  1. been like that since the beginning. that's one reason ive never been interested in driving one of those. mistakes happen but your proof you can do it.
  2. Im running a fairly standard R32 Gts down here in tassie. Im about 2 sec a lap off the fast cars (in my class) at Baskerville. 63.2 is my best. got to get down to the mid 61's to be at the front. My mods are pod filter fmic (only just fitted) front camber/rear camber arms caster rods 3'' open exhuast, side exit rda slotted rotors ferodo pads strut bar bridgestone re55 205/55/16 wheels 16 x 7 1/2 kings lowered springs removed the air cond radiator to get more air to the radiator. we overheated at the last meeting, mainly cauase i was following too close and forgot about to get some cool air out of the draft.
  3. not up to the usual standard. something weird was going on.
  4. everyone starts at the bottom, dont they stu!!!
  5. well if its got black marks on it i dont think it was from me. i was fired up and did try to return the favour, but i didnt feel any contact. thats why i had to drop back, i overheated. nothing wrong with close racing, but if you cant do it and not touch...... there's prob nothing wrong with the car( i called it stupid because i had my nose out of joint) but a car dont drive itself. kings lowered springs, pod filter, 3'' exhaust, strut bar, front and rear camber arms, race tryes. a bigger interccoler is going on it now. the rest is standard.
  6. a "sorry mate" after the race would of made me feel a whole lot better. these things happen and we take the risk but there is no reason to it on purpose (not saying he did). good to know he ran top 20 in the rally. since our lap times where nearly the same, so might I have. and I bet its had tons more work done on it than mine!! For the record, mine is still 70% standard.
  7. thanks!! intercooler arrived today. have to go on a sponsor hunt now
  8. OH NO STU!! not the marrige thing!! i heard about that from Mark at the track today. where was our invite!!! ha ha LOL
  9. yeah i went. i raced. i lived LOL i was midfield most of the day (tagra b+c) 4th in race one and a new best of 1.03.2 down from 1.03.8.new 3'' exhuast helped. didnt get close to that time again all day though. got a tap in the rear in the last race from some hot headed bloke in a holden ute (what a stupid thing to race!!) didnt do much damage (anyone got a spare reversing light cover??). had to back off after that, started to missfire (overheated) good racing all day through the classes. on the bad side ive worn out a front right,(2 big chunks down to the canvise) and my front pads. ill have a new intercooler this week then i can turn the boost up abit and do a few other little things, get it dyno'd again and head to symmons, hopefully.
  10. thats funny, i have an urge of a different kind
  11. Cheers! Its manily due to the circut i think, or im just grreeaatt LOL they have it over me on the straights though. but yeah, for what it is im doing ok. once we've upgraded to somewhere near their standard, look out! but it all takes time, and money.
  12. havent had any prob's yet. standard intercooler. we have to make up a better cooling suround for the pod filter. at the moment its only a thin sheet of aluminum. track test didnt go as well as i thought it would. since we did some suspenion changes, dad did a rough wheel alig on it i only used my road tyres which are slippery as hell to see how the trye wear was. exhaust didnt seem to make much difference but then again i was still pulling the same speed on the straights with slower corner speed so i wont really know till my next race meeting on the 25th. i wished id takin the race tyres now. dad did a wheel alig with wood and tape measure and he's done a good job. then again he has been doing then for 30 years. and i really need to lock the diff cause im lifting the inside rear to much and losing traction.
  13. and the EVO's. im told they suffer from a bit of turn in understeer. i can monster all the guys i race with in corners, i just havent quite got enough power for the straights. but mine is still standard apart from a pod filter and now a 3'' straight through/side exit exhaust(no muff/cat) which im taking to the track tomorrow to see the difference. im hoping it will be noticable.
  14. Ive got the same problem, sort of. Ive fitted a set of sub frame bushes (pineapples) for traction and now the right hand side one is leaking. it wasnt before.
  15. I dont know what you lot are on!!. I race my R32 and I havnet had any problems on the track yet. feels fine to me. i was going to try the cheaper option of using some cut washers to stop it working to see what the difference was. but really, the only trouble ive had cornering is the blokes in front of me holding me up!!!
  16. ive got a r32 gts-t, basic six point cage, standard seat, harness, ferodo pads, kings lowered springs, b/stone re55's, strut bar. i have high performance oils but havent put in yet other than brake and engine. installing some cooling ducts for the brakes this week. plenty to do but its all takes money. i do ok considering what the competition are driving. they better look out once i install the go fast bits LOL. standard trim i did 1.10's. round my local. now im doing 1.04's.
  17. i wont be running a cat of any sort. its a race car
  18. ive have a stock r32 im running on the track. ive gutted the cat and taken the rear muffler off. will i blow flames?? if so, cool!!! and will i notice much difference without it? i havent tried it yet, have to wait till next weekend. i will have a 3'' system on it by feb next year but for now its honkin ok.
  19. how much for the quick release system? i think ill need one once i have the cage.
  20. i was thinking of doing the domain next month but i might keep getting the car ready for the track.
  21. you cant go wrong with bond. ive just ordered a 6 point for my r32. with that i can do tarmac rallys circiut whatever.
  22. i still have HICAS and my car is for Targa's and track. i dont know any different so it isnt bothereing me yet. i feel quite at home in the car. best time at baskerville is 1.03.9 and the group ill be running in the fastest time is 1.02 something. the car is about 80% standard with a set of re55 race tyres. only other things done are car r32 gts lowerd springs (kings) strut bar caster arms pod filter reset computer octane boost 7'' rims only running about 1deg of camber all round so far.
  23. no, i havnet lost my marbles. just thought it was worth a try posting. i have a capri v6 motor and gearbox for sale. maybe someone will know someone who is wanting one. its a complete motor. asking $900ono inc the gearbox.
  24. no worries. ive just sent him a email and ill follow up with a call tomorrow avro. i defently only want the wheels, just depends on whether GMB ends up wanting the donuts or not.
