how to level your speakers to your liking... hop this helped!
  14. in reply to the name of this thread... YOUR MUM! HAHAHA /stupidity
  15. You get no respect from me... YOU on the other hand, get plenty...
  16. i probably spent a fair bit more on my alarm then most people here... my immobiliser wont activate until 30 seconds after the turbo timer stops OR 45 seconds after the alarm is armed OR 30 seconds of no activity (ie, jump out of the car with the keys but dont lock the car for any reason)... the anti hijack subroutine will run everytime the drivers side door is opened and closed... (this is pretty annying, cause if you want to get out for a short while, you have to leave the door open...) the car will not start, or even notice the key is in the ignition unless the immobiliser has been dissarmed, which is easily done... plus if any of the many sensors go off, the car will call me and let me know... what? im not paranoid...
  17. unless your emotionally attached to that sub for some reason, just go get a new one, ne that can handle the power of your amp... you will thank yourself for it... (buy in RMS, and buy a little under what the amp is rated at, but no more then say 50 watts...) ive rooted voice coils before, i think ive rooted subs in every way. I once ran a sub so hard that the wires that took the power to the coil actually snapped! due to excessive movement. i thought it was pretty impressive, and a bloody easy fix too...
  18. nope, seen quite a few blaupunkt head units though, quite good... different and unique... the information on the sub on their website says that the 380 sub (1000watt rms) has a frequency response of 25 - 1000hz, but like every other place, they dont state a price, they also dont say shit about it being either a dual magnet, dual voice coil, the strength of the magnet etc... normally that isnt stated for a reason, so i can only assume that it is a single magnet single coil, meaning, if it is powered correctly, it will burn out the coil pretty fast... due to lack of info, and better options out there, i wouldnt pay more then 300 for one of those, even then, i know better subs to buy... and as for your contract, ANYONE and EVERYONE can and should get discounts on electronics... never buy the sticker price, they are rediculously priced... if they say they cant give a discount (and its not on special) ask what you have to do to get one, if they say they really cant, f**k em...
  19. DASH - DVD Player with In-built 7' touch screen tv ($2200) - Sony head unit (imported) motorised dual face flip screen($1500) SPEAKERS - all boston acoustics, cant remember the exacts, but they cost me $1800 all up BOOT------------------ SUBS - 2 x 15' Fusion Lomus ($2000) - 1 x single flow, dual slot port box (made myself) AMPS - 2 x JL Audio kilowatt amps (subs) (over 2gs i think) - 2 x boss 160 watt amps (fronts) (sfa) - 1 x (grr forgot brand) 400 watt (rears) (also sfa) --------------------------------------------------------------------- i would like to say thats what is in my car, but its not... yet... the dash stuff i have and is probably going in this weekend, if its not raining... 3 of the amps i have, the box design is finally finished and peachy, so once i get some money together, im gunna make that, then buy the amps, then install, then buy the subs (i have other shit subs to take the place for the mean time)... will post pics of the install and what not when i have the $$$... and probably of the car too, when i take some photos...
