  2. I think in future people should only go to cruises/meets that are organised by people that we know... Not some outsider who is out to impress.... It wouldn't suprise me if piston muncher told a couple of his mates that he knows a bunch of people with Skylines, and that he'd get them all to 'come on down' Whatever the situation was, it's not good enough. You don't organise a cruise, then not introduce yourself to people who turn up.
  3. ditto ...it's good to hear that your final days spent with him were on a good note. ~K
  4. hmm.... you got some connections? Don't suppose you can help us out with some import tail lights, centre garnishes and auto-spoilers + motors?!?!
  5. Um.. it's not much good asking us where to find a car in California... We're all in Australia! Maybe go and register at http://forums.skylinesdownunder.co.nz/ and ask in the USA section. You might have a bit more luck there. Happy hunting!
  6. I think the idea of these courses is to find what your car is capable of... there's not much point if they give you a loaner car that has stuff all power, huge brakes, and is front wheel drive, because it wouldn't be representative of the majority of cars out there, and you still wouldn't know how your own car handles in the situations that are created as scenarios. rs73 did a Jim Murcott driving course earlier this year, if you do a search for 'Advanced driving' you should be able to find it. As for the Neal Bates one, I can't say I've heard of it, and I couldn't find anything about it on the net, so it makes me wonder how good it would be? Surely if someone thought it was worthwhile it would have been mentioned somewhere... You can get some info on the Murcott school here Personally, I think it's a great idea, and everyone should have to complete some sort of advanced driver training (as well as basic first-aid) to be able to drive on the road. Maybe you could get a few Canberrians together and organise to go as a group.. you may even get a group discount. :uh-huh: Look into it a bit further.... ......and don't knock the R31 auto!
  7. oooh and further to that, keep an eye on the R31 forums, every now and again some special goodies like import tail lights and import grilles pop up for sale.
  8. um acsplit has a GTS2 bumper for sale, not sure if it's a front or rear... Darkhalf is also a good source of info on where to find parts. Check out his kit parts page. (Note: The URL that he has listed for Nispares isn't working) The correct URL for Nispares is http://www.nispares.com.au/
  9. Part of growing up? Maybe that's the problem.... I'm all grown up. I've lost enough innocent mates to terrible road accidents. I have zero tolerence for people being assholes on the road. Public roads aren't for playing games. If you want to be a terrorist, go to Iraq. [edit] I don't need to re-read what I've written, I'm well aware of how I sound, maybe when you lose some mates to someone elses stupidity, you may realise where I'm coming from. Hopefully you won't need to lose anyone close to you before you realise what I'm talking about... Maybe when you have children of your own, you might understand how precious life is. Nobody is invincible.

    I'm Od'n Hard!

    Just get a 31 :uh-huh:
  11. ... as you state, I'm an enthusiast... not a rev head. I feel no desire to go around being a menace on public roads. Follow me around with a camera if you must. How is it any less dangerous to drive at high speeds on public roads? Might as well be drunk, because at least when you kill someone you can say "I'm sorry your honour, I was having an alcoholic blackout at the time of the accident, and I don't recall killing 2 entire families." It sounds a lot better than "I'm sorry your honour, I was just bored and had nothing better to do, so I thought I'd go and kill some people and blame it on the car." :uh-huh:
  12. Well.... that makes it all OK then doesn't it. So once you have done an advanced driving course, it's OK to drag people on the streets and endanger innocent lives? I'm sorry, but I don't care if you've done an advanced driving course or not, if you completed an advanced driving course, then why are you still treating other peoples lives with such blatant disregard? (Not to mention that advanced driving courses are conducted under controlled conditions) Some people never grow up......
  13. Nispares sells a front spoiler for $195 They can be contacted on 97206414 or 97298497 So now you can send ME a copy of the video. :shake:
  14. This topic has been done to death, try using the search function. The following is from Bluey, MCCR Police liaison. Hope this help you: There has been a lot of confusion in regard to the various colour neons, washer LED's etc in regard to what is and isn't allowed. This has come about because there are several rules and guidelines that effect them. Reports have been submitted to both the Police Policy section and Vic Roads to order to clarify it a bit better. The Road Safety (Vehicles)(Vehicle Standards) Regulations 1999 S.R. No 54/99 Division 19 Section 118(2) states; A vehicle may be fitted with any other light or reflector, except (unless sub-clause (3) applies) - (a) a light that flashes; or (B) a light or reflector that - (i)shows a red light to the front; or (ii)shows a white light to the rear; or (iii)is shaped or located in a way that reduces the effectiveness of a light or reflector that is required to be fitted to the vehicle under the Vehicle Standards. Although that says other lights can be fitted provided the above conditions are met the Vic Roads Technical Guide for Vehicles states; Vehicle Standards Information 10: Installation of lights on Road Vehicles Motor vehicles and trailers intended for use on the road must be fitted with lamps that comply with the Standards for Registration which for vehicles built on or after 1 October 1991 are the ADRs. The standards also prohibit a vehicle from being fitted with a lamp or reflector that is not required or permitted by the standards. Road Rules - Victoria state Rule 219 A driver must not use, or allow to be used, any light fitted to or in the driver's vehicle to dazzle, or in in a way that is likely to dazzle, another road user. Definition of dazzle 1.v.t. confuse sight by excess of sight , intricate motion, etc, confound or surprise by brilliant display or prospect. 2.n. bright confusing light

  18. ok, i have some more 'bits' Cruise control:
  19. well.... I went and did some more painting today Painted the cruise control, and brackets, and the air horn compressor and some bits and pieces, dave made a heat shield for the pod, and another one for the extractors, and i painted the pod one white, and the one for the extractors is polished..... mmmmmmmm......... shiny bits......
  20. Maybe some people should thin before they stick their foot in their mouth.... :uh-huh: You'd really be trying hard to find something to defect on my car, I keep it as stock as possible. I don't have any 'illegal mods' There's a fine line between an enthusiast and a tosser, and I know which side of the line I want to stay on. As a representative of the R31 Skyline Club, I take it upon myself to make sure that my car isn't defectable. It's not too low, or too loud, I have no EPA issues, I have stock pedals, wheels, steering wheel, seats, all the things that people like to change, and yet I am still able to enjoy my car safely. The way I see it, unless you're made of money, there's no point in changing things on the car, only so that you draw attention to yourself and get pulled over and defected. I would never remove a feature that is there for safety. Do you enjoy your face? What looks better.... A face that's been hit with a pillow? or a brick wall?
  21. hmmmm hey andrew, maybe its the paint in my engine bay that makes my (mostly stock) Ti go faster than your GTS :shake: When the rice is hidden, it's not so bad. Nice job inark, looks good! Photos are never representative of true colours, so I can't wait to see it in the metal!
