  1. 1 track mind? I thought he just specified it can be DEADLY if not wired in correctly or if there is a malfunction. What pros are you looking for when the damn thing is a potential death trap? And how do you people think a remote start actually starts the car? Well let a professional explain it to you. In order to crank and start a vehicle you need to have 12V across the ignition wire, and 12v for a short period around 1-3 seconds on the starter wire. Once you have these two, the starter will turn the engine over, and the ignition will ignite the fuel. CAR STARTS. Now what makes you think that your car is now not easy to steal? Where do you pick up your ignition and starter points? AFTER YOUR IMMOBILISER, otherwise its not going to work. So you have just given a thief an easy way to HOTWIRE YOUR CAR just by looking at your aftermarket wiring. Your immobiliser and your remotes are now useless. All someone has to do is crank the car start and drive off. Your remote which claims a KM distance has actually just been diminished to 200 metres due to buildings and trees and what not because it work on an FM band. Dont kid yourself there is no PRO'S to a remote start alarm.
  2. I have never had a faulty amp straight out of the box, especially a brand name like Eclipse.
  3. First things first, dont install it yourself if you dont what you are doing. Second you have a short somewhere it is as simple as that, sending your product into protection most likely the amplifier. And you dont need a hi/lo level converter if you have one rca. All you need is a couple of splitters.
  4. Tru Technology 4 channel, Rainbow SLC265KICK splits, Amboss 12"
  5. He went with a single 12 built into the right side.
  6. Thank you for supporting what i have been trying to say.
  7. Well u never mentioned bad sound quality. I have fitted numerous Pioneer units and the 9850BT is definitely a real good performer. As far as audio side of things goes, u get exactly what u paid for. Parametric equaliser, time alignment, Hi volt pre outs, LPF/HPF and a few other useful little features i dont remember right now. As far as bad sound quality goes, well at the end of the day who installed the unit? Was everything soldered and insulated properly? Were all the speakers in phase? You know there is numerous things that can go wrong, and the cost of the unit doesnt make it prone to idiots who dont know what they are doing when installing.
  8. Hence why we are discussing units used for CAR AUDIO PURPOSES only and to play music with no inherent noise problems and malfunctions. If u wanted Bluetooth perhaps a phone kit would have been a better option.
  9. doesnt have to perfectly fit in there . I can always make a fake wall for you, ill explain once you come down.
  10. A 10 can be just as loud as a 12. It all depends on how you set it up. The difference is a 10 will not play as low as a 12, unfortunately there is no replacement for cone area. I reckon we go a 12 in your car Trav i dont know why u wanted a 10 to start with . Im working on a sweet looking R34 at the moment you can come and have a look at with a fibreglass subbox.
  11. Remember the saying RUBBISH IN - RUBBISH OUT. Your amplifiers can help with headroom but what effect does that have on Sound Quality? The Headunit is where its at unfortunately, and if you dont get this right then you spending bazillion dollars on amps and speakers its useless. What you are telling me your $250 DVD headunits carry a 24 bit Mosfet Burr Brown chip? I seriously doubt it mate. There is a reason why there are different processors on the market and unfortunately I own a $30 Rolex, which stopped working the minute i left Malaysia, so your analogy doesnt really seem fit. And another thing about sound quality, SURELY your expertise goes as far as knowing that the Compressed Ipod format is the worst for SOUND QUALITY. As i said if you are happy with a $30 Rolex and wanna pose and show off then go ahead and make yourself feel good. But dont try to justify your reasons for buying it.
  12. Noone appart from someone who sees and installs these things every day.
  13. Then go ahead and buy it. That is your choice to make. But please dont kid yourself that a Real ROLEX is made in China using cheap labour. But i can assure you, a brand name well researched and developed unit, has MUCH MUCH better Sound quality, ergonomically much better designed and will have a much longer life than the $250 one, and has a lot more features. All Brand name equipment screens and DVD players are made in Japan, only their entry level CD players are made in offshore factories owned by the brand.
  14. And you really think a ROLEX for $30 is as good as the real thing. Man you are dillusional.
  15. That is the funniest thing i ever heard. Yeah go ahead and waste your money on the EBAY one, but untill you compare the build quality on a brand name unit you wont understand what you are getting yourself into. Now these days there are screens way cheaper than $1500 locally and brand name too with 3 year warranty. I know of one just under $1000. We see the EBAY rubbish all day every day with people thinking a $200 unit is the same as a brand name one who took years of research and development.
  16. Here is an alarm i am currently working on at Adelaide Pro Sound on an S14 200SX. This is what our under dash looks like with the alarm fitted. You will notice i still havent mounted the led light anywhere, but thought i would post this up of how we do alarms in my workshop. I know Chris Rogers does them similar to me. Anyway enjoy and remember an alarm is only as good as it is fitted. George PS: Someone has already run a bunch of wires thru the kick trim for other accessories. A couple of cable ties and some insulation tape sorted that problem out.
  17. Never mind those headunits. Buy something decent, but i love the dish on your frigin rims man .
  18. 1st and most important fact, is a sub in a parcel shelf will sound like ass .
  19. The KX165's are a coaxial set. SLC265KICK are a mid range component speaker with a high quality crossover, silk dome tweeter and Rainbows patented Kickbass system. These cannot be compaired, different sets all together.
  20. Agreed. People shouldnt be attacked because of which city they live in. I just tried to state that leaving subboxes unsecured in a car can be deadly in a front on collision even travelling at moderate speeds.
  21. Really and only a small minded idiot who has never left Melbourne thinks that Melbourne is the be all and end all of all cities in the world. Perhaps you should ask me where i come from and how far i travelled. As for me being a KNOB, I love keyboard warriors.
  22. Yeh the ECU is in the boot, but whether its the correct one or not is a good question . Id be looking in the kick trim.
  23. Viper is one of the most difficult alarms to fit. Dont worry about the wiring in ur car, worry about setting up that alarm. Even a professional who does these day in day out cant do one properly in a day. But yeah go ahead man im sure the wiring diagrams on the net, will help you understand the installation manual which requires a pilots, engineering and language degree to understand .
  24. Way to go champ. Now imagine while ur on a track day and ur more than pushing ridiculous speeds with ur car and all of a sudden you come to a crashing halt JUST FOR EXAMPLE. How much do you think that subbox weighs at a sudden dead stop from a vehicle travelling 60km only? Well i guess you wouldnt know the physics behind it, but neverthless i would seriously love it if you could install my subs in the back seat of my Supra for a slab of Pale ale because i know i cant do a better job.
  25. Dude i was there in October last year and i can tell you its all full of CHINESE knock offs of Sony and Kenwood. I was very dissapointed. Real car audio costs money for a reason.
