    PALM-info?

Due to legal reasons, it is against forum policy for users to put a name to workshops that they have had bad experiences with. So..... if anyone has had a bad experience with PALM, send Seratoga a private message

    Heeeelp!!!

SKYNUTS don't even bother trying to pass an EPA test with no cat... the fine is something like $2000? (I'm sure someone will know the exact amount) Read the fine print.... if you live more than 40k's away from the testing centre, you can get an exemption.
  3. So does postwhoring but that hasn't been taken away
  4. I liked the way that random pictures from the gallery displayed at the bottom of the main index.... it gave everyone a chance to see each others cars, and other interesting motor/parts pics. Will this be coming back? ...and if not, was there a reason it was removed? I thought it was a good feature. :blah:
  5. You say that you were judging from 1/2 a tank to 1/4 of a tank. It doesn't work that way. If you fill the tank, you will get more K's between Full and half, than you will between half and empty. When was the last time you changed your fuel filter? Also take a look at the fuel you're using. Optimax (in my opinion) isn't as good as some of the other available fuels, and you won't get the best economy on crappy fuel.
  6. No. The fastest cars are all autos Tell him to get some quotes on getting his existing diff rebuilt. If he wants to turbo the car, he will need to either do a manual conversion, or spend a heap of money getting the gearbox strengthened.... the auto won't live long once the car has been turbo'd. For more info on turbocharging, see here He'll be looking at around $2000 (That's not including brake upgrade, intercooler, exhaust or strengthening the auto) $2000 is a fairly standard price for all the parts that are involved. He'll probably also need a new set of bolts for the manifold.... it's pretty common for them to snap when you try to undo them.
  7. I was told it was shut down due to heavy rain. It may have happened earlier in the day? But it wouldn't suprise me..... even in my very underpowered car, i was having traction problems at Heatchcote. It's not a very sticky track.
  8. I thought that if you got pulled over for an RBT that they were only entitled to do the RBT?
  9. Why warn people? If you drink and drive you deserve to get caught.
  10. where's the 31?
  11. 12. East Bear make a carbon fibre bootlid that sits flush. If you want to import one, talk to Rezz or go here
  13. Why not just get a proper vehicle tracker? One of these would have been ideal for another member who had taken their car somewhere to get it fixed, and when they went to pick it up it had a lot more k's on it than when he dropped it off. This can not only tell you where your car is, but also where it's been Rhino Tracks There are a lot of similar products on the market.
  14. I'm assuming we're talking Aus spec 31's here. You can get a decent amount of power out of an NA RB30, if the car is as stock as a rock, then you should get minimum 92(ish)rwkw (if its any less, theres something wrong with it) Its not hard to get around 105rwkw with minimal mods, extractors, exhaust, pod filter, cam, ecu chip..... depends what your ultimate goals are. If you don't want to play around trying to squeeze power out of an NA, then it's not too much trouble to turbocharge the motor using bolt ons from the VL., with an expected power output of around 140-150 rwkw. You can improve on that figure depending on how much money you have to spend on a bigger turbo, aftermarket ecu, etc. As far as 1/4 mile times go, completely stock the car should do high 16's low 17's NA mods low 16's Turbo (standard RB30ET setup) you're into the 14's The sky is the limit providing you have the money. Expect to see one of the R31 Skyline Club cars getting times in the 11 second bracket in full street trim in the next few weeks
  15. One would think that considering 33's are so common over this side of town, that most large retail chains would stock them. MaXiMuS007 exactly what sort of battery are you after? I'll keep an eye out on my travels.
  16. I did a lot of shopping around trying to get a good price, and in the end i got a 550cca from Big-W Is there something special about the batteries that go into 32/33/34 ? I don't see the difference between buying a battery or a set of spark plugs or a set of seat covers... its all the same retailers, with the same products, the ones that buy in bulk are going to be the ones with the best prices. IE: Big-W "we sell for less" and in the end, they did. If i had gone straight there to begin with, i could have saved $15 in fuel shopping around.
  17. Theres another issue with the members gallery...... I'll try to explain the best i can.... go to this link http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/photopost...embers.php?sl=s then try to get to page 2 of the 's' users down the bottom it shows there are 3 pages of galleries with 's' usernames. if you try to access the 2nd or 3rd page of 's' users, it takes you back to 'a' also, if you try to expand the results to show 24 names per page, it again takes you back to 'a'

  19. There was a purple 32gtr available on the list of one of the importers (JMS or Prestige) cant remember which one, it was $10,000 race import only.... something like that would be ideal by the sounds of it.
  20. I first registered on the SDU forums Feb 2002, then re-registered with a less silly name in August 2002 I spent a fair bit of time on irc (my irc name was ^PasSeNGeR^ back then) talking to Squizz in #skylinesdownunder ... then one day he came and told me to join #skylinesaustralia .... and the rest is history. I came to SAu (as per my profile) in June 2002 There are a few names missing of the list of "old school" members, a few more that have been around forever are R31 Heaven SATO GTS NismoR31Jet aka DVSJET Leewah BDP Fenn
  21. If you use mIRC, join #skylinesaustralia on Austnet.
  22. If you're going to do it, it's worth doing a bit of research. If it's done properly, you'll be very happy with the result, if it's done on the cheap, things will start to fall apart. Check out gas research kits. The most important thing in a gas only system is proper lubrication. As far as octane goes, LPG is around 110 octane. Regular petrol 92(ish) octane and PULP 95(ish) octane
  23. Hi mitch94.. fancy bumping into you here I'm the one that's been advising you on mods (and wheels) on the SVD forums As far as "cheap" mods go, there are a lot around... but free ones, well.... air box mod is about the only "free" mod, provided you can find the bits you need for it. (One tricky way of doing it is cutting a hole in the top of the air box, then swivelling it around to face forward) Even something as simple as advancing the timing will probably end up costing you money, chances are good that if you advance the timing, it will cause the car to ping, and you will need to run premium instead of regular fuel. The laws of physics say that "for every action, there is an equal but opposite re-action" ......in the land of cars, all that means is "if you want power, it's going to cost"
  24. I scored some Nissan throw over covers from autobarn in doncaster..... they had other brands too.
  25. It's an International event, which started in Japan... so it's all R31's, (even the South African ones) Because we also have R31 Pintaras in Australia, we're broadening the scope and asking the Pintaras to play a part in this too. An R31 is an R31. Aus GTS/GTS2, GTS, GTSX, Passage GTS-R, GX, GXE, Silhouette, Ti, Executive, Pintara,or even a wagon...... if it's a 31, we want to see it!
