  2. To all the people who are wanting to use ignorance as an excuse, it's a lovely idea, but it doesn't work that way. When you get your licence, you are made aware of the fact that to p2w restriction is enforced in Vic. It is YOUR responsibility to buy a car which is legal to drive under the p2w restrictions. You can't just say "i didn't know". The same applies with everything.... ignorance is no excuse. Road use is a privilege, not a right, and as such, it's up to each individual to seek out any information that is applicable. The same applies to any modifications you do to your car. Before you do ANYTHING to it, it is up to YOU to find out the legalities of what you plan to do. The reason that people get defected for these things, is because some modifications can be dangerous.... to the driver, to the passengers and to other road users. Personally I don't have a problem with p2w, i was driving a high powered car on my P's (a million years ago) but the car was extremely heavy (read tank), and the weight of the car made it OK for me to drive...... HOWEVER....... a new driver, with a high powered vehicle, is just a recipe for disaster.... especially when a few mates are in the car and you want to show everyone how good your driving skills are, or how fast your car can go. getrippedoff yes there are exemptions. If the car is the only one registered at your home address, then you can apply for an exemption. Contact VicRoads if you're after more info. Well...... which dickhead would that be? There's a new dickhead every week. I don't know how often you watch or read the news, but young people in high powered cars are still dying on the roads every day. (and killing others while they're at it) This is why there is a p2w restriction in the first place. However, the majority of new drivers tend to think their driving skills are superior, and that the "P" plate stands for "professional". There's a lot of things about driving on the road that can only be learned with time and experience.

Ewwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww! [edit] shhhhhh! it's 2am here, and when i read that i cacked myself laughing. I hope i didnt wake anyone up. That was very yucky, and yet very entertaining at the same time. OK, let me steer away from the "trout" issue, and try to get back on the same track without being so vulgar (and yet so funny at the same time ) Some countries have customs that we wouldn't consider to be "normal" IE: you cant show certain parts of your body (i think there is somewhere you can't show your elbows?) im trying to think of examples and im coming up blank. Spitting - some cultures are big on spitting, where as i find it totally repulsive. Littering - people throw crap where ever they want to here, but i'm sure there are places in the world where people have learned how to use bins.
  4. So "ji" is pronounced with a hard "j" ? Sta Gee Aaah or Sta Jee Aaah ? ....still no less confused yet

monkeys would be excellent! (but smelly) I can't imagine keeping a penguin as a pet. Do you keep them in the freezer? and... any response to the bottom half of my last post? I can't help my curiosity.... if I'm learning stuff, then it can't be a bad thing
  6. um I think you mean "bonding"....... bondage is whips and chains :whip:

So..... do people keep exactly the same sorts of pets that we do here? dogs, cats, birds, lizards, rats, mice, fish, caveys, snakes, turtles, frogs.... is there anything out of the ordinary? my brain is working overtime and i cant sleep.... so im just going to sit here and ask stupid questions ......cos its my thread an i can i know that some countries have rules about women (yes you know what im going to ask, and i have to ask it) .... about women not being able to enter certain areas when they're menstruating. Like temples etc. Is this applicable in Japan? If not, are there any other customs that would be a slap in the face to a stranger in a strange land?
  8. :spew: You know what it is? People only want to post in here when they have "the wisdom of wardest". No wardest, no point posting. .........but anyway, back in the real world...... I think in the lead up to christmas, everyone has double the workload on their plates. Either that, or there are so many goddam forums here now, that nobody can find the vic section any more.
  9. Yes, you are registered. But you need to log in to the for sale section. Top right hand side. With your standard log in details ....on this note, i would like to let admin know that I am unable to log out. I tried to log out to take a screen shot, and it takes me to the "please wait, logging out" screen, but it still shows me as logged in..... with the "log out" button visible. *shrug*

Can i hijack my own thread? I have another stupid question and i don't really want to start another thread. I'm curious about house pets. Are house pets popular in Japan, or do people just entertain themselves with gadgets? What sort of pets do people keep? (I just wanted a chance to show off my new buddies!) Check them out! I don't have time for a dog or a cat, so these guys are perfect! Try to refrain from the "can i eat them" comments
  11. Try cleaning them with kerosene on a rag.... but DO NOT let it touch the tyres.
  12. We all know how reliable the info in magazines is I've always pronounced it Stay-jee-ahh. As long as people know what you're talking about, then I don't think it matters all that much.
  13. yay i sucked....... i got a whole 6 points
  14. inark are you meant to be a mod in this section? Can you move this to where it's meant to be please?
  15. er... going back to what I said before, if you have a factory cooler, then it's not an induction modification, it's a part of the standard factory induction system. An aftermarket filter is a modification. A factory cooler is not a modification. :bonk:
  16. ???????????????????????? Where can you get a 32 for under $5k?
  17. No soup for you! If the car has a factory fmic, you can intall an aftermarket filter. Factory fittings aren't modifications. factory cooler + aftermarket filter = 1 x modification.
  18. Absolutely not. K & N make a huge range of un-oiled filters.
  19. Provided you take it easy in the last 5 minutes of driving before you turn the car off, then a timer isn't really needed. If it was, it would be installed by the factory. Just don't thrash the car before you turn it off.
  20. No problem. Click here
  21. There is an option on the top left that lets you change the number of ads displayed per page. Honestly, i just think people are scared of change. As soon as something is different, everyone panics. How about take some time to get used to it! Explore the features it offers. If you haven't found the "display X amount of ads per page" feature, then you can't have spent much time in there. I have spent a total of about 3 minutes in there, just to look around, but i managed to find it.

er.... whats in a MOS burger?
  23. I didn't vote, because I don't care either way. However, if going back to the old for sale section will stop things like this http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/sh...ead.php?t=55491 then i'm all for it

    Food.....

Wow.... if you think Domo-kun looks like a chicken nugget, I don't want to eat what you're eating! I think he looks more like.... a furry eskimo pie. (with arms and legs) anyhoo........ Is duck more of a Chinese ingredient? It didn't even rank in Evo_Lee's list. Is living in Japan (after growing up somewhere else) a real culture shock from a food aspect? I mean, fruit and vegetables... even something as basic as fruit and veg can be hugely different. I live in an area that is highly populated with people from Vietnam and India, and recently a heap of shops have opened up that specialise in strange herbs and spices, and fruits and vegetables that you wouldn't find in a regular grocery store. Things like lychees, daikon, taro, santonsai, bitter melon, hairy melon, sin qua, mangosteen, and a bunch of other stuff that i wouldn't have any idea how to cook. Are these things used in every day cooking? Or are they more of a specialty item? Can you buy regular "aussie" type vegies from the vegie shop, or do you have to seek them out?

    Food.....

Hi there! Me again, back with some more of my silly ignorant questions. I just got to thinking.... Japan must have been invaded with things like McDonalds and KFC and Burger King/Hungry Jacks etc etc. I was just wondering what sort of things you'd find on the menu in these places that you wouldn't find anywhere else. Seeing as they try to cater to everyone, I was wondering what sort of things can be found on the menu.... things that wouldn't be on the menu in aus. I mean...... Do they sell McDuckets (duck) instead of McNuggets (chicken)? Tofu burgers? I like to watch cooking shows, and I don't think I've ever seen a Japanese chef cook with chicken. (Iron Chef is awesome, it's one of my favourite shows )
