  1. Well I guess that the government should just ban cars altogether so that this doesn't happen again. Is that what you want? Is that the only way that people can be taught that driving is a privilege, not a right? When it comes to crimes compensation for the victims family, who will be sued? Nissan motor company, or the person who made the decision to treat the vehicle as something other than a transportation device?
  2. My father died of cancer 13 years ago, but we were never close. Consider yourself very lucky to have known such a wonderful woman, and be thankful that she is finally free of pain. ....and you'll always be able to find a friend on these forums when you need someone.
  3. well it wasn't 90% the driver. It was 100% the driver. When an innocent person gets shot, is it 10% the guns fault? When an innocent person gets stabbed, is it 10% the knifes fault? NO! I think that a few people need a lesson in taking responsibility for their actions.
  4. Convertible R31 (yes it's real) 1st pic 2nd pic
  5. ...and I think comments like that are 100% ignorance. If the car is parked on the side of the road, it can't hit someone at 115kph. It's not until someone gets behind the wheel that it becomes a 1200kg lethal weapon. Yes, any car has the capability, but cars which are able to reach high speeds very quickly are just an accident waiting to happen when there is an inexperienced driver behind the wheel. ~K
  6. You can get a permit so that you can drive an unregistered car on the road. For more information click here
  7. Series one and two had the same auto box. It was changed for the series 3 models.
  8. shouldnt this be part of the regular 'sightings' thread?
  9. That site just links to Yahoo Japan..... I doubt you'll find any seelers who are willing to ship to Austalia. (Unless you have mates in Japan)
  10. You don't want to buy a 'cheap' GT-R If you do, you'll end up way out of pocket after you've fixed all the 'minor' problems.
  11. There is a 2 different types of 'defect' They can issue you with a 'defect notice' which is a minor notice telling you to fix stuff... or they can issue a major defect notice, in which case you are given a pretty yellow sticker. I'm guessing yours was a minor notice.
  12. oh god..... another year.
  13. need for speed. Try Autobarn. They stock most of that stuff now.
  14. ..geez, this was a pretty old thread to dredge up! Um, don't worry ted, this was posted by a NSW user. Those sort of laws don't apply in VIC. (yet)
  15. If it's just a cracked cover, then take the left one off. It's a Skyline.... it can handle it Too easy Lots of options, starting with basic NA mods, extractors, pod, exhaust. If he wants to go turbo, then the VL turbo bolt on bits will give him a nice and easy extra 30 to 50rwkw Then if he's still power hungry, there are still places to go. RB25det, RB26det, RB30det......... How much does he want to spend on mods? As far as enginge modifications go, its gotta be one of the easiest to modify.
  16. er..... i already posted them? :headspin: Nothing illegal about it.
  17. As far as radar detectors go, the penalty for being caught with one is worse than the penalty for getting caught speeding. Scanners..... Uniden are one of the more popular makes in the cheaper price range. Assuming you're talking hand held, then Dick Smith currently have one for $89 Scanners don't work like TV's, so you don't have set channels... its more a group of frequencies, because all the emergency services operate on repeaters. (Transmit on one channel, recieve on another) You will need to check with a radio recievers registry (used to be able to buy these at DSE as well, not sure if youstill can) to find which frequencies are used in your area... or.... you could look it up on the net, like i just did, and find that some nice person has gone to the trouble of listing them. click here for the list In fact, the guy who owns that website has done all the emergency services for Aus (as well as a bunch of other stuff!) ..... so if anyone else wants the info, check it out here
  18. Yes it's revenue raising, but at the same time, the "speed limit" is posted as the maximum speed at which you are permited to travel in optimum conditions. The whole "Speed Kills" issue has nothing to do with any of this. We all know it's a bunch of crap. However....... If you don't like the speed limits, then don't obey them, but don't complain when you get caught breaking the law. It's a law that applies to everyone. Not just those who choose to obey it. Driving is a privelige not a right.
  19. It's got nothing to do with Police being sneaky..... stop thinking that you're better than all the other road users, don't believe that you're above the law, and stop speeding!! Problem fixed.
  20. Your profile says you have an 87 Skyline....... Take into account that unless you have converted the front to series 3, that the GTS2 bits won't fit on the front. and if you wanted to change the front bar, you'd probably aslo need to change the reo.
  21. Yet another reminder of how important it is to remain constantly vigilant on the road, especially at this time of year when there are so many drink drivers on the roads. Just one thing that got me wondering...... Monash is just a few minutes from there... why would they take them all the way to the Alfred?
  22. It would be cheaper to go and get them yourself than to C.O.D. Australia Post charge a lot for postage on COD items.
  23. I didn't think they had spark plug leads.
  24. You can check the availability of cable for telstra and optus. OPTUS http://www1.optusnet.com.au/offers/cable/a...=optusnetportal Sorry but cable is not available in that postcode area (3804). Telstra needs an address to tell you if cable is available in the area... However, we live in a cabled area, and can't get Optus. :Bang:
