  2. oops, yes I do have a picture, but sorry, I was meant to be asking Tienie (I'm all embarrassed now!) Here is a pic of the SGLi

    Calder Tonight

Too warm for the turbos to perform at their best
  4. P.S, In answer to your question, the 32 etc, are rear wheel drive, and the GTR & GTS 4 are 4 wheel drive
  5. HI Tienie Which Australian models (if any) were available in South Africa? We have one member (only 1) from South Africa in the R31 Skyline club, and he owns an SGLi, which until about a week ago, most of us had never seen. It is fully optioned and has a leather interior, I don't know of any SGLi's in Australia But we have quite a few Japanese R31's here. (I wonder why we have Japanese ones and no SA ones:confused: )
  6. One more question.... these trophies.... Are they the standard Calder trophies, or has someone within SAu organised trophies just for the Skyline competitors? just curious
  7. Here is an update of the R31 list. 8. The big thing in Japan at the moment seems to be mega low profile rubber. :uh-huh:
  9. The first information you should be finding out, is whether or not it's legal to do this where you live. In Victoria, you can't leave the car running if it's not attended. I don't know about the laws on this in other states. I'd also be checking with the insurance company, because if someone hits your car (while the motor is running) it could get very messy with a lot of grey areas about 'who was in control of the car at the time'
  10. Maybe we give them a bit of an eye opener next year and enter the show as "Skylines Australia" and put on display the best of the best from R31 to R34 (I'm sure I could even rustle up an R30 from somewhere;)) We're hoping to get a few R31's into Autosalon next year. No rice or anything, just some highy modded but nice looking cars to promote the club.
  11. Saturday I'm working at the Spring racing carnival IF we can organise to get a few heads together to talk shop, then I'd like to put in an appearance on behalf of the R31 crew. (I'm also not too bad in the 'ideas' department )
  12. Good question! Last time we (R31's) did a drag day at Calder, we met up at Bell St. McDonalds and went as a group. Does anyone want to do that?
  13. We have an R31 GTS1 that wants to run as well Jason - Driver Charlene - Spectator ...... and does anyone know if dogs are allowed at Calder? They normally bring the dog :uh-huh:
  14. Your g/f will classify as a spectator, and will cost $10 for her to get in.
  15. blind-elk what sort of membership fees are we looking at, and what sort of events does the club hold?
  16. Any updates for us on these things?
  17. I helped to organise a Nissan cruise a while ago, we had R31 skyline club, team NSE, ANTRX, the silvia club, the pulsar club, and the only people who acted like total wits were the ones with the big "MCCR" stickers...... who at a later date came into the R31 forums bitching that the cruise "wasn't fast enough" Once something has been advertised on the MCCR forums, you can't control who's going to turn up. It will be a free for all 'drag racing cruise' and I don't care what time of day it is. It's not going to stop the dickhead factor. :talk2hand
  18. Racing: GTR-R31 - Dave Spectating/Pit-crew: Me - Karina
  19. Oh.... I just wanted to clarify that when I said 'we' I was talking about me and my other half..... I wasn't trying to speak on behalf of anyone else
  20. SKY031

    Gippsland Area

hmmmmm might get the R31's out that way some time so we can meet up with you. Will have to be next year though..... got too much planned for the rest of this year....... so HOLD THAT THOUGHT!!!!!!!!!
  21. Well... I was all ears untill MCCR was mentioned..... Guess we won't be coming to this one. :ak47:
  22. Read your insurance policy, it will tell you that your car is not covered by insurance if you are racing (legal or otherwise) All motorsport is undertaken at your own risk, and you will have to sign something that says that the owners and organisers of the event are in no way responsible for any damage done to your vehicle or yourself. DRAGSAFE
  23. um... get a clue! I'm not asking people to come across to R31 Skyline club.... I'm asking people to post replies here!
