  6. That would depend on a lot of things... Just because a car has a lot of power, doesn't mean that you have to use it on the street. The driving ability of the individual also needs to be taken into consideration. If you need to 'give it a bit' to get out of a hairy situation, you want to know that you're in control..... otherwise when you 'give it a bit' to get out of a situation, you could end up with a worse situation on your hands. The answer is 'whatever you feel comfortable with'
  7. I can't come, we're having an R31 meeting that night.
  8. Sorry, the Legnum doesn't do it for me.... But the Stagea..... :uh-huh:YEAH BABY! :uh-huh:
  9. Not all shops are open 24/7. Autobarn stay open late, and if you go in there and ask for a part, the best they can do is chase it up for you. The place that they need to order it from may not be open. They cant control that. We have ordered lots of specialist parts through autobarn, and have never had a problem. The longest wait was for a momo leather shifter boot, and it took 3 weeks to come in. I don't think there's anything wrong with retail service in Australia, I think that if you want something, really, really want something, then it's worth chasing it up isnt it?
  10. I have been a loyal customer of Dandenong (VIC) Autobarn for over 10 years, and they really look after me. Everyone in there knows me, (if i go a week without a visit, they notice!) the staff are friendly, however, some of the younger employees don't have the knowledge that you'd expect. (They should only be in the section that sells car seat covers!) If there's something I want and can't get, they will order it in. They will always go out of their way to find products for me. However, it may take a few weeks for them to be able to get it in if it's something more complex than a fuel filter or some globes. There are some things that are more specialised products, and as such, you need to look around, and can't bag out an autobarn store if they don't have a particular product on the shelf if it costs $700 per unit and they may only sell one per year. Remember that we live in Australia, not Japan. We are in a predominantly Ford and Holden oriented market, and as such, it's natural to expect that Nissan products aren't as easy to come by. Did you leave a deposit? If you order products that they don't stock, then it is standard practice that you leave a deposit so that they know that you will pick it up, instead of them spending their own time and money to get the product in, and then have it sitting on the shelf collecting dust. If you ordered products, get onto them about it. If you didn't leave a deposit, then they have no obligation to you. ~K
  11. Damn... I have all my points..... am I banned from your 1337 club? :shake:
  12. haha only just found this thread, nice one Wardest. You truly are demented..... just the way I like it! I can contribute, but my stories aren't as good as most. When I was 3, my brother put me on a billy cart and pushed me down the driveway... i slammed into the garage door, and my head flew forwards and hit the bolt in the centre of the steering wheel. I have a nice scar in the centre of my forehead still. When I was about 8, I got attacked by a Great Dane, (I was only tiny, so the bite covered a large area on my left side), we were in South Gippsland at the time, and had to drive an hour and a half to get to the hospital. This story continues. The owner of the dog got in trouble for not keeping the dog under control, so a few months later, while i was riding my bike up and down the road, he shot me in the right knee. (It was only an air rifle, but the damage was quite nasty, and now i have arthritis in that knee) I broke my wrist when I was rollerskating in an old unused servo, and my wheel got stuck in one of the holes where a bowser was removed.... Nobody believed how much pain i was in, and when i eventually got taken to hospital, i was told it was just a sprain, got bandaged up and sent home. The next day while I was at school, i got a phone call to say that the person who checked my x-ray had failed to see the break, and i had to go in and get plaster. My other half (GTR R31) had a decent injury, he was making some custom parts for the car, and the saw grabbed the bit of metal he was holding, and swung it around and chopped the fingerprint part of his finger off. I had to drive his car from Mordialloc to Frankston hospital while he sat there bleeding everywhere and got whiter and whiter... he was so worried that he was going to get blood on his precious car. They did x-rays, stitched it back on, but when we went for the follow up appointment, they found that the end of the finger had been left too long before they re-attached it. It was all black and dead and gross.... Luckily, where it was, the tissue was eventually able to grow back, but even to this day, he still can't play guitar properly. The end.

  17. OK, I have some information that might actually be useful. ADR- Steering Columns. Requires that steering wheel and column assemblies must collapse under specified forces to reduce injuries to drivers on impact and limits the horizontal intrusion of the steering column into the cabin. blah blah blah........ For the purposes of Regulation 819 of the Road Safety (Vehicles) Regulations 1999 the following modifications, which generally do not affect the vehicle's continued compliance with the Standards for Registration, are approved modifications. # Any modification which does not adversely affect the structural integrity of the vehicle, its handling characteristics or its compliance with the relevant standards for registration. # Equipment or accessories equivalent in quality, performance and safety to those fitted to the vehicle or supplied or recommended by the vehicle manufacturer as original equipment or accessories. That last paragraph is the most important. In a nutshell, you can change the steering wheel, but if the original one was padded, then the one you change it to needs to be padded. If the factory wheel had an airbag, you can only change the wheel to one with an airbag in it. ~K P.S, All this info can be found on the VicRoads website.
