  1. From RTA site: Don't mix tyre types or sizes if you can possibly avoid this. Never mix radials with cross-ply tyres on one axle. If you have only 2 radials, they must be on the rear wheels. Always make sure that both front tyres and both back tyres are the same.
  2. Yeah.... that kind of blatant racism/stereo-typing always goes down really well. Anyhoo, if Queensland drivers are worse than Vic drivers, why is the Victorian road toll higher than Queensland? Queensland also has a lower percentage of 65+ year old drivers than Victoria.
  3. agreeing with usherly here..... Being pulled over is the least of her worries. Being dead due to having mismatched tyres should be much more of a concern.
  4. nah i didn't forget, i could go on all day about the stupid and dangerous things that I see people do on the roads on a daily basis. Males are more prone to intentionally engage in activities which are dangerous to people around them. (speeding, erratic lane changes, over-estimating their driving ability etc) Females engage in activities which they think are safe, when really they're too stupid to realise that what they're doing is just as dangerous as driving drunk (or with your eyes closed) I didn't think it was worth mentioning, as im sure that there are women drivers in other countries too I'd like to know what is offered in other countries as far as licencing/driver education goes. From what we see on telly, it seems that the USA teach people how to drive as part of the school curriculum.
  5. On further inspection, this spoiler is modular...... The centre piece is removable. You're getting 2 spoilers for the price of one!
  6. Let's add to this list. Right lane drivers who refuse to "keep left unless overtaking". This is particularly annoying at night, due to the fact that headlights are aimed down and to the left, which means that if you're one of these right lane drivers, you are burning the retinas of the person in front of you so MOVE LEFT RETARD! People who don't indicate at all. People who ignore indicators. People who don't know how to merge. People who think that they're being courteous by stopping the flow of traffic to let someone in who doesn't have right of way. People who push their way in. (see above) People who are too lazy to turn the steering wheel and travel onto the wrong side of the road to turn a corner. People who randomly jam on the brakes for no apparent reason. People who are distracted by screaming kids. People who shave, apply make-up, do their nails - nose and ear picking also falls into this category. People who text while driving (I almost got taken out by someone doing this last week) People who poke out over the white line at T intersections. People who refuse to "give way to pedestrians". People who drive around with high beams on. People who don't understand how zebra crossings/school crossings work. People on pushbikes who ride across pedestrian crossings. (Newsflash, a pedestrian is someone on FOOT, if you're on a bike, you are considered to be traffic, and are subject to all the same road rules as cars, which means you get off the bike to cross the road, or cross with the traffic) I'd like to see some road statstics based on ethnicity, but that would be racist, so it's never going to happen.
  7. C'mon people a little project for the weekend! $180 You know you want it! If you even have a mild interest in this, I urge you to come and see it a.s.a.p, you'll be impressed with it. The photos don't do it any justice.
  8. uh.... do pacemaker make anything that fits Skyline RB motors? The closest I could find to any RB fitment on the website is for the RB30, but the Holden variety... not the Nissan variety.
  9. Hi matty.... no access to more parts, just this one B) How about if I drop the price? $180 anyone interested yet?
  10. I've got a Do Luck "copy" rear wing for sale in melb if you're interested. http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...howtopic=105133
  11. possibly to make them more appealing to the export market?
  12. check out the sticky in for sale, might help http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...showtopic=69684
  13. Not a lot of point in "guesstimates" due to the infinite amount of variables. Best way to find out is to actually put the car on a dyno.
  14. You were so hung up on other peoples spelling and grammar, that I thought I'd better correct your typo so you could sleep at night. schumacher is "CH" not "CK"
  15. Item: This is a copy of a Do Luck wing, to suit an R32. Item Condition: VGC Reason for Selling: I don't have a car that it fits on. Extra Info: Unpainted, has that grey gelcoat stuff on it. Price Reduced! $200 $180 $170 $160 $150 Prefer local buyer I've had a couple of people ask if I can C.O.D this item. 16. This means you have a driving record. You have enough of a bad driving history that you had your licence suspended. When you go to court, it is your previous driving record that will be scruitinized, not "other criminal history". You chose to drive suspended rather than going through the proper channels, which would possibly have allowed you to still be able to drive to and from work while under "suspension". Some states don't consider driving unlicenced and uninsured to be "petty", especially when the person is a repeat offender/has traffic history.
  17. If a magazine said it, it must be true. Have any of these magazine tests shown the effects of ethanol use in older cars? Most people would simply retard their timing if the car was "pinging like crazy".... To continue hammering the car while there is audible pinging is just silly. Sounds more like driver ignorance than a petrol issue.
  18. every hobby shop that i've been into over the past 2 years has been selling these things.
  19. Not causing any harm? Try telling that to the hole in the ozone layer.
  20. I was trying to do the maths on this..... and it wasn't adding up.. I was trying to figure if you'd "stayed back a year" or started school late... Then I realised you live in NSW and can get a licence at 17. as if there's not already enough peer pressure with just having to wear the 'in' clothes, the 'in' shoes, (and accessories) the 'in' hairdo, the 'in' deodorant and having the coolest contact on your books and the most fully sik calculator-cum-pda/phone/mp3 player, you have to drive the right car as well? Are you sure the guy said "rice burner"? If you yell "NICE CAR" it sounds very similar B) I cleaned a couple of uncalled for 'nasty' posts out of here last night, but I didn't leave the thread "empty" like it is now!
  21. If anything, I find that people who drive expensive cars are much more reckless on the road. Perhaps it's because they all have good insurance policies and it doesn't matter who/what they run into.. ...and when they do run into something, money to make the probelm go away is no issue. The more one has to lose, the more careful they are prone to be.
  22. I didn't vote. You won't be back for another 6 months or so anyway..... You don't love us any more. We simply can't compete with World of Warcraft (seriously, wtf is it with wow'ers? It's worse than a drug/gambling addiction... in a few months time we'll see support groups available for addicts.)
  23. Why do you find it intriguing? Commodores have been in production and sold locally since the late 70's... they're cheap, reasonably solid, relatively easy to work on, ideal "P plater" car, no great mystery as to why there's so many of them on the road. The fact that there are so many on the road reflects why the moron ratio is so high amongst the people who drive these cars. If you stuck a label on every "import" i'm sure you'd find that the ratio of morons driving imports would be exactly the same.... but you don't notice it because moron A is in a Supra, moron B is in a Soarer, moron C is in a Skyline, moron D is in a Delica, moron E is in a Mustang etc. As for the dickhead factor, i see more morons getting around in imports and more expensive cars.... it seems the people with the "shitter" cars can't afford to go around belting into everything, so they take more care. Worst offenders around here are: (in no particular order) Terios drivers BMW drivers Camry drivers White van drivers
  24. Are you driving on a victorian or nsw licence? How long have you had the vehicle registered in vic? How long have you been living in nsw? - what i can gather from previous posts, you've been living in nsw for at least 6 months. Unless you can prove that you don't actually live in nsw, you'll just have to wear it. From RTA website: Is your vehicle registered interstate? If you have moved to NSW from interstate with an interstate-registered vehicle, you must register your vehicle in NSW. You must bring your interstate number plates with you when you apply to register your vehicle in NSW. You'll have to surrender your interstate plates before you'll be given NSW plates. All second-hand vehicles requesting establishment of registration (including interstate and imported vehicles) may be selected for an additional inspection by the RTA's vehicle identity unit. You will be notified at the time of registration if you are selected. blah blah blah...... Second-hand vehicles (interstate) To establish registration for a second-hand vehicle purchased interstate, you will need to go to a motor registry and provide: * Proof of your identity (see related link above right) or, if registering the vehicle in the name of a company, proof of company name and the ACN/ARBN number. * Proof of acquisition (eg a receipt for purchase of the vehicle, certificate of registration signed by the previous registered operator/s of the vehicle, or the previous certificate of registration in the same name if coming from interstate). * Proof of your residential address (see related link above right). * A valid Compulsory Third Party insurance policy – also known as a green slip – with the number plate section blank (not required for trailers). * An inspection report – also known as a blue slip – from an Authorised Unregistered Vehicle Inspection Station (AUVIS). If there is no AUVIS in your area, you can get a pink slip from an Authorised Inspection Station (AIS) instead of the blue slip. * Your interstate number plates – you'll have to surrender your interstate plates before you'll be given NSW plates. * Evidence of eligibility for any concession (see related links to Pensioner concessions and Apprentice registration rebate above right). * A completed Application for Registration form. * Payment for registration, including stamp duty (3% of the vehicle's purchase price, 5% if more than $45,000) and applicable number plate fee.
  25. There is a thread up the top of the victorian section with a list of workshops if you're willing to travel south. an "unlisted" business who are still learning how to use their dyno probably isn't the best place to take the car. change the pods now. don't wait for a special occassion, the car needs to breathe! If you're happy to go with a 2wd dyno rather than travel a couple of hundred k's (only to possibly break down on the way and have to be towed), you could try Edge Mechanical, 592B Nurigong Street, Albury Ph: (02) 6021 8767 They're listed on the dyno dynamics site as Diagnosing problems, tuning, high performance, EFI repair, EFI mapping, carburettor calibration, turbo/super charging Cars, Trucks and Motorcycles
