Just a reminder that this is on tonight if you want to check it out. SK8 2 Death is also on 31 tonight at 10:02 (odd time?) if you like to watch people breaking bones

Is that white 31 a plastic kit? If so, where did you score the mags for it? That's seriously dumped. I like it!

Sold But Not Removed
SKY031 replied to MAX007's topic in Site discussion - including Ideas/Feedback & Bugs
If threads marked as "SOLD" were to be removed, the buyer has no opportunity to leave feedback, so they need to be left on the board. The only thing that will change with archiving, is you won't get results over 12 months old when you search. -
Adult Material
SKY031 replied to satanic's topic in Site discussion - including Ideas/Feedback & Bugs
How are people to know what's inside the thread without clicking? Why would you think that everyone wants to see girly pics? This is an automotive forum, and should be safe to be viewed by people of all ages. If you want to see skin, go to a site that specializes in skin. -
Ash if you read this thread, could you please slot this image back into post #6 of this thread? I can't edit in there anymore. Ta.

Sold But Not Removed
SKY031 replied to MAX007's topic in Site discussion - including Ideas/Feedback & Bugs
We're currently looking into archiving for sale threads which are over 12 months old in order to aid with searches. Hang in there -
So.... it doesn't really achieve anything? All that info is already listed on the build plate.
-
This has already been asnwered in this thread. VicRoads + RWC testers don't care a whole lot about intake mods, it's EPA that you need to worry about. ...and a pod is a pod, it doesn't matter if it's in a box or not, it's still classified as an intake mod.

Your Worst Nightmare- Trashed R33
SKY031 replied to enroe's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
I think "HAVE AN IMMOBILISER" means... make sure you get one. Not "I HAVE AN IMMOBILISER" -

Were they able to lift any prints? -
Good one Nebz! So to all the people having a cry about the restrictions, buy your "high powered vehicle" now, move out of home when you get your licence, and apply for an exemption.
-
Do the standard exemptions apply to these new rules? eg: if it's a business vehicle or if it's the only car you have access to you can get an exemption from VicRoads and still drive it legally?
-
*sigh*. The message behind that statement is... the faster you go, the faster things can get out of control. You have less time/distance to react to an emergency. The faster you're going, the harder you hit. How hard you hit is a major factor when it comes to the difference between being able to walk away from the accident unharmed/with a few scratches & whiplash, or buying yourself a one way ticket to a box under a lawn somewhere. (Or somewhere in between, where you get to have a set of wheels attached to your body for the rest of your life) This sounds speed related? At a lower speed, he may possibly have been able to control the car and not kill himself and someone else. Isn't that 10 too many?
-
It's his car, he can ask what he wants for it. If someone wants it badly enough, they'll pay the asking price. You can pick up a Type M for under $10,000 ...but when you add the cost of the kit parts, suspension bits, mags, stereo, re-spray and all the other things that have been done (or said to have been done) to the vehicle, it's not a totally outrageous asking price, however, the opening line of: is a bit of a stretch.... it obviously needs some work.It mentions that there's damage to the paintwork, the wing has been removed which means the bootlid has holes in it (unless it was stuck on with velcro) and would need repairing or replacing and a respray, so those sorts of things need to be taken into account, and can be used as bargaining chips to try and get the price down a bit. As everyone else has said, if you don't want it, keep looking. If you want it, let the buyer know what you're willing to pay, (reminding them that X,Y & Z needs to be done to the vehicle before you'd be happy to pay X amount) and you can be first in line if/when the price drops low enough.

This is old? I feel dirty now Oh well... it's still new to me. Makes a nice change from Rodders Life and 4WDTV.... although both of those are fairly decent shows, given what they've got to work with. Has anyone else got any more spoilers/info on whose cars & which clubs will be featured on upcoming episodes?

100 Questions for Skyline owners
SKY031 replied to funkymonkey's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
Sorry, but I had to have a laugh at the Japlish on that one. If no one else does not have it, wouldn't that mean that everyone has it? I think I'd better go hide from funky and his stick now. -
Dunno if anyone caught it tonight, but while I was flipping channels during the ad breaks on Temptation, I happened to come across Nigel & the Supra. (at first I thought I'd flipped the AV button and was watching a DVD) It turned out to be the first installment of a new series on channel 31 called "PSI" (stands for 'performance, speed and in-car entertainment' or something along those lines) Check it out next Wednesday. C31 7:00pm. It's good to see some productions like this happening locally, so show the guys and girls involved some support for their good work and check it out!

You might as well buy a stock one to keep as 'spare'. If you've been done once, you'll get done again.

First let me be rude and correct both of you, it's actually "Sikaflex" Sikaflex shouldn't cause damage, it doesn't cure like silicone, and should stay pliable. It sounds like you have a fairly solid case with the bad paint work, but as for the kit issues, it could be a bit trickier. Any kit parts should be able to be put on/taken off without causing damage to the kit, or the car itself. If not, they have been fitted incorrectly. However, the people who cut and re-fitted the kit aren't the same people who broke it. It sounds like the people who fitted it originally did it properly. The painters obviously have no idea, and they had no business cutting anything to "make it fit" when the only dimensional changes made to the kit by a coat of paint are minuscule, and should make no difference at all to fitment. It seems a bit odd that you'd get the kit fitted first, then take it in to be removed, painted and re-fitted? It wasn't stuck on with 2 gallons of sikaflex when it left the glassers workshop, so they obviously weren't expecting it to be there. If they undid all the screws, then went to yank it off the car in the usual manner, it wouldn't have moved. They yank harder, it breaks. The glassers can probably deny any responsibility, because someone else has tampered with it. If you're wanting to take legal action, it would be worth getting some free legal advice to make sure you're chasing after the right person.

Bus Driver Has Over 10 Crashes A Year
SKY031 replied to scathing's topic in General Automotive Discussion
That's a pretty lame argument. If you were unable to stop in time, that would mean you were travelling too closely, and not driving to suit the wet conditions. -
Bus Driver Has Over 10 Crashes A Year
SKY031 replied to scathing's topic in General Automotive Discussion
Good point, but hoons generally don't have the lives of 40+ people in their hands at any given time. Personally, I think that anyone who has more than one "at fault" accident over a 12 month period obviously can't drive, and should have their licence taken away. -
Importing A Road/drift Car
SKY031 replied to danoz's topic in Importing, Compliance, Modification Laws & Regulations
If the car is for track use, it's not subjected to all the same laws as importing for road use. Have a look through some of the websites listed here -
R31 Engine Conversion All Done! But Strange Wiring?
SKY031 replied to rorz's topic in Classic & Vintage (1950's-1980's)
It might pay for you to have a quick scan through this article before you pay someone to take a look. Different gen motor, but wiring seems to be the same.
