Here in Melbourne Initial D DVD's can be purchased from most Autobarn stores. If they don't have them in stock, they will order them in for you.

The car they're talking about is the R31 House HR31 that came over from Japan for the drift nats. Last year BOWZER participated in the drift nats, as well as a few other 31's. Pics from last years drift nats

Don't use degreaser. The only thing it is good for is causing damage. (And it's extremely bad for the environment) Go to your local Autobarn/Repco/Bursons and seek out a product made by Kenco called "Shift-It". It is the most brilliant product around. Works better than degreaser, removes grease, oil, dirt, it won't cause hoses to start perishing (like degreaser will) and it won't strip the skin off your hands (like degreaser will) Once you've tried it, you'll never look back.

I have Initial D on PSX It's good fun, but it was too easy. I clocked it the first day I played it.

But what is "the correct section"? There is no "skyline specific discussion" area. Considering that this is meant to be "Skylines Australia", the first section should be devoted to Skylines. A section named "general automotive discussion" relates to everything.... including "non Skylines"......... This is Skylines Australia..... the Skylines should have a place devoted solely to them.

sorry inark, i was stereotyping, but for a reason.. if you are not of that stereotype, then you're not a part of the problem on our roads. I'd like to see frequent compulsory licence retesting. ..and people who have conditions on their licence need those conditions reviewed regularly. Some people just become complacent and don't even realise how crap their driving is. More widespread advertising of any changes to road rules would be handy. and how about if you had to have a first-aid certificate to get a licence? That way every car at the scene of an accident would carry at least one person who has a better chance of keeping injured people alive. People who are repeat speeding offenders could do a couple of weeks community service at a rehabilitation unit where they can see for themselves the sort of damage that can be caused when a car hits a solid object. There are so many angles that could be looked at...

I can remember what it was like to be 18 (barely!) When you are 18... You think you know all there is to know in life. You know better than everyone else. You are invincible. Fatal accidents only happen to other people. When people see formula one drivers or supercar drivers fanging it around the track, they want to go and do the same thing. It just turns out that the closest place to do it, is right outside the front door. They don't give an instants thought to the fact that the only reason the professionals so often walk away from incredible stacks, is because their cars have roll cages, and they are wearing body suits and helmets. The have medical crews on stand-by, all the other cars in the race are there by their own consent, and the drivers are aware that motor racing is a very dangerous sport, and even under such highly controlled conditions, deaths still occur. In the wrong hands, a drivers licence is a licence to kill.

.....it's not flammable (as some movies would like you to believe.) and if you're silly enough to have it hooked up while you're driving around the streets, then you deserve to get reamed. It's quite legal to have the system installed in the car, provided the bottle is only hooked up when you're on the strip.

haha nice thread as always. Hi Wardest, long time no see, welcome back. This section of the forum could do with a bit of shaking up, and you're just the person to do it.

It's interesting what you find when you actually bother to read stuff...... From the VicRoads site (just above the .pdf file you mentioned)

Sleep is over rated anyway.

From what I understand (which probably isn't a whole lot) the O2 sensor doesn't do much while the car is at idle, so you probably wouldn't notice a difference unless you took it for a drive. (If anyone can shed some more light on this, then please do!)

Don't forget Heathcote. - 2hrs .......and i'd like to see anyone get from Melb to Winton (at a legal speed) in 2.5 hours.

Yes, you are thinking of something else. Cutting compounds will remove layers (as in "cut and polish") However, I wouldn't recommend that anyone actually use cutting compounds on Skylines, due to the fact that it will breach the clearcoat, and it will ultimately cause damage to the paintwork.... the only fix for this is a full respray.

Everyone I know who has purchased a "Gerni" or "Karcher" brand pressure washer has had to have it fixed repeatedly....and I certainly wouldn't recommend either of them. We have an Alto. They are made in Denmark, and are the only brand on the market with an entirely metal pump. (No plastic bits to break) Available at Bunnings (in the toolshop) Prices vary from about $100 for the small one... but there are many different models, and a huge price range. There is also a "rim brush"..... which is a rotating brush for cleaning mags. They are well worth checking out. Oh, and most importantly, the units are a lovely shade of blue. Remember the name...... Alto Check it out next time you're at Bunnings

It's not "imports" that they are bagging. It's high powered vehicles with inexperienced drivers.

I agree with your statement, however...... there is nothing in the report that indicates the driver was under 21. but, the 2 rear passengers that died were teenagers. [edit] I'm sure if it was a BMW or a Volkswagen, the media wouldn't have even mentioned the type of car, But it doesn't make this any less tragic. Hopefully there's a lesson to be learned. Next time you have some friends in the back, and decide to "give it a splurt", imagine how you'd feel if you were the driver of that car, and you just killed your 2 best mates....
-
aaahahahahaha! Yeah that's what i get for jumping on the computer before i've had a coffee in the morning... You'll need to get as much of the clearcoat off as possible. Keep a can of primer handy while you're sanding... if you go back to metal, hit it with the primer.
-
How much of the car? Are you doing things like the inside of the boot/ under the bonnet/ door sills etc? Is it just an external respray?
-
No problemo!!!!!!

1/ Go find a Magistrates court. 2/ Take $100 with you 3/ Tell the registrar what has happened, and that you want to sue the driver. Note: The driver, not the owner. 4/ Pay the $97 or whatever it is. 5/ He gets served, craps his pants and pays the bill, plus the $97 you spent. 6/ You get your car fixed. 7/ Everyone lives happily ever after.

If you want to be a real tight ass, "GO-LO" sells exactly the same stuff as autobarn, for $10 a sheet. [edit] ferni try some places that manufacture security screens. Security mesh is perfect size, allows good airflow, and can be cut with a regular pair of scissors.

After Sprinters slice of wisdom, it's my turn for a bit of trivia. Did you know......... That during our lifetimes, the average human will eat 8 spiders while asleep. That's right...... the little bastards crawl around looking for a nice little place to build their web in, they crawl into your mouth, and the rest is history.
