  1. I've spotted a few regular name changes of threads in certain areas, i never know if it's the thread starter doing it, or someone else. I've previously had my personal details changed by an admin, (the "care bears" incident for example) as have many others. Some people can find the intended humour, and others don't think it's funny, but really, nobody should be altering anyones personal account details unless there is something which NEEDS to be changed. (porn, threats, rotten links, inappropriate stuff) If suss things are happening to your account or posts/threads, report it. If you report the post in the area where the "offence" occured, the notification of the post report will go out to the person who moderates the area... in cases like this, it's most likely that the person who has modified your post will also be the one to receive the notification that the post has been reported, so they can choose to ignore it... if you have concerns about this, take it up directly with another mod/admin for your own peace of mind, and to ensure that it IS actually being dealt with. ....... in the meantime, this thread has had over half a thousand views, pretty good publicity for the sale of the car.
  2. ........or you could just keep asking the same question after it's already been answered.
  3. The number you've got listed is MTW150F. This item is priced at $118 brand new. If you've given the right number, then someone has led you astray in regards to the actual price.
  4. Tell your mate to register if he wants to advertise here.
  5. erm....... awesome pics.
  6. I don't think I have the ability to warn a "superior"
  7. Thread cleaned........ If you don't want to buy, don't post.
  8. You're right, that's utter crap. The thread has been cleaned up.
  9. Please don't multipost threads. http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...howtopic=162372
  10. Darn those conspiracies. The TAC website allows you to do a filtered search, you can choose to search pedestrians, cyclists, passengers, and (wait for it...) drivers. I imagine that other states would also have access to local databases which carry similar information. How this is a manipulation of facts?
  11. That camera man standing directly in front of the barrier barely flinched. Things look a lot further away when you're watching the world through a view finder, but you'd think he'd have realised it was headed straight at him!
  12. According to this, yes, it's something which should be checked (and fixed if needed) during the compliance process.
  13. ........and fuel watch http://www.fuelwatch.com.au/prices/top100.cfm If you're at the stage where it's important to you that you can manage to save 30c on a tank of fuel, it may be time to consider buying a different car.
  14. Trojan, you're now infected. Enjoy.
  15. SBS are doing an Insight program on P platers, P plate restrictions, and deaths amongst young drivers. Seeing as so many people have fairly strong views about this, it might be worth watching. The program will be aired at 7:30pm on Tuesday, but if you're unable to watch it, it will be replayed on Friday 23rd at 1:30pm, and again on Monday 26th at 2:30pm.
  16. Nup nope It is not uncommon to see an infringement notice has a serious defect that renders it invalid. The legislation sets out what information the notice must contain, although they always contain a lot of information that is not prescribed by the legislation. Not every mistake in the infringement notice will render it invalid but if some essential ingredient in the notice is missing or incorrect then the notice may be invalid and you may be advised not to object to an invalid notice. The top section of the fine has information to identify the driver (name, address, licence number, date of birth, car colour etc). This enables VicRoads to identify the driver to suspend the licence or record demerit points. If there is sufficient information to enable VicRoads to identify the driver a small error here won't make any difference to the validity of the fine. If the fine has blank sections or misdescriptions in essential areas, such as the period of suspension, the date of the offence, the location of the person who issued the notice, the alleged speed or BAC etc, then the fine may be defective to the point that it is invalid. Calling the police within 12 months of the date of offence to boast or complain that they made a mistake on the fine will result in a corrected TIN being sent to you in the mail, thus resolving the issue in their favour. source
  17. If you're in Melbourne, check out my sig
  18. ....or you could save $450 and buy the cheapo jack and a couple of bricks. Stick the bricks in front (or behind) the wheels, (depending which end you want to jack up) then drive onto the bricks to slide the jack under
  19. Yep, the noise tests are done by approved testers, carried out at various locations. (*link to list of approved testers*) ....but your post didn't specify either way, just "got sent a EPA thing where he has to take it in to get tested"... any EPA requires taking it in and getting tested, the testers don't come to you.
  20. You haven't specified the type of test? Is it a "full" EPA, or is it just an exhaust db test? If it's just a noise test, then it will be fine. If it's a full EPA test, he'd better start collecting stock parts. .....either way, the vehicle is in someone elses name now, so any problems encountered, or any notices received after the date of ownership change aren't your responsibility.
  21. VicRoads and EPA don't work hand in hand. You'll probably be able to pass a roadworthy, but if you get pulled over by Police and they ask you to pop the bonnet, you'll be sent off to the EPA where you will get reamed. With the modifications you listed, it's unlikely that you'd meet emission standards.
  22. Vehicles must be manufactured during or after 1986, currently registered, and have at a very minimum 3rd party insurance. The only way to get around this is with a special exemption, or if the vehicle is a trade stand promo vehicle. ....however, there is now an "old school legends" category, not sure what the conditions for entry into this category are, but vehicles entered in this category aren't eligible for the regular autosalon trophies. Privateer entry is $240 (if you'd paid yesterday it would have been half price, but the early bird prices have now closed) More information: http://www.autosalon.org/cms/pdfs/19.pdf
  23. It's nothing to do with the boot being sealed, or the battery compartment being sealed, it's whether or not the battery itself is a sealed (non-servicable) battery.
  24. ....and is that the full story? Battery in the boot may be a part of the standard set up, but the battery needs to be a sealed unit if it's in the boot. If it wasn't a sealed unit, then the Police were doing your friend a favour, not picking on him.
  25. Hi, Welcome aboard! You should find most of the answers here :sorcerer:
