  1. I know bugger all about the RB20, (can't be too different from the other RB's) but from watching everyone elses issues, I'd say that the leak was caused simply by age. If the original lid had a dodgy seal, it wouldn't have been creating the type of pressure that it should have been, and as soon as it was under the proper amount of pressure it's just gone "BLEH" (If that makes sense) I'll stop with the guesswork now, and leave it to someone who knows their stuff
  2. +1 to all of those as well with firefox 2.0.0.2
  3. It says it on the internet so it must be true. So... what happens with time slips? Do you pick them up at the McDonalds drive-thru? .... does that mean that 11.75 is the cost of a meal and not my 1/4 mile time?
  4. If you want it gone, you can remove it yourself. Get a spray bottle, fill it with water. Spray the tint with water and cover it with a black garbage bag. Leave the car sitting in the sun. It should steam itself off. However, it seems a bit odd that it would have passed compliance if the tint is "too dark".
  5. Not sealed? Which engine is this on? If the PS pump has crapped out, putting a hole in the lid won't fix the problem. I think you'll find the reason that so many people experience issues with leaking, is because most people are still running the original hoses, which have understandably perished over time. However, I'm always happy for people to prove me wrong, it's all in the interest of learning
  6. the system operates under pressure and has a relief valve to stop excess pressure build up. Drilling a hole in it would probably be similar to drilling a hole in your fuel tank.
  7. Firefox 2.0.0.2 here as well also....... none of the drop down boxes are functioning for me at all, anywhere.
  8. Issues I'm experiencing: (searched through, couldnt find them on the list) * clicking the "quote" button returns me to the top of the page instead of grabbing the quote * clicking "forum options" takes me to the bottom of the forum section that the button resides within * Unable to view profiles Unrelated, but maybe still of interest if you want to keep a link to the wiki in the forum, All wiki admins lost their access some months ago, and nobody has been able to add/edit anything (amongst other outstanding issues)

    My First Fine!

You do realise that's illegal..... right? ...and yet you post up the information on a public forum which is frequented by Police? Well done
  10. There's approximately 16.4 kg of sound deadener on the floor of the average 31 GTR_R31 removed his with a heat gun..... so yeah, it works, it just isn't as clean because it goes all gooey and tacky when it gets hot, which means that you need to wash the rest off with spirits.
  11. Living in Greece now? Last time it was Budapest To which someone replied with:
  12. Did you see this thread? blue and grey R34 GTRs, 1/18 scale - $50 ea
  13. Nice write up The first video sounds like popcorn! Is there any risk of residual damage/weakening of metal due to the temperatures that are reached? eg, if you accidentally drop a hammer on the floor of the car after an hour, is there any risk that the floor pan could just.... shatter? ...or could it affect fuel lines, or the fuel in the lines running under the car? (can you tell i've never played with this stuff?)
  14. Someone was selling some in the "for sale, other items" section a while ago, might be worth having a dig around in there
  15. You may be a mechanic, but if you're not a panel beater, it's not really up to you to say how much the damage will cost to repair. $300 isn't much. I had someone reverse into my Ti in a car park (came out just in time to see it happen) it was mostly paint transfer, but the bar had a tiny squished flat spot, and the quote to fix it at a reputable place was almost $600 There is a fair amount of work involved in these sorts of repairs, it's not just a matter of "it'll buff right out", would you like it if someone hit your pride and joy and then expected you to get it fixed cheaply? The "3 quotes" thing which people have mentioned is a bit of a crock too... it's their car, they can take it to any repairer of their choice. If she doesn't agree with it, then she can refuse to pay. The worst they can do is take you to court.... in which case she'll get stuck with paying their court fees and the $300 If the damage is as minor as you say, it won't be hard to prove that it wasn't possible to cause damage to the suspension. I hope you took photos of the damage to both cars.
  16. I think a couple of people have missed the point of this thread.... It's meant to be a register for rare Skylines which people actually own.... not a list of different models available. If you have any information that you'd like to add about different model Skylines and/or their specifications, please do it in this thread.
  17. Not all Skylines are "sports cars".... for all we know it could have an RB20E in it.
  18. I've split the posts out of here and stuck them into the other thread.... best to keep it all in one place
  19. We're the ones who are going to have to put up with your whining and complaining, and the 70 threads you're going to start about how much of an outrage it is that you lost your licence for driving a vehicle which you shouldn't have been driving, or how evil the insurance companies are because they won't pay out on your next 'at fault' accident because (again) you were driving a car that you shouldn't have been driving. .....so take it like a man, or take it somewhere else
  20. The difference, is that a "high powered vehicle" is capable of reaching high speeds over a very short period of time and over a much shorter distance than the average run about. ......where as with an Excel, you're more likely to get foot fatigue from holding your foot to the floor for 3 hours while trying to get it to go 180kph.
  21. Blue... or yellow Yellow won't look too strange, it goes really well with blue if it's the right shade of yellow, and there's already a splash of yellow in the engine bay, so it shouldn't look too out of place. If you add a colour other than blue or yellow, it might start to look too busy. If you're after some inspiration, check out this thread.
  22. They were never sold here new, so it would be a bit hard to establish a price. There's a site here which lists the prices when new in Yen
