If you wash your car every day, the life span of the paintwork will be dramatically reduced, regardless of what you wash it with.

Dvs-jet In Zoom Issue 105 *out Now!*

That looks awesome! Fantastic framing job. -
I think the point people are trying to make, is that you should have backed off when the stones started flicking up at you. Regardless of how pissed off you were, you had no right to become aggressive towards the other driver. anyway..... have you spoken to police today? Have they had the opportunity to speak with the other driver?

If attempting to encourage safe driving makes me a dick, crown me and call me Richard.

Silicone hardens. For applications like this, it's best to use something which stays pliable and can be removed without causing major headaches.

Have a read of this http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...showtopic=35129

You mean the bit where he said: "I go around on the horn and flip the bird."? Yeah I read that bit. The person in front had no way of knowing that they flicked up a rock. All they saw was someone acting aggressively towards them for no apparent reason. Hundreds of people have their windscreens cracked every day, most realise that it's just one of those things that happens when you're out on the road. No, you didn't say a thing about slowing down, but neither did I. You said that you overtook them and abused them. So..... you drove past them flipping the bird in a non violent and non offensive way? The rock hit your screen and you saw red. .....exactly the same thing happened when you read my post. It pissed you off, and you flew off the handle before taking the time to stop and consider how to react to it. When someone does something stupid on the road, you should be taking evasive action, not aggressive action. I'm not trying to say "it serves you right", i'm just saying that the whole mess could have easilly been avoided.

Now I feel mean GO OUT AND BUY IT PEOPLE! John did they offer to provide you with (or sell to you) any other photos which were taken during the shoot? (other than those posted above) That centre one would look really nice blown up.... have you got a higher res version? -
If that's the story that you told to police, then the outcome of this is going to be interesting. If he was spraying rocks at you, why didn't you just pass? That would have avoided the whole situation. Instead, you took the situation into your own hands with a child in the car? I'm not suprised the guy didn't stop..... if some maniac came up next to me and started beeping and flipping me off for no apparent reason, I'd be wanting to get away from them... I'm glad to hear you're both OK, but from your description of events, it sounds like you were the instigator. You say you don't want people to "go hunt this prick", yet you've posted his rego details up?

yeah... i was thinking the same thing and didn't want to be the killjoy, but now that someone else has said something.... Posting the article up here means that people who would have gone out to buy it, probably won't bother buying it now. If people want to see articles on particular vehicles, this is going to be reflected directly by the number of units the magazine sells when certain vehicles are featured. If they sell less magazines when certain cars are in there, (because people are scanning articles instead of paying for them) the magazines will stop featuring those sorts of cars because they don't sell enough copies. Maybe you should consider taking the pics down (at least until the issue is no longer available in stores) so that people go out and buy it. .....otherwise they'll just say to themselves "we featured that 31, and sold 2000 less copies, let's not do that again!" -
100+ individual posts were removed from the music thread, it was dan who cleaned it up. The thread was going quite well until you made the comment of: *In reference to 19 year olds who were sent off by their countries to die in Vietnam during the war I think people had a bit of trouble taking things seriously after you made that comment, and the thread went downhill fairly quickly. Are you willing to accept a bit of personal responsibility as well? When you make claims like that, you have to expect that people will be offended by it.

Silent, people are entitled to have an opinion. The thread where Blitz said "lamest thread" had at least half a dozen other people saying exactly the same thing, but you aren't calling anyone else out on it. Regardless of what you post, people will have an opinion. Some may be good, some may be bad. If everyone thinks and feels exactly the same way, the world would be a very boring place. You seem to have a habit of starting threads, and the minute you notice a comment which isn't in line with your way of thinking, you blank out all your posts so that nobody else is able to make a judgement call on it. You removed the content from the thread which you are making a complaint about, so nobody can check if it is in fact the "lamest thread ever" or if the 7 people who posted in the thread saying it was lame are all ganging up on you. It's exactly the same situation with the thread you started in the wasteland, asking for peoples opinions on a re-make of a song. I'm familiar with the content of this thread, because I saw the thread before you removed the link to the song, and had a chance to read what you posted. A couple of people said they liked it, most people said they didn't like it. Simply because the majority of people said they didn't like it, you cracked the sads and removed the content. There's no real point complaining that moderators aren't doing their job because you didn't like the feedback that people left in your thread. If moderators were to remove any negative posts when someone asks for opinions, wouldn't that defeat the purpose of asking for opinions in the first place?

darkboy & Eug, please take it up in private if you want to go to war over something so ridiculously trivial. Hi, welcome. It's "Type M" (not m-spec) More info here. Not sure about NSW, but in VIC you can only apply for an exemption for work vehicles if it's a company vehicle, not a privately owned vehicle used for work purposes. Meaning... that if you got a "work exemption" you could only drive it during working hours, and you'd have to leave the car at work and catch the bus home. I'd say keep the excel, save some money, build up your driving experience, and wait until you're off your P's to buy the car you want. Apart from inflated running costs (eg; fuel, servicing, spare parts etc) compared to the Excel, the Skyline will also cost you heaps more to insure, especially for a male P plater. You can find a rough guide to what people are having to pay for insurance here.

What Involved In Getting A Cams Racing Licence
SKY031 replied to danoz's topic in General Automotive Discussion
Do they even have a "level 3" anymore? I thought they changed the licencing structure? http://www.cams.com.au for more info -
What were you doing jamming the brush in between the rubber and metal? That sounds more like "user error" than a problem with the brush... Common sense would stop most people sticking the brush in an area where bristles are likely to get caught. Plenty of people have stated that they have used the brush for years with no ill effects. There's normally a queue in all bays and the laser wash at both my local car washes.

I don't think anyone wants to actually drink the recycled water from the car wash... they just want to wash their cars. Bore water is probably safer to drink than "recycled water". Desal plants are able to power themselves these days, but the cost involved is huge, and our govt is tight, and has no vision for the future. Otherwise we wouldn't be suffering such harsh water restrictions right now. Environmental impact studies should have been undertaken at least 20 years ago, in an effort to get more dams/reservoirs in place to cope with standard population growth. This hasn't been done, so now we've got the population boom combined with drought, and we're pretty well screwed. Sounds like you use a car wash which has been imported from the USA and hasn't had it's signs changed?

If "the guy you work with" finds out that Robbie Bolger took out 3rd place in the 2006 Toyo Drift Australia Series Championship, and 2nd place in the Oran Park top eight while driving a Monaro, your argument that you can't drift a V8 is going to go down the gurgler pretty fast.
-
Here you go. New Stage 2 water restrictions Hoses cannot be used to wash cars at any time. Cars can only be washed using a bucket which is filled directly from a tap, high-pressure cleaning device or commercial car wash.
-
As stated several times, this is a myth. Common sense (and the notices around the car wash) tell you to rinse the brush prior to use... you have to assume that the person who used it before you filled it up with dirt and small stones. If you're still not happy with that, use a laser wash. $7~ and NOTHING touches the car. Info and reviews here: http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...showtopic=52668 Worth a read, I would not recommend most of the "popular" brands, because they have plastic components in their motors, and need to be repaired so often that it's just not funny. "Alto" FTW. When the rest of Australia runs out of water, we'll all come stay at your place. Unfortunately water tanks aren't an option for a lot of people. As odd as it sounds, local laws prohibit the use of water tanks in the city I live in. You aren't allowed to take water from the sky, even if it falls on your property. (Probably something to do with the council not being able to charge maximum $$ for sewerage disposal if they can't measure exactly how much water has passed through your property) ....and for the people who live in places which do permit water tanks, the tank water can only be used for washing vehicles if the tank is a stand alone system.

told ya it'd be easy to get out of. The only time they can really make it stick is if the offence was witnessed by Police or EPA officer.

Watched it last night... probably won't bother to watch it again. The cultural stereotyping is ridiculous.
