And if anyone knows of where I can get hold of a set of those R31 aero mirrors..... TELL ME!!!!!:uh-huh: please!

He may be serious.... Sometimes if there is a loose hose clamp, or a gasket is giving way, there can be an extra 'whistle' sound when the turbo kicks in.

In Melbourne, some of the earlier model (86-88) are beginning to have problems with their original paint work, the clear coat is starting to break down due to UV exposure. Some cars that have been kept outside and ungaraged all their lives are beginning to show signs of rust, but on the whole, there isn't much of a problem as far as rust goes. Most of the R31's had rust treatment when they came out of the factory and are still in really good condition.

The main reason most people want to do these runs, is so that they have times to compare to after they have done some more work to their cars. hell, even if you pull a 16 as your best, then at least you will know what difference any future mods make to performance. It's not about 'who has the fastest car' (well, it is, and it isn't;) ) It's about having a fun day, and having the chance to find out what your car is capable of doing the way it is.

Perth would be a fine place to start. The R31's have big variations in prices from state to state. You should be able to get good prices in Perth. If you tried buying one in VIctoria, you would be paying a higher price for the same car. .... and don't worry, we aren't so 'Americanised' that we call a caravan a trailer.... A caravan is a caravan

Tienie if you were buying the car to import it into S.Africa then you would have to check out the local regulations there....but if you were importing it, then registration wouldn't matter. I figure the reason we don't have the SGLi here is because it is too much like the model that is available here. We could get GTS-X coupes and Passage pillarless cars imported from Japan to Australia because of structural and mechanical differences, but if a car is very similar to one that is available here already, then you can't import it. Or are you looking at coming to live in Australia where we still love r31's?
